-Chapter 13. Pains and Attractions.

"So by adding 50 billion Euros for the financial services of Falcon Industries can be more cunningly profitable than simply highjacking some idiot's bank account," muttered Hyukjae while looking at the tablet PC on his table.

It was almost 11.15 at night and Donghae had refused to leave him even for a moment. Jake had felt guiltier by the second for yelling at him but if he was being honest with himself, he loved the way Donghae was stubbornly staying with him without making a sound.

True, he had been annoyed when he couldn't find Donghae anywhere in the house and Luca had been no fucking use! Somehow, having Luca by his side side didnt make up for not having Donghae...it was like some part of him was missing.

'Am I fucking missing him?' Hyukjae had thought when he hadn't been able to find Donghae anywhere, 'but the damn nerve of him to go with Cecily knowing fucking well that he'll get yelled at!'

"You know what?" said Hyukjae, glancing back, but he stopped abruptly when he saw Donghae lying sprawled on his bed, with one leg thrown carelessly over the side and his hands clutching a pillow tightly to his chest.

"Shit" muttered Jake quietly, and got up. He quietly when across the floor and stood next to Donghae unconscious frame.

His breathing was gentle and Jake suddenly felt like a jerk for screaming at him.

Sighing, Jake slowly pulled Donghae's leg and kept it gently back on to the matress. He pulled up the bed sheets over him, trying hard not to make any sound that might wake Donghae up.

Jake looked at him and smiled lightly. He switched off the bed lights and turned to leave when a slim hand caught his wrist. Glancing down, he saw Donghae looking up at him, his eyes still heavy with sleep.

"Hyukjae?" he whispered, looking confused. Jake felt a shiver run down his spine, for the voice he heard from Donghae was deadly attractive and sensual.

"What are you doing?" he asked, still blinking. His long lashes were clumped together like bold brush strokes...

"What do you think I was doing?" asked Hyukjae looking at him.

Donghae was staring at his glittering gray blue eyes for a second when he realized he was litterally sleeping on his boss's bed.

Jake saw his eyes shoot open and Donghae quickly raised himself from the pillows.

"I'm really sorry! I shouldn't have slept like that-" began Donghae weakly, but Jake stopped him from getting up and pushed him firmly back on to the pillow.

"Go back to sleep" said Jake gently. For a moment, Donghae could do nothimg but stare at Jake's beautiful eyes.

"But-"

"Just don't" cut in Hyukjae with a note of finality in his voice, "I know you're tired"

Without thinking, Donghae gripped Jake's hand that he'd been holding tightly. Something about Jake made him want him desperately.

"Jake?" he whispered, "can I ask you something?"

Sighing, Hyukjae sat down next to him. He waited while Donghae took a huge breath and tried to calm down his hammering heart.

"If" said Donghae and stopped. What in the world was he doing?

"If you want something so damn much- but if you're scared of what might happen if you do that... would you still do it Hyukjae?"

He stared at Donghae for a while without saying anything, why the fuck is he asking this?

He wanted to comfort him. It was the first time he'd ever felt like comforting someone.

"I would" he said looking away "no matter what happens"

He saw Donghae close his eyes and fall back on the pillows. His chest was heaving as if had been running for his life. But before Jake could ask him what was wrong, they both heard a banging on the door.

Donghae knew that it was probably Cecily who couldn't wait to get the party started.

"Jaaaaakkee!!!" they heard her voice coming through the door in a muffled sound, "come out!!"

"What in the world-" muttered Hyukjae standing up "how dare she-"

But he was interrupted when the shouts were followed by another series of bangings

"Open up Jake!! You won't believe what's happening near the pool!!!"

"Just how stupid does she think I am?" asked Hyukjae while Donghae shook his head.

"Just play along for today Hyukjae" said Donghae, trying hard to keep the dissapointment out from his voice.

"Fine" he said moodily.

"JAKE!"

"Go on" said Donghae gently pushing him forward.

"But what about you?" asked Jake looking uncertainly at him.

"I'll be fine" said Donghae thinly, clutching the small box that had the Ying-Yang necklace tightly,

"You hardly need a bodyguard for this"

When he went out, he saw Cecily DeMeo standing infront of the door looking a little high. She was dressed in a purple lowcut frock that showed half of her body which didn't really surprise him.

"So" she said, lacing her hand around his arm "are you just gonna wear that?"

Jake looked down at the blue rough denim, the white loose shirt and Air Max 95 Nike shoes he was wearing and snorted,

"Why? Is it not good enough for you?"

Cecily sighed and stopped walking, she turned Jake towards her and placed a quick kiss on his cheek and straightened his collar.

"You look awesome in anything you wear, you know that right?"

Jake nodded and and she gave him a light smile. "C'mon! It's time to celebrate your birthday!!"

When they went near the pool area, he saw people all around them, but what really amused him was the dead silence.

"I told them not to make any sound coz you might hear it and ruin the surprise" whispered Cecy while Jake rolled his eyes.

"Ok everyone! The party starts NOW!!!" yelled Cecily over the dj mic and music blasted through the huge speakers. Everyone started talking and it became impossible to hear anything else.

"Come on Jake!! Meet the party organiser!" she yelled over the loud music and pulled a heavily tattooed guy who was wearing a black hoody close to her.

"Hey bro" said Nick giving Jake the long-time-no-see thing.

"Hey" said Hyukjae.

"So the bro's finally 23 huh?"

"Yeah" chimed in Cecily, sensing the awkward atmosphere.

"C'mon man" said Nick, giving him a beer "you should have fun y'know?"

Jake gave him a sarcastic smile, "so Evens, where the fuck is my birthday gift then?"

Nick took a cigarette and lit it, "consider the party as my birthday gift to you Maranzano"

Jake snorted and Cecily laughed while Nick Evans looked at them furiously.

"I got you a surprise as well" said Cecily and Jake gave her a look

"What?" he said with a slight smile but his voice was drippimg with sarcasm "free sex?"

Cecily's porcelain face glittered while she waved her hand in a dismissive gesture

"Later" she said, and suddenly thrusted a pair of car keys at him, "your new beauty is parked at the underground car park"

"Thanks Cecy" said Jake and put the keys back to his pocket.

Suddenly he remembered Donghae and Jake's heart began to do a weird little somersault. He felt bad to leave him on his own.

"Excuse me" he said, giving the beer bottle to Cecily "I've got to go and...check something"

"Check what?" asked Cecily who was bent on having revange on him for suggesting free sex, "to see if you have enough condoms?"

Jake turned and gave her a bone chilling look, "you should know how I try hard to keep myself from shooting you"

Cecily gasped while Jake snorted, "be careful when you talk around me Cecily, you should be glad that you didn't end up in the hospital on your first time"

"Jerk" she whispered while Hyukjae turned around and left them both staring after him.

"Well" said Nick throwing the ciggar on the ground qnd trampling it "that was fucking threatning"

Hyukjae ran up the stairs and emtered his room. He saw Donghae still stitting on his bed, looking dejectedly at the white bed sheets.

'So he hadn't left' thought Hyukjae, while his heart raced.

Donghae suddenly looked up at him and his eyes became wide,

"Hyukjae?" he said disbelievingly.
