《BE ALRIGHT》12

We went home right after that and I go straight to my room not wanting to see Jennie cause she'll just pity me or she'll just scold me for going out of her office and making this happen. I let a few tears escape my eyes. In my whole life, I've never been slapped and I don't also like it when people shout for no reason at all.
"Lisa" I heard Mr. Kang's voice from my door. I stood up and open up at the door a little seeing Mr. Kang with an ice pack and I even saw Jennie on his back but I tried to keep the space small so that Mr. Kang will be the only one who can see me. I grab the ice pack and nod my head for a thank you before walking to my bed and placed it on my cheek. I only look at my ceiling the whole time and I didn't even know that it's already 8 in the evening when I heard another knock on the door. I open it up seeing Mr. Kang again
"Let's go down and you can eat dinner" he said smiling a bit
"I'm not hungry Mr. Kang. I'll probably just eat tomorrow" I said but he shakes his head reaching out for my arm
"Just eat at least a little" he said so I sighed and walk downstairs seeing Jennie on the stove while some foods are already on the counter. I sit down on the chair and Mr. Kang stayed in the living room leaving Jennie and me back here.
I'm just staring at the food while Jennie started putting some soup in a bowl and placing it right in front of me. She didn't say a word and walk towards her chair right in front of me. She started eating so I did as well

"Is it salty? " she asked casually starting up a conversation. I just shake my head and keep on eating little by little.
"I'm full, thank you for the food" I said standing up but before I can even go she started speaking again
"You also have a bruise on your arm, what happened? " she asked making me look at my arm and it's the bruise from the lady who keeps dragging me earlier
"it's nothing" I said making Jennie stood up from her seat.
"Come here I'll put an ice pack there" she said and I can't do anything but walk towards her chair and sit down. She grabs some ice pack and walks back towards me placing it gently on my arm.
"Does it hurt? " she asked and surprisingly she's been speaking a lot more than I do. I shake my head and keep my gaze on my arm.
"I'm sorry for causing some trouble back there " I said looking up at her. She looked at me as well and I haven't seen her this close
"Do you think I'll scold you for being slapped on the face? " she asked seriously and I just kept my gaze on her "I fired those two cause I've been receiving so many reports about them being too bossy" she said pulling the ice pack away for a bit and putting it back "Mr. Kang told me he can't find you then an employee called my secretary cause she saw you being scolded by their head on that department" she said looking up back to my eyes "Mr. Kang and I make our way there to get you but I saw the lady slapped you" she said pausing a bit and I don't know if it's weird but I actually saw her eyes softened for a bit but she put her serious face on again "that needs to be done anyway" she said. "You can keep the ice pack and I'll clean up" she said and turned around but I immediately wrap my arm around her small waist so I'm basically back hugging her.

"Thank you" I said in almost a whisper tone as I keep my arms around her waist and I felt her stiffen but she relaxed a bit "I don't know what to do earlier. I don't even know how to protect myself earlier" I said and I started having a lump on my throat and my eyes started watering up "I'm sorry for causing you too much trouble every time I'm around " I said and a tear escaped my eye "I don't know how to do this properly Jennie but I'm trying my best just so you can have the company as you wanted. Bare with me for a bit more time. I'll work harder" I said sniffing a bit and loosening my tight hug on her waist and pulling away as I wipe my tears away.
Jennie turn around and look me in the eyes with an unreadable emotion
"I'm sorry for not letting you have fun on your fest earlier. I was being rude when I should've repaid you earlier" she said sighing and putting her hands on my shoulders
"That's fine... As long as you tried the foods back there" I said lightening up the mood
"But seriously, no one can talk back to you and hurt you" she said pausing a bit "only Jennie Kim can do that" she said making me laugh and I'm not imagining things right now cause she chuckled a bit before turning around to start cleaning up.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com. This piece of work, after all, is only a first draft and by no means an end product by an amateur (beginner) writer. Mistakes are bound to happen. With that said, I will strive to improve as I write. Feel free to point out errors and inconsistencies as you read. I thank you for your time. Finally, I pledge to not rewrite this novel until the first draft is completed.
