Humming while playing the piano, Y/N closes her eyes as she let herself go with the music.

Y/N stopped singing and playing the piano when she heard someone spoke, she looked over her shoulder and saw her best friend, Taylor Swift.

"Hey, Tay." Y/N said, trying to smile.

"New song?" Taylor asked, walking towards her best friend.

Y/N nodded her head, "Yeah, still working on it though."

Taylor smiles and kissed Y/N's head, "Sounds good, but I can already feel the pain." She said.

Y/N sighs, shrugging. "That's what I feel."

"Any... happy song or something in your upcoming album?" Taylor asked, smiling a little.

Y/N chuckled weakly, "I don't even know if I'm going to release an album." She said.

"Why not? I thought you're working on it? Besides, I'm pretty sure your fans are waiting for your new songs." Taylor said.

True to her Taylor's words, Y/N's fans have been waiting for her to release new songs. It's actually been two years since she last released an album, and everyone's expecting that she will make new music this year.

Y/N doesn't settle for one or two genres, she likes to explore every genre because that's how she expresses herself and she's better at expressing herself with the help of music, always have been and always will be.

That's why all she's been writing and creating these days are all sad songs because that's what she feels, sadness and heartbreak.

Unfortunately, her heart decided to fall in love with someone she couldn't have.

She fell in love with someone that should be just a friend, and they are friends— well, they were. But not anymore because one day, this certain green-eyed woman that Y/N fell in love with just distanced herself from her. Like they weren't even friends to begin with, and it broke Y/N's heart, she couldn't even confess because of that.

Everything was good, she was determined to finally admit her feelings but then the green-eyed woman just stopped talking to her. She tried calling, texting, everything, but it all failed. She failed.

So, Y/N just stopped trying.

And almost two years later, she's still heartbroken. She can't just forget about her because she still sees her, and it seriously hurts, but at the same time, seeing her still brings a slight happiness inside her. Y/N just... loves her so much.

"I just..." Y/N took a deep breath, "I've been writing too many songs about... her. And it's all sad. It's too vulnerable. And I'm afraid that they'll know who I'm singing about. And if my fans can figure it out, I am positive that she'll also figure it out. I mean, it's not like she hasn't done that before."

"And you don't want that?" Taylor asked, sitting down next to Y/N.

"I don't want to," Y/N answered, "It's too late for that." She said, shaking her head.

"I know," Taylor said. "And I know this is not the right time to tell you this... but I'd rather tell you now while I'm here, rather than you being alone and just seeing it on the news or online..."

Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, "What is it?"

Taylor took a deep breath, "She's... she's getting married." She said.

Y/N felt her heart shattered and break into millions of pieces, her stomach dropped and she suddenly felt like throwing up. Her eyes starts to get blurry from tears and all she can do is feel the pain, something that she's now familiar with— pain and heartache.

Taylor couldn't help but get teary upon seeing her best friend crying and falling apart. "I'm so sorry, Y/NN." She whispered, hugging Y/N.

Y/N just sobbed.

And that's all she can do, cry because of the love she couldn't have.
