《Cubits Can't Save You Now (In Progress)》Chapter 30: Entering Boxmore

Cut to the Ed Boys as they watch Major Nixel and Boxman argue about blimps and airships. Eddy watched them in annoyance while Edd and Ed watched them in confusion and interest.
"Are they even done yet?" Questioned Eddy.
"Patience Eddy, I'm sure they'll settle their argument sooner or later." Edd told Eddy.
"Pssh, in a million years they will." Muttered Eddy.
Eddy then looked at the cracks in the wall and since the argument between Major Nixel and Boxman are really getting on Eddy's nerves, he decided that whatever happening inside of the building that Major Nixel's airship crashed into would be more interesting than the argument altogether. Eddy got up from his seat and walked towards the cracks on the side of the building. He peeked through the cracks, which gave him a wide view of all of the robots and the machinery going on inside of Boxmore, which hadn't really satisfied Eddy's need for excitement, but it was at least more interesting than the argument. However, Corrupted Krader, and a big pile of The Darkness suddenly glitched in the middle of Boxmore, their glitching noises echoing throughout the building.
Eddy blinked twice, and then he looked back at Major Nixel, who was still arguing with Boxman.
"OKAY, FINE! I'LL GET YOU A LADDER SO WE CAN FIGHT, BUT I'LL HOLD IT SO THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE IT FROM ME!" Major Nixel shouted at Boxman.
"SO WHAT IF I STEAL YOUR STUPID LADDER!? YOU DON'T HAVE ANY ROBOTS TO FIGHT ME AND STEAL THE STUPID LADDER BACK!" Boxman shouted back.
Suddenly, crashing noises were heard from inside of Boxmore, which caused Eddy to immediately look back at the inside of the building. Inside Boxmore, the corrupted cartoons were destroying quite literally everything from inside, including the robots who tried to attack them. Not only that, but The Darkness was growing quite quickly, and it filled up Boxmore as it grew. Eddy walked towards Major Nixel as he continued to argue with Boxman about whether his airship was a blimp or not.

"HEY, MAJOR LUMPY! THERE'S SOMETHING GOING ON!" Eddy yelled at Major Nixel.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" Barked Major Nixel.
Eddy pointed at the cracks in the wall, which are currently leaking The Darkness.
"...What about those cracks in the wall?" Questioned Major Nixel.
"It's filling up with glitchy slime, what do I do with it?" Eddy told Major Nixel.
"Well, I don't know what to do with them, you try to do something about it." Said Major Nixel.
Cut to a close-up the cracks, where we see The Darkness leaking out of them. However, The Darkness is seen slithering towards Eddy and Major Nixel from under their feet, and only then did Eddy see The Darkness.
"Hey, Major Nixel?" Asked Eddy.
"I told you, I don't know what to do with the slime." Major Nixel told Eddy.
"No, it's just that the slime's under us right now." Corrected Eddy.
"What are you talking about?" Questioned Major Nixel.
Eddy pointed down at his feet in which The Darkness was under, but before Major Nixel could look at Eddy's feet, the two suddenly glitched into the inside of Boxmore. However, they were on the floor, but under a dome under all of the mass of The Darkness.
"..Okay, is this what you meant?" Asked Major Nixel.
"Uh.. I guess, I don't know." Assumed Eddy.
The screeching noise of static surrounded the two, as they were trapped inside of The Darkness, with seemingly no way put without getting themselves corrupted.
"Ø-hö-hõh, whå-äț īđîőţ§.." Said a deep, glitchy voice.
"Ýøu bõţh måđə @ hüģė m!śţåķë mīńğ ťhė öppőřţųñìţý øf ã łīfėțíme.."
Eddy blinked twice and asked the voice what the heck he meant by "opportunity of a lifetime". The voice said that it only wanted to visit everyone's universe and grant them happiness by making them see what they want to see using its "wonder slime", which hadn't really made sense to Major Nixel and Eddy. The voice explained that the reason it didn't use its "wonder slime" on Eddy and Major Nixel was because the two were already special with Major Nixel already having a massive army and Eddy with his high self-esteem and scamming skills.

"Oh yeah? Then why's everyone afraid of this 'wonder slime'?" Questioned Eddy.
"Įť'§ țhė śm!łėş øf ěvėřýøņė whø wıľłïņğłý ćhėŕįşhəđ mý wöńđęř §ļìmê." Said the voice.
"Ťhëý šćąřę øff šö mãņý pę-ə-ê-ėöpľė wįţhøúţ ķñøwïņğ."
"Let me guess, you need our help to spread your 'wonder slime' since you and your 'customers' are to scary to do so?" Assumed Major Nixel.
"Ī... ýêś, ëxäçťłý. Ňőw ğô ãņđ §přêäđ mý ģįfť țø ţhę můłť!vêŕşě." Said the voice.
Cut to Edd and Ed, who are currently looking for Eddy and Major Nixel.
"Eddy? Eddy, where are you and Major Nixel?" Shouted Edd.
"EDDY WHERE ARE YOU!?" Yelled Ed as he unknowingly walked towards a hatch which led to the inside of the airship.
Ed then fell into the hatch, slamming face-first onto the floor, which caused a nixel (which was in a drawer under the broken control panel) to yelp and close the drawer he was in. Ed got up and walked towards the drawer to open it, only he accidentally pulled the drawer out. The nixel inside yelped again at the sight of Ed. Ed walked towards the hatch and climbed up the ladder, still holding the drawer that had a nixel in it.
"DOUBLE D! I FOUND A KITTY CAT!" Shouted Ed.
Edd turned his head towards Ed and then walked towards him, but then his eyes laid on the drawer with a scared, shaking nixel in it.
"Ed, that is not a cat, that must be one of Major Nixel's assistants." Said Edd.
Ed looked at the scared nixel, and then back at Edd, and then back at the nixel.
"...Looks like a kitty cat to me!" Exclaimed Ed.
Major Nixel and Eddy then glitched back onto the airship.
"..I can tell I'm probably gonna be out-scammed and then I'll be the suck for embarrassment." Said Eddy.
"Agreed." Replied Major Nixel.
(Fun Fact: When Eddy said "the suck for embarrassment", it was a reference to an episode of Suction Cup Man called "The Suck For America".)
Ed saw Major Nixel and Eddy and then he ran towards Edd to remind him of them, and then he and Edd ran towards Eddy to give them a hug before being pushed away by Eddy since he doesn't want to be embarrassed by being hugged in public.
"Guys, calm down. I know I'm the best, but you don't have to hug me." Complained Eddy.
Suddenly, some whirring was heard in the distance. The cartoons on the airship looked under the airship, only to find a giant Jethro bot rolling towards the airship. When it was done rolling, a ladder with a stern-looking Boxman rolled up from a tube on top on the giant Jethro. The ladder kept rolling up to the airship, Boxman and Major Nixel were now at eye level.
"Since you took so long to get the ladder, I gave up and built this giant Jethro just so we can finally get this argument settled." Explained Boxman.
"Why can't you just agree that my AIRSHIP is what it is and LEAVE ME ALONE." Major Nixel told Boxman.
"BECAUSE NO AIRSHIP I'VE SEEN IS THAT ROUND!" Protested Boxman.
"TOO BAD, IT'S A ROUND AIRSHIP! GET USED TO IT!" Shouted Major Nixel.
"I HAVE A BETTER IDEA, AGREE THAT IT'S A BLIMP!"
"NEVER!"
"DO IT AND WE CAN FORGET ABOUT THIS WHOLE ARGUMENT!
"SHUT UP, AND ALSO NO TO THAT! IT'S AN AIRSHIP AND YOU KNOW IT!"

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
