We walk outside and see Ty and Adam dancing. "What are y'all doing?" Adam points somewhere in the distance, "There's a festival going on. Let's go after we eat." I nod my head as we start walking, "Yeah, we can."
We walk to a famous restaurant, "I love how everything is walking distance." Kylie states as we get seated at our table, "I made sure I brought a house so we wouldn't have to do a lot of driving around." We sit down on a pillow and a man comes to our table and introduce himself. "They're cooking in front of us. This is so fun!" The man bows his head at Rylee with a smile on his face.
He pours an live octopus on the stove and Haven eyes widen. She shakes her head, "What's wrong?" Before she could say anything, Jay beats her to it, "It's alive! You're going to kill it in front of us?! No! Why?!" The man nods his head and pulls out a knife.
Haven quickly covers her eyes and Jay looks away. "It's still moving after he cut it in half." Ty says as he gets a closer look. He cooks the octopus and sets it in front of all of us. I grab my chopsticks and take a piece and put it in my mouth. "This is actually good." Haven grab her chopsticks and I look at her with an arch eyebrow, "You know how to use chopsticks?" She looks at her hand and then slowly nods her head.
She didn't even realize that she knew how to use them. It's like it came to her like second nature. I want to ask Haven about her time in this basement. How did they treat her? What did they usually do throughout the day?
I feel Haven poking me, "Yes? What's wrong?" She points at her plate, "I don't like the green ones." I look at her plate and see that she pushed all of the green peppers to the side, "It's okay, you don't have to eat them." We continue to eat as the man cook in front of us.
After we finished eating, we head out towards the festival. "They have a shooting game! Come on, Jay lets play." Rylee pulls Jay towards the game and Haven follows them. I pick up the gun and look at Haven, "Want something?" She nods her head and I laugh. We pay the man and shoot at everything in the booth. Of course, we both win, "Pick out what you want."
She points at two rings, "One for me, one for you. Another birthday present." She smiles up at me and I take the ring, "We have to find us some chains. I want to wear mine around my neck. You can wear yours on your finger." She puts the ring on her left ring finger and I put the ring in my pocket. "This finger means I'm with you forever."

She shows me her hand and I lightly touch it, "How did you know what this finger represented?" She looks at her hand, "Jay told me." Before I could say anything she points at a cotton candy stand, "I want to try it." She pulls me towards the stand and I buy her one. She tears off a piece and put it in her mouth, "Sweet." I laugh as we walk around, "It is candy."
I see a poster hanging up and I read it, "You want to watch some fireworks?" She looks at the poster with a questioning look, "Fireworks?" I nod my head and grab her hand, "I can show you better than I can tell you."
Niall takes me to an open field with a lot of other people. "They'll start in a few minutes." Jay and everybody else comes up to us. "Is this going to be your first time watching fireworks?" I nod my head at Jay question and he smiles at me.
Jay helped me pick out Niall birthday gift. I was happy when he told me he would help me.
BANG. BANG. BANG.
I grab Niall arm and he laughs at me. "Look at the sky." I hear him over the loud noise. I look up and see many colors in the sky. I let go of Niall's arm and smile up at the colorful sky. "Pretty."
Many more colors fill the sky as time past by. I look at Niall and see him looking up at the sky. He looks at me and laughs, "Why are looking at me? Look at the fireworks." I smile at him and hug him, "I like looking at you!"
He hugs me back, "The fireworks look way better than me." He whispers to me, I let go of him and look at the sky again.
"I knew you come back." I hear a woman voice whisper behind me. I turn around and see no one behind me. I look around and I see a woman in all black. I follow her, "Haven. Haven! Where are you going?!"
The woman starts running, "Her smell, her voice." I run after her, "Her smell, her voice." She runs faster and I try to catch up to her.
"Haven!! What the hell is your problem?!" Niall squeezes my arms as I look at the woman back. She's still running, I'm not behind her anymore. Why is she running away from me? "Her smell, her voice."
Out of nowhere Haven runs off, "Haven! Answer me!" She looks at me with teary eyes, "Her smell, her voice."
"Why did you run off?! I called your name so many times and you ignored me! Why?!" Jay and the others catch up to us, "What happened?" I grab Haven by her forearm, "I don't know, she won't talk. We're going back to the house. Y'all can stay." I walk ahead without hearing a response.

"I can't believe you just ran off like that. Do you know what could have happened to you?!" She stays quiet as I drag her to the house. As soon as we get in the house I let her arm go. I slam the door, "Haven!! Answer me!!" She finally looks at me, "Her smell, her voice."
I slam my fist on the counter top, "What the fuck are you talking about?! Do you know what you just did?! You just ran off in the place you were kidnapped! What happened if he could have gotten you?!" She continues to stare at me with a distant look, I groan in frustration, "I'm done! I can't keep doing this with you. You're going to tell me what happened during your time in the basement. I don't care if you want to or not. You're telling me."
She quickly shakes her head and I walk up to her. I pick her up and throw her over my shoulders, "I can't keep staying in the dark. I have to know something. We're going to stay up until you finish telling me everything." I hear her sniffle as we walk in our room, "I'm scared."
I put her down and she falls to her knees, "I don't like it here. It scares me." I bend down in front of her, "I told you before that you don't have to be scared. I'm here with you. Nothing's going to happen to you." She wipes her tears away and looks up at me, "Can I take a bath first?" I show her a small smile, "Yes, but when you get out you have to tell me. I'm not doing this to hurt you, I'm doing this to help you."
Thirty minutes later we are sitting on the bed facing each other. "Start from where you can remember. You can take a break anytime."
"Haven, my angel. Wake up for daddy." A man calls out to Haven who is sleeping. Haven slowly wakes up as a group of women comes running in to clean her up. Haven has gotten used to this routine. The man who calls himself daddy whenever he wakes her up, the group of women who come in to clean her.
"Won't you say something? Daddy would love to hear your beautiful voice." Haven ignores the man as she looks at one woman. The woman smiles at Haven, "I'll be back in a few with your breakfast. I'll teach you some more about our language." Haven has only opened up to one person since she's been in this place.
Soon everybody leaves Haven by herself and she starts walking around. She hears people, but she can't see them. "I told you I'll be back. Come sit down and eat." Haven doesn't understand why she's so different from everyone else, why is this woman treating her like she's special.
Haven sits in front of the woman and starts eating, "The lights will turn on soon, so don't get scared when you hear a noise." The woman starts teaching Haven more about their language. Although Haven doesn't know what some words mean, she still knows how to talk in the language.
All of a sudden the lights turn on. The woman already knows what's going on. She already knows that everyday people come to look at Haven as if she's an object, but Haven doesn't know that. Haven thinks she's in a basement.
It's the same thing every day. Haven wakes up, gets cleaned, eats breakfast, and learn a language.
Later on in the day, the man comes in. Haven runs to furthest place opposite of him. "Don't be scared, I just came in here to tell you I'm proud of you. You made daddy happy today." Haven shakes her head and starts crying, "I-I don't like you. I want the other person. T-The lady."
The man has been getting annoyed over the fact that Haven wants Hana every day. "Why do you want her? She does nothing for you." Haven sits on the floor and hugs herself as he gets closer to her, "AHHH!!!" Haven screams and all of a sudden the man hits her, "Shut the fuck up!!"
Haven looks at the man with wide eyes. Her eyes fill with terror, he's never hit her before. He would just threaten her, but today he hit her. "Come here." He demands softly, Haven shakes her head.
The man blood boils at her stubbornness. He walks up to her and grabs her by the neck, "When I say do something you do it! I don't care if you want to or not!" He picks her up by the neck and throws her on the bed. "Skip dinner for tonight. I hope you had a filling breakfast and lunch."
Haven cries and cries as she is left alone once again. Haven eventually cries herself to sleep.
Hours later Hana comes running in and wakes Haven up. "Wake up!! Someone's here to help you!!" Haven wakes up and Hana shows her a picture, "Take this picture! If you see him do whatever he tells you to do. He's here to help you."
A group of men bust through the door and Haven cowards back. "You come." Hana shows Haven a sad smile, "I wish I could, but I can't." A man puts his jacket over Haven naked body and picks her up.
Haven tries to fight out of his arms to reach towards Hana. Haven starts crying and screaming as the men run further away from Hana. Haven starts hitting the man on his head and screaming, "HANA!!!"
That was the first and last time Haven said Hana name. As time pass Haven forgets all about Hana.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
