Y/N looked at Scarlett, she licked her lips and smiled. "I hope you'll like it." She said.

"You're an amazing singer-songwriter, Y/N. Everyone will love your song." Scarlett said and hold Y/N's hand in hers, "If it'll make you feel better, you can feel my heartbeat." She said, placing Y/N's hand in her chest.

Y/N smiles, she can feel Scarlett's heartbeat and it makes her feel a bit better. "You really know how to make me feel better, don't you?" She said, looking between Scarlett's eyes.

"Of course, I'll always know how to make you feel better." Scarlett said, smiling.

Y/N just took a deep breath, smiling.

"Why don't you sing for my wedding?" Brad spoke.

Y/N was brought back to reality when she heard that and she almost choke on her beer.

"Brad, come on." Y/F/N said, shaking his head. He might not know what exactly happened to his daughter, but he has an idea. He was the one who raised Y/N when his wife died and he knows his daughter very well.

"I know you didn't just say that." Y/N said as soon as she recovered.

After enjoying the water, they all decided to chill by the beach while drinking and talking. For the most part, Y/N enjoyed the conversation, but of course, Brad had to talk.

"Why not?" Brad asked, smirking. "I like your songs, especially your last album. Maybe you can sing one of your songs from your last album? That one song... In a Heartbeat?"

"Brad." Scarlett warned, frowning.

Y/N was breathing heavily now, fighting with herself to remain calm. But Brad really knows how to get on her nerves. And fuck him for even mentioning that.

"Brad, what's wrong with you?" Carmen asked, shaking her head.

"Something's wrong with your son, Carmen." Y/GM/N said, disappointed.

"What? I'm just saying." Brad said, still smirking. "I like that song, In a Heartbeat—"

Brad didn't get to finish his sentence when Y/N suddenly got up and punched him. When Y/N's fist connected with his face, there was a snapped and he quickly touched his broken nose, crying in pain. That didn't satisfy Y/N and she kicked him where the sun don't shine.

Brad's other hand went to his crotch, and he fell on his knees.

"Oh my god!" Carmen shouted, getting up to check on her son.

"You should've kept your mouth shut, boy." David said, shaking his head and drinking his beer. "Man up, stop crying, but that last hit was, ooh." He added.

"David!" Carmen scolded.

"He's not wrong." Y/GM/N mumbled.

"Fuck you, Brad." Y/N spat, "I'm done dealing with your shit, you motherfucker! You're such a piece of shit! Go to hell, you fucking loser." She said then she shrugged Scarlett's hands off of her and walked away.

"Y/N, wait!" Scarlett called out as Y/N walks away.

"Leave me the fuck alone!" Y/N said, not looking back.

Scarlett just sighed, shaking her head.

that incident by the beach, Y/N isolated herself from everyone. She went to her bedroom and stayed there, she's too emotional and she doesn't have energy to talk to them. And she's sure as fuck that she doesn't want to see Brad right now, maybe never. She never lost her cool like that, but that was below the belt. That song was for Scarlett, it was in her last album. She named that song In a Heartbeat, like what they would always say to each other. And Brad wanted her to sing that song in their wedding? Fuck that.

Right now, Y/N was just chilling at the balcony, watching the stars and the moon. And they look peaceful, it almost makes her jealous. She wants to be like the night sky, just peaceful and lighting up the darkness. But she's heartbroken and darkness was all over her, she just wants to leave everything behind and never look back.

She thought she could do it. She thought she could face the actress and be with her for this trip. But who was she kidding? Of course, she cannot do that because every time she looks at the actress, her heart doesn't know what to feel; it shatters, and at the same time, it feels happy to see the green-eyed woman. She's stuck in between.

She's really stuck in between. She wants to forget Scarlett and move on. But her heart can't. It beats for the actress, and it breaks for the actress— her heart screams for Scarlett's name. And as much as she tried to silence it, she couldn't. Her love for the actress is too strong, and silencing it only makes it worse.

Y/N took a deep breath, closing her eyes. She put a hand on her chest, feeling her own heartbeat. I don't want to feel you, I want to feel hers. She thought and clenched her jaw, whatever she does, she will always look for Scarlett. And she doesn't know just how much pain she needs to feel for her to be okay.

Maybe I won't be okay, or maybe I'll be okay soon. Who knows? Y/N thought, shaking her head.
