The Bit of Human Left
Arris Graham is a regular college student, attending a high ranking college in California. It's summer break, and Arris is returning home to visit his relatives and pay homage to his deceased parents at their graves. Little does he know, the entire world is about to change. When Arris goes out to visit his parent's graves, he's caught in the middle of a thunderstorm. He continues on through the thunderstorm to pay his respects to his parents but is interrupted by some disturbing texts from his cousin. Arris tries to leave the graveyard, but before he can get to his car he is confronted by a screen which appears in mid-air before him, reading, "Initializing World Server start", with an ominous countdown just below those words. Just as the server is about to initialize though, Arris is struck by an enhanced bolt of lightning, and the very flesh melted off him. When he comes to after the System has initialized, Arris finds himself in the body of a skeleton, stuck in the dungeon, with no way out for another 6 months. How will Arris navigate this new world? Jon Whitaker went to summer camp expecting a nice relaxing time as a newly minted counselor in training. He was not expecting to fight an army of monsters, work with a serial killer, enter a one-sided friendship with an eldritch horror, or study under a competing witch and dark lord. But regardless of what he was expecting, his summer is over and he's made his way back home where he can try and return to a normal -for him- life. Too bad life rarely goes as expected. --- Please Note: This is forum quest/RPG I run in the same city/setting as my other stories Hacking Reality and Get Ink'd, meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.

Felix, an elite soldier, died in combat. He was one of the millions of people murdered every day by an unstoppable foe, who pushed mankind on the brink of extinction. His consciousness was stored in a secret bunker, but, by mistake, the transfer into a new body took five hundred years more than expected. Sadly, the only one available was of a short and weak teenager who died many years before. Many things changed in the meantime: magic, dragons, and other creatures that were once thought to be of fantasy are now common, and a new system rules on everyone and everything, allowing a person to enhance his body past human limits. He'll start again from scratch, trying to master it, but his time isn't infinite: mankind's worst enemy is yet to be defeated, and it's getting ready to finish the job once and for all.
