《Hero- DSMP X Reader Superhero/Supervillain AU》-Chapter One-

You would have thought that being the (daughter/son/child) of the president would make your life easier.
WRONG. COMPLETELY UTTERLY WRONG.
I had to deal with being guarded by heroes all day and I couldn't do anything. Especially not the one thing I actually wanted to do.
Be a hero.
My power wasn't unheard of, but it was still a decent one. I had super senses. I know, it sounds pretty lame, but it could be helpful!
I could hear villains from a mile away! I could see all of their evil plans!
But noooo, just because I was Schlatt's (daughter/son/child) it was 'dangerous'.
I glanced down at the piece of paper in my hands.
Go to Room 101 to meet up with Crepitus and Lucendi. They will be keeping an eye on you today, as there has been an increase in criminal activity in our area. Stay safe.
I glanced around the League of Heroes Headquartes (LoHH for short), incredibly confused.
"What the hell are you doing here?" A voice demanded.
I glanced around to see a man with half black, half white armour, what looked like ski goggles with one red lense and one blue lense covering his eyes, incredibly short hair (so short that he could be mistaken for being bald from not too far away) and a purple fabric mask covering his nose and mouth.
It was Royal, the fourth most popular superhero in L'Manburg.
"Oh- well uh- I was told to come here- Schlatt's my dad- uh-"
He snatched the piece of paper from my hands, reading it quickly and handing it back. "So you're Schlatt's (daughter/son/child)? Sorry I didn't believe you." Even though his face was covered, he had the grace to look a little sheepish. "Y/N, was it? Room 101 is this way."
I nodded, following him quickly as he lead me down a corridor.
I skidded to a halt as I heard an interesting conversation in one of the rooms we passed.
"...Swift and Gemstone can attack from this side, and Azalea and Royal can attack from behind..."
"...crazy! Are you trying to get us killed?"
Royal noticed that I was attempting to peek in the doorway and tapped me on the shoulder gently. "No time for eavesdropping, kid."
"Kid?! I'm the same age as you!" I stared at him in confusion.
"Oh, I know, I'm just messing with you. Room 101 is the first room on the right." He pointed to a room right at the end of the hallway that someone with normal vision wouldn't have been able to see.

I wonder how Royal saw it then... do the lenses on his goggles enhance his vision?
"Kid. Hello? You just gonna ignore me or are you gonna go to meet Crepitus and Lucendi?"
I glanced at him, embarrassed. "Sorry! I'll be going now! It was nice meeting you, Royal!"
I rushed towards the room and heard him mutter, "Strange kid..."
I looked at the door. It was a battered jungle wood door with dents and scratches all over, and it looked like the door was hanging off of its hinges.
I pushed the door open and was met with a burst of heat.
I spotted a man who looked about three years older than me. He had green hair, strange elf-like ears, dark emerald green eyes with black scleras, a forest green gas mask, and black and green armour. He was holding a golden trident, one of the prongs on which was almost bent in half.
I came to the conclusion that it must have been Crepitus, the hero with explosion powers.
He noticed me, immediately standing straighter and turning away from the person he was sparring with.
"Y/N?" Crepitus' voice didn't sound anything like what I'd expected. I'd imagined him to have an incredibly deep voice but it sounded pretty normal.
"That's me."
"Sorry if Sa- Crepitus nearly blew you up." The other person apologised. He had dark brown hair, gold veins criss crossing across one side of his face and a scar across the bridge of his nose. He had a blindfold covering his eyes, and he was wearing the same armour as Crepitus, only it was gold and gray instead. He had a small tattoo of a shark on his neck.
Lucendi, I presume.
"Uh... don't... worry about it?" Damnit that sounded so stupid. My first time meeting the second and third most popular heroes and I mess it up.
Crepitus raised one eyebrow. "Ok..."
"So... was there anything you wanted to do?" Lucendi queried. "Because we kinda have to stick with you everywhere you go... sorry about that."
"I mean... I was just gonna go meet up with some friends..." I said quietly, wishing that I was messing around with Charlie, Quackity and Tommy instead of standing awkwardly in front of two of the biggest heroes in the city.
"Oh... ok! We'll come with you!" Lucendi said brightly, and Crepitus sighed.
"I think Y/N wants to be with their friends without us following them around." The green haired man said pointedly.
"Yeah, but Schlatt won't be too happy if we directly disobey him and lose his kid-"

"I'M LIKE TWO YEARS YOUNGER THAN YOU! WHY IS EVERYONE CALLING ME A KID?!" I snapped. I immediately clapped my hand to my mouth, horrified at what I'd said.
To my surprise, Lucendi burst out laughing, and I heard a few muffled snorts of laughter from Crepitus. They actually think I'm funny?
"So where are you meeting up with them anyway?" Crepitus asked, ignoring Lucendi, who was still laughing.
"The cafe down the road from here." I said, pulling out my phone and showing them the location.
"Oh! I go there all the time!" Lucendi said brightly. "It's great, isn't it?"
"It sure is. I work there, actually." Trying to save enough money to move out. I wasn't going to tell that to two strangers who worked for my dad of course.
"Really?" Crepitus asked, looking surprised. "I don't think I've ever seen you there... oh wait, are you the (your/hair/colour) haired person who always argues with the blonde waiter?"
"Yup. Tommy's an idiot though, so he deserves it." I defended myself.
"Tommy, huh? I used to know someone named Tommy... nice kid. He had this really weird power... can't remember what it was." I glanced at Crepitus, more curious now. How did he know Tommy?
As if he could tell what I was thinking, the hero quickly changed the subject. "Right! The cafe! Let's go!"
"Ok, ok, jeez." I rolled my eyes again.
——
I pushed the door to the cafe open.
I immediately spotted Tommy leaning against the wall behind the counter, looking incredibly bored. He seemed to notice us walk in, but clearly didn't fully register who we were.
"Hello, welcome to Cara's, my name is Tommy, what can I get you- " he stopped and stared, his mouth agape. "Wha- you're- Crepitus- you- and Lucendi-" He stood up straighter, changing his stance and looking a lot more attentive. "Y/N, why are you going around with two of the biggest heroes in the city?"
"My dad doesn't think the streets are very safe, so he told me to go around with these two today." I smiled sheepishly. "Sorry if I forgot to tell you."
"Oh it's fine..." his gaze lingered on Crepitus for a moment before he looked back at me. "So what can I get you?"
As I heard Crepitus mutter something that sounded like, "A black coffee," my gaze landed on two people who were lingering at the back of the shop.
One of them I knew- Quackity- and the other I had no idea.
The person I didn't know turned and whispered something to Quackity, her gaze urgent, and he stared in my direction. He pulled out his phone immediately, calling someone and speaking in a very hushed tone.
"Y/N? Hello? Oi. I asked you what drink do you want." I glanced back at Tommy, realising I had been staring at Quackity and the girl.
"Oh- um.... Just a hot chocolate is fine." I glanced back at Quackity, who had ended the call and was watching the heroes with me closely.
"And uh... Lucendi? What drink do you want?" Tommy asked, watching the blindfolded hero.
"Oh, um... my god, I come here all the time and I still don't know-" We all waited quietly as Lucendi thought about what drink he wanted.
"I'll have a, uh, Pumpkin Spice Latte-" Lucendi didn't even flinch as a knife flew towards him, reaching out and catching it midway through his sentence. "-with an extra shot of Espresso, please," The hero finished, tossing the knife back in the direction it came from.
I turned around to see a ghostly figure flicker out of sight just as the knife hit the spot where he was.
Tommy's eyes widened. "Was that Spectre? I, uh.... I have to go. Sorry. I'll be back soon. Charlie!" He rose his voice to a yell.
One of my other friends, Charlie, a man with fluffy brown hair that had a dyed streak of green and cracked circular glasses, looked over. Tommy nodded towards Spectre, who had picked up the knife again, and then the blonde boy rushed into a room behind the counter.
I stared as Charlie rushed out of the shop, and noticed Crepitus looking as confused as I did. "Weird kids..." I heard him mutter.
I took an awkward step to the side, walking towards Quackity while the heroes were distracted. He looked up, surprised, and his annoyed frown rearranged itself into a warm smile. "Y/N! Glad you could make it!"
"Did you see what just happened?" I asked.
He exchanged an awkward glance with the girl next to him. "Uh.. no, what happened?"
"Someone threw a knife at Lucendi! It was Spectre by the look of it. I think Spectre ran off though."
"Oh, he did, did he?" Quackity said with a small smile I didn't understand.
I sighed as I watched Crepitus run after Spectre, and Lucendi came rushing over.
"We need to get you back to headquarters, Y/N."
I nodded quietly. Just great. Yet another thing that will convince my father to never let me be a hero.
