Gabby opened her eyes slowly. The room was dark, she adjusted her vision to see where she was. Then a tiny arm wrapped around her.

Allie.

"Mommy?" Allie called her quietly.

"Yes, baby?" Gabby replied.

"I'm scared. Daddy was mad." Allie sniffled.

"I know, baby." Gabby tried to move but she was hurting all over her body. "Fuck."

"Are you okay, Mommy?" Allie helped Gabby to move.

"I'm fine, baby. Don't worry." Gabby felt her ribs hurt a lot. "Let's get out of here."

"Where to, Mommy?" Gabby looked at her daughter.

"We find a place to stay at night, mommy needs to take care of something first and then we will go home for a moment. Okay?" Gabby explained.

"Where is our home?" Allie asked.

Jordan's. Gabby answered to herself. "I don't know yet. But for now, help mommy packing two bags, okay?" Gabby kissed Allie's head.

"Yes, Mommy." Allie nodded.

She started to search for her ID and her other files. She needed to find a lawyer to take care of her divorce, she wanted a full custody of Allie. She didn't want him near her baby girl anymore. That man was too dangerous.

But where she could find a lawyer to help her if she didn't have enough money? Gabby sighed, she knew she had nothing left on her except some money to keep the both of them alive for a few days and for Allie's education.

"Where's your daddy?" Gabby asked when she had two bags packed.

"He was out when you slept." Gabby smiled, slept was understatement though. She passed out because her husband punched her so hard.

"Okay, come on. Let's go." Gabby took Allie's hand and she walked out from the apartment wearing a hoodie so she could cover her bruises.

She was on her way to a nearest hotel from Steve's apartment when someone called her, and Allie knew who that person was and Gabby cursed under her breath.

"Uncle B!" Allie screamed in joy.

"Hey, princess!" Brandon walked towards them.

Allie ran, Brandon was just about to get in his car across from the hotel where Gabby and Allie was supposed to check in.

Brandon lifted Allie up. "What are you doing here?"

Allie pointed her mother. Gabby smiled at him tiredly. Brandon furrowed his brows, there must be something wrong with them. Brandon walked towards Gabby and found out that Gabby's face was full of bruises.

"What the hell happened?" Brandon asked in concern.

"Uh, I fell." Gabby smiled awkwardly.

Brandon shook his head. He wasn't stupid. He knew her story because Jordan told him about Gabby one time. "Allie, cover your ears, princess."

Gabby raised her eyebrows, Allie nodded and followed what Brandon had asked. She covered her ears and looking at both Brandon and Gabby back and forth.

"Don't fucking lie to me, Gab. I knew what the fuck happened to you back there and don't fucking act like you're okay because clearly, you are fucking not." Brandon said.

Tears streaming down her face. She couldn't lie but she couldn't tell him what happened to her. She didn't want to drag someone else into her fucked up life again.

"Come home with me. I have a spare bedroom. My boyfriend is not nosey, don't worry. And I will not let you sleep in the hotel." Brandon said firmly. "And for the record, I don't take a no for my offer."

Gabby didn't say anything. She just cried all the way home to Brandon's place. Allie didn't say anything either, she saw what happened to her mother and it scared her.

Gabby ended up telling Brandon her full story. Allie was playing with Ethan -Brandon's boyfriend- to distract the little girl. Brandon even cried when Gabby ended her story about what happened earlier in her house.

"Please, I beg you please, don't tell Jordan. I don't want her seeing me like this." Gabby said, wiping her tears off.

Brandon nodded. "You know," Brandon sniffled. "I was mad at you because you left her when she finally had moved on. But when I heard what happened to you, I didn't blame you. I see both sides and I'm no one to judge."

"Thank you." Gabby said.

"And just so you know, I can help you." Brandon said.

"Oh, no." Gabby shook her head. "You're helping me by staying here is enough, Brand. I don't want to bother you with my problem. Let me take care of my problems by myself, please."

"Not happening." Brandon smiled. "Like I said, I don't take a no for my offer."

Gabby burst into tears. "Why are you so nice to me? I don't know you for years, yet you are so kind to me."

Brandon patted her shoulder. "I'm just doing what I can do for other people before it's too late. I know how you feel, Gab. Because I felt that too. I was raised in homophobic family. My father used to beat the shit out of me and he disowned me once he knew I was gay."

Brandon paused. "My uncle from my mother's side helped me to go from that house at the age of eighteen, he helped me through everything because he was gay too. He knew how I felt at that time when I was so down low at my weakest point and it felt so bad. That's why while I have the chance, I'm willing to help you. I don't want you to feel the lowest because you're not only taking care of yourself, but you're taking care of your daughter too. Let my uncle takes care of your case for free, because I will beat the shit out of him if he doesn't want to help you."

Gabby jumped immediately and hugged Brandon. Both of them were so emotional, Brandon felt so relieve when he knew Gabby said yes and let him helped her. Gabby didn't stop 'thank you-ing' Brandon until Brandon told her to stop and they both chuckled.

Gabby felt so blessed more than anything. She didn't know her life would turn so fast since she met Jordan, she didn't know that six months ago when she laid down on Jordan's terrace brought her to this point of life. She was blessed with these lovely people, she met Brandon, her second lifesaver and she hoped she could do everything to get Jordan's trust back because no kidding, she fucking missed the older woman so much.

A week later, Jordan waited impatiently in the parking lot of the court. She was here an hour ago because she was late, no one told her about Gabby's case at all, she couldn't enter the court since it was in the middle of processing.

Jordan leaned on her car, crossing her ankle and tilted her head down. She was anxious, it had been a while since she met Gabby. She didn't know what happened to her ex lover because Brandon kept his promise not to tell Jordan about Steven's abusiveness to Gabby.

Eventually, Brandon told her and she was furious. She blamed herself because she didn't hold Gabby harder and she blamed Gabby for being so stupid, why did she put her life in danger knowing her husband just 'had changed'?

Jordan sighed heavily, her heart was pounding because she didn't know what to do if she met Gabby again. Sure, Gabby didn't know that Jordan was waiting for her outside the court. She just wanted to get out of this place and started her single parent life.

Jordan had made up her mind. She didn't want to hold her silence anymore. She needed to tell her. She didn't want to lose her anymore. She didn't want to do anything stupid anymore because she knew she loved the younger woman too.

Jordan smiled, she hoped that Gabby would accept her again even though Gabby just got out from her hell hole. Then she heard some footsteps getting closer to her. She looked up to see Brandon, Ethan, Chris -Brandon's uncle-, Allie and Gabby.

Gabby looked so tired yet happy. There was no fear on her face, there was only relieved, like she was free from something that burdened her all the years she lived. They didn't notice Jordan at first, but the little girl always knew that Jordan was always be there for her and her mother.

"Jordan!" Allie screamed in excitement.

She didn't know she was crying. She knew she was just a kid, but when she saw Jordan, she felt alive again. Jordan herself couldn't contain her happiness. She was crying knowing what the little girl had been through, Allie went through a lot at young age.

Allie ran into her. Jordan lifted her up once the little girl came closer to her. "I missed you, princess. I missed you."

"I missed you too." Allie cried, Jordan patted her back.

Then she looked at Allie's mother. She was still beautiful as always, she looked thinner than the last time she saw her but she looked healthy. Jordan smiled, she really wanted to tell Gabby but Brandon interrupted her.

"Okay, here's your ride, Gab." Brandon joked.

Jordan wiped her tears. "Shut up, Brand."

"Alright ladies, have a good night." Chris said, bowing his head down.

"Thank you, Chris." Jordan shook his hand.

"No problem, Jordan." Chris winked. "Just take care of this young man, he is wilder now."

"Shush!" Brandon pushed his uncle lightly. "Go now. Bye, Chris."

Chris rolled his eyes. "So ungrateful."

They all laughed, Chris then bid them his good bye. Then Brandon and Ethan said their byes to Gabby and Jordan, they knew they needed to give the ladies space to talk since they didn't do that for a while.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jordan found herself asking.

"I didn't want you to know how bad it was." Gabby replied.

"You know I always here for you." Jordan said.

"That's why I don't want you to know. I don't want to drag you into my personal issues, Jordan. You've done enough for me and I don't want you to––"

"Stop." Jordan cut her off. "I don't want to hear your ramble right now. What's done is done. You're free now, aren't you?"

"Yeah." Gabby smiled for the first time.

"Okay, Ms. Rodriguez. Can we have a dinner, please? I'm starving." Jordan joked.

Gabby couldn't hold her tears, she was so emotional now that she was free from her abusive ex husband. She didn't know what future would bring to her, but she didn't care about everything else because all she had ever wanted in life was right in front of her.

Gabby kissed Jordan's all of sudden. She felt the same sensation when she kissed the older woman. Jordan closed her eyes, she knew now that she was right after all.

Allie cut their moment by sliding her index finger between Jordan's and Gabby's lips. Both the adult women chuckled, they parted afterwards.

"No kissing in front of a kid, please." Allie said.

Jordan gawked. "Are you really a five years old kid?"

"Yes, Ms. Neel, I am." Allie giggled.

"You're something else." Jordan kissed Allie's cheek.

Gabby caressed Jordan's cheek with the same lovingly eyes she had ever had with her. "I love you. I still do. I'm sorry that I left you."

Jordan shook her head to tell Gabby it was okay. Then she smiled, her heart started to pound again. She hated it when she couldn't do that. But she knew she wouldn't wait any longer and she wouldn't let the chance go. Losing Gabby once was enough to torture her every day.

"I love you too, Gabby."
