《Cubits Can't Save You Now (In Progress)》Chapter 6: Breaking the 4th Wall

The tribal leaders looked in shock as they realized Flurr sacrificed himself to save the rest of the tribal leaders. Flamzer started to shed a tear, and then he saw down and covered his eye with his two arms.
"Why'd Flain have to go?" Cried Flamzer.
Flamzer then started to cry, and then Teslo sniffed and hugged Flamzer, crying along with him.
"Those two mixels were true heroes, they sacrificed themse-e-elves just to save us." Said Kraw.
Gobba walked over to pat Teslo's back, but then he noticed all of the portals on every space of the walls in the dark blue hallway. Little did they know, they have already shattered the 4th wall.
"Could you please hold onto my special glow-in-the-dark sparkle stone ring?" Asked a blue ballerina girl with purple hair in one portal.
"Heya kids, it's that time again!" Exclaimed a purple fox wearing a red turtleneck sweater in another portal.
"Octo-Block, draw!" Shouted a magenta creature with many tentacles in yet another portal.
"..Where are we now?" Asked Gobba.
Teslo got up and looked around, cautiously. What kind of place is this, and what was that glitchy slime-like substance, anyway? The other three mixels followed, eyeing the various distinctive portals that they saw everywhere they looked.
"A one! A two! A one, two, three, four!" Shouted a childlike voice.
After the childlike voice was heard, guitar music began to play. Kraw looked to his right to see a human in a red beanie and a green dress playing what he thought was the guitar but was actually a ukulele next to a navy-colored cat.
(A/N: Credits to Glitchy Yoshi for helping me remember Peg plays the ukulele, not the guitar.)
"Peg plus cat!" Sang the human.
The cat scatted when the human sang. Kraw crawled closer to the portal, listening to the ukulele music. Meanwhile, the other three decided to stop as Teslo heard Kraw singing along. Gobba looked behind himself and ran towards Kraw.

"Hey, what'cha singing to?" Asked Gobba with a smile.
"AGH, NOTHING!" Shouted Kraw in embarrassment.
Gobba looked at the portal, spotting a human and a navy-colored cat.
"..Oh, this looks cool!" Said Gobba.
"Gobba, focus! We have lives to save." Teslo told Gobba.
"Yeah!" Agreed Flamzer.
Gobba and Kraw looked at Teslo and then the four mixels continued their exploration in this mysterious hallway.
"What was that?" Asked a voice.
Flamzer looked to his right to see a portal that included a blue girl with purple hair (except she wasn't a ballerina) and her friends facing off against the exact same glitchy goop he and many other mixels have faced.
"IT'S COMING! RUN!" Shouted the blue girl.
The other three mixels looked at the portal in curiosity, worry, and shock. Gobba tried to go into the portal, but Teslo was pulling him away due to him not wanting himself and the other mixels falling into the glitchy goop.
"COME ON, WE'VE GOTS TO SAVE THEM!" Shouted Gobba.
"But what if we fall into the glitchy stuff instead? We can't risk that!" Teslo told Gobba.
Flamzer and Kraw also started to pull Gobba away. However, the mixels suddenly heard the red beanie human from earlier yelp, and Gobba and Kraw ran after the portal. In the portal, the human and her cat saw a pile of glitchy goop, almost exactly like in the portal to the blue girl's home.
"AGH, NOT THOSE GUYS!" Shouted Kraw and Gobba.
Before Teslo and Flamzer could try and stop the other two mixels, Kraw and Gobba had already jumped into the portal, causing Teslo and Flamzer to face-palm themselves in unison. Speaking of which, Peg & Cat were backing away from the glitchy goop, a worried feeling stirring ahead. However, Peg & Cat suddenly heard far-away screaming. The screaming grew closer and closer and before the duo knew it, a giant orange crab and a brown who-knows-what grabbed them and jumped somewhere, except it was an invisible portal to a dark blue hallway that had two more creatures Peg & Cat had never met before.

"Hi, everybody!" Greeted Cat.
Gobba and Kraw put Peg & Cat down, but then the two mixels lined up in front of the duo.
"Ahem, I'm Gobba and this is Kraw, Flamzer, and Teslo!" Introduced Gobba.
"No, this ain't our home, we're here right now because ours is infected by the same goop you guys were facing!"
"..Okay. I'm Peg and this is Cat." Said Peg.
"So how did you get to our place?"
Kraw and Gobba suddenly got confused. They thought she would know how she got here from the millions of portals all around the group of kids' show characters.
"Uh, the portals?" Said Cat.
"Yeah, those things! I don't know why, but they're everywhere in here!" Exclaimed Gobba.
"Can I have a chance to talk to it?" Kraw whispered to Gobba.
"Oh, go ahead!" Gobba whispered back.
*Commercial Break*
"I know that you're wondering what we are. It's kinda obvious." Kraw told Peg.
"We're mixels and we-e-e're also kinda not supposed to be here, but we had to go here in order to survive. The glitchy goo-o-o-op took over Tentro, Flain, Flurr, and possibly even almo-o-ost every other mixel!"
Cut to Peg & Cat, looking worried at the things the mixels in front of them have faced due to the glitchy goop.
"I thought it was just evil slime!" Said Cat.
"Yeah, that's what I thought too at first!" Flamzer told Cat.
"However, there's much more to it than just corrupting OUR friends, what if it corrupts everyone in these portals? What if it corrupts the entire GALAXY!?"
Teslo grabbed Flamzer and started to shake him rapidly to try to calm the Infernite down.
"Flamzer, get a grip! That'll happen if we don't do something about it at all!" Teslo told Flamzer.
Cut to a close-up of Teslo.
"Besides, being nixed is similar to being corrupted by that.. glitchy substance." Continued Teslo.
Fade to a white void with a few colored silhouettes of background mixels and recognizable cartoon characters.
"When someone is nixed," Said Teslo, and then the colored silhouettes of background mixels turned gray.
"They're turned into mindless zombies and it can hurt the hearts of anyone who sees that.."
The colored silhouettes of recognizable characters turned black and glitchy.
"And the glitchy substance isn't any different from that characteristic. But with the power of a cubit,"
The gray silhouettes turned into a cubit pattern, and then back to their original colors.
"They can be cured almost instantly, although we don't actually know if it works like that the same way for the glitchy substance."
The scene fades back to a close-up of Teslo.
"It may be a hypothesis, but it's one that we may need in order to survive this apocalypse so we'll need to collect as many cubits as we can just in case." Said Teslo.
Cut back a medium shot of the group of cartoon characters.
"Salutations, sir!" Exclaimed a masculine voice.
The voice appeared so suddenly, it made Peg, Cat, Flamzer, and Gobba jump.
"May I please enter? I have some urgent information to communicate with my pal, Moony." Said the voice again.

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
