《Taken by a Maniac》10

"Come here!" They shouted.
I turned a corner and continued on, I did not wanna get caught by police, I have mushrooms and weed on me. I kept going and wondered where the hell Trevor was.
Cops broke into the warehouse where we had cocaine. The cops busted in as we were cutting and we all had to run, Trevor unlocked my handcuffs and I ran off and now I have no idea what I should do.
Should I go home or should I try to find Trevor?
Right now I'm trying to outrun police.
"Stop! You're under arrest!"
"Shit, fuck, damn it," I panted while running down the street. It was Saturday night at 11pm and I'm running down the city sidewalk where everyone in town is currently partying.
So fucking lovely.
"Stop right now! We already have police at your home!"
Doubt it, you don't know where I live, that works for people who live here but not for people who are legally dead.
We technically live in random forests. I'm pretty sure Trevor buys a bunch of land, puts some fence up, and a house in the center or something like that.
But fuck... this didn't occur to me that I might get into this situation. What am I going to do if someone recognizes me?
Oh man Jackson. What if I see Jackson. I mean my hair is now dyed black and a bit longer, I have a cut on my cheek and I dress differently now. Maybe he wouldn't even recognize me.
I was running past my favorite bar and I saw a bartender I knew inside. He glanced outside and did a double take but I turned my head the other way quickly and darted down an alley way before he could see my face.
I climbed up the metal stairs attached to the buildings side and an old lady came outside on her balcony and looked at me for a few seconds confused.
I heard keys jingling and heard the cops voices. "Where the fuck did he go?" The old ladies head snapped to them and she started yelling.
"Hey! Hey!" She yelled at them.
You bitch...
I glared at her and continued going up the stairs as quietly as I could. "He's right on the metal staircase!" I felt the stairs shake as the first cop climbed the stairs. I started running up, then I got on top of the roof and started running. I jumped to the next roof which was extremely close thankfully. Then I was able to get down, sliding down the ladder and they were a ways away. I ran around the corner and saw Trevor, he was in Oliver's truck with it on and Oliver started driving toward me. I waved my arm to him and he waved at me.

As I was walking towards him I heard, "hands up now or I shoot!" I felt my life go into slow motion in that moment.
What is Trevor going to do now. Is he going to shoot a cop? We'd be done forever whether I'm legally dead or not.
Trevor opened the backdoor and when they got next to me he yanked me in and they started shooting. I got hit in the shoulder and Trevor pulled me in the back seat. Oliver sped off after throwing a tear gas container at the police. They left us alone after that. Or couldn't find us at least.
"Hey make sure he stays awake!" Oliver said as he turned a sharp corner.
Trevor was applying pressure to the gunshot wound, trying to stop the blood. "Come on don't fall asleep, Marti," he was saying to me and I was squeezing someone's hand. I couldn't keep my eyes open.
"Come on Marti we're close to the houses, don't pass out on me right now , you can pass out when the bullet is out of you okay!" Oliver was saying as he pulled into the driveway and opened the doors.
I was lifted up and brought into the house, there was a girl waiting there with a first aid kit, a girl I didn't recognize before, she must be new.
Trevor shoved a towel in my mouth as I was pushed to lay down on the couch. "Marie, hand me the tweezers," Oliver said. He grabbed my shoulders and yanked the bullet out with the tweezers. I yelled out in pain and gripped Trevor's hand he shoved the towel back in my mouth and I bit into it until I had pieces of the towel stuck in my teeth. Oliver started picking out the shrapnel.
I started closing my eyes. "Hey Marti, don't go to sleep," Oliver said.
"Marti, stay awake," Trevor said.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
———
"Dude why are you so paranoid all the time?" Jackson asked.
"Because I've been arrested once before already and I wasn't even an adult," I said back.
"So? That means it's not on your official record," he said.
"It's most definitely on your official record," I said sternly.
He chuckled and brushed me against the tree we were walking by. "Why do you gotta be so serious sometimes?"
I rolled my eyes, "I'm not always serious," I said.
"Yeah ya are, loosen up a bit," he leaned in and put one hand over my head. "Be more open," he said and leaned in more to my lips.

I closed my eyes and leaned in a small bit towards Jackson and he put his hand on the back of my head and pulled me in for a kiss. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pushed his tongue down my throat. I moaned slightly and held onto him and pushed my hips into his.
"Don't get too rowdy now," he whispered in my ear as he bit it and back up from me. I covered my face with a hand and glared at him with a red face.
"Such an ass, you know I'm gay," I said.
He scoffed and grabbed my wrist and pulled me back for another kiss. "You're my best friend Marti."
I let out a huge gasp as my eyes opened and I sat up quickly. "Hey, Hey, take it easy," Trevor said and he sat me back on the pillows he had on my back. He sat me up a bit so I could eat.
"Did I really get shot?" I asked frantically.
"Oh yeah you did, I wanted to kill that cop but then I know I'd be done for. Even the drug dealers around here like some of the cops," he explained.
I looked down at my shoulder, it had a bandage on the front.
"It almost went through," Trevor said.
"Fucking hell," I groaned. He handed me a lit blunt. I gladly took a few hits and sat back and relaxed a little. He turned on the flat screen tv that was hanging from the ceiling. The bed sheets were so comfortable, a chandelier on the ceiling, some vases, and it's own bathroom that's huge.
The nicest place I've ever lived. The windows were covered right now with long curtains but the room was still luxury.
Like a celebrity house we live in now. It's beautiful and we both worked hard for it.
I wish... I wish I could share it with Jackson instead, he deserves it more than me.
I ate some mango and pineapple and took more hits. "Have you ever been shot before?" I asked Trevor.
"I have, it sucks ass but it can leave a cool scar depending," he said, "yours might leave a cool scar but who knows. Tattoos can always cover or fix scars."
"That's true, I do want a tattoo but eh, I don't know what," I said.
"If I get more tattoos I'm getting big pieces done at once like I have already," He said. I looked at his back and arms which already seemed covered in tattoos. "Might honestly have a tattoo guy just come to the house, I think that'd be dope, have him tattoo both of us." Trevor explained while on his phone, now looking at tattoo artists that do home visits.
I sat back and sighed, "so am I still gonna be working?"
"Not for a while, you have to heal physically, and I have to make sure no one saw you," he said.
My heart dropped at the thought of the bartender seeing anything.
I got cold. He looked me in the eye, "anyone see you?"
"N-no, no one saw me," I said and looked back at the tv while drinking some juice.
"Alright, well, I'll let you know when you'll be working again," he said and put the blunt out. I took a hit and laid back and got lazy and comfy.
The tv was playing random cartoons as usual. He crawled next to me and wrapped his arm over me.
"I really like our new house, imagine our next house is gonna be bigger than this," he said.
"W-what?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, I want a huge house for all the things I want to do and the things I need, and will need room for," he said.
"Okay, well I like what we've done so far with this house, especially the way it's designed," I said.
"I had someone decorate it for me before we moved in so I'm glad they did this good of a job," Trevor said and snuggled into my neck.
I'm so tired. I just woke up from being shot. I don't remember anything after being shot. I feel like I blanked out or something. I remember a dream of a time where I was hanging with Jackson but that's about it.
Trevor put a cold towel on my forehead. "You were hot as fuck in your sleep and I thought you were gonna overheat or something honestly. I had like four fans blowing at you and a bunch of towels," he explained.
"Really?" I asked. "I've never done that before. At least I don't think I have."
"Well you got shot so that makes sense if you're not sleeping exactly the same as you usually do the night of," he chuckled.
"That's fair," I closed my eyes a bit, "I'm still tired," I said and he started rubbing my head and I smiled a bit and started drifting off to sleep again.

The Forgotten Hero
Long ago, in the world of Thyne, the Alliance of the Free Races, a name they had given themselves, summoned a hundred humans from another dimension. Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Legends say that, upon ambushing the Demon Lord in his castle, they finally understood the plight of the world, and in the last act of heroism, sacrificed their lives, sealing him in an eternal prison so his essence would not be able to create another. With the loss of the Demon Lord, and no chance for another to be born, the dark races quickly surrendered and the free races celebrated, honouring the noble sacrifice of the heroes before quickly forgetting about them as they returned to their everyday lives. However, legends are rarely truthful, embellished by the victors in order to earn praise as well as hide the less desirable aspects of their deeds. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
