I woke up with a banging headache and no memories of what had happened. I looked down at myself, I opened my eyes wider when I notice I had bruises all over my body. I rubbing my eyes but the bruises were still there. They were blue, purple, red and huge. I tried moving my head but my neck felt extremely sore. It hurt really bad. Then I began tried sitting up but my back, I could barely move a muscle. I was worn out and I had no idea why. The only thing I remember was being shocked. Was that why? I closed my eyes and tried remembering as much as possible but I couldn't see anything passed being shocked. Shit, is my hand tied to the bed post. I pulled but I was now to weak to even use any sort of strength. I began calling out to anybody. "LUCA!" I called out. But my voice echoed through the house.
At leas thats what it seems like.
I stopped trying. Then I heard footsteps and a mysterious man appeared in the door. "Luca had asked me look over you. My apologize for not being here. I made a stop to pick up breakfast and some medicine for your pain. He gave me a bottle water and something that seems like Oxycodone. He practically forced it down my throat when I refused. "What the hell happened to me!?" I yelled.
"It is not my place to tell you. Luca should be returning soon."
"I don't want to wait! I want to know NOW!" I yelled but he just walked out of the room. "UNTIE ME!" I yelled again and again. Forgetting about my sore throat, but in the process I lose my voice. I couldn't talk from all the yelling I had been doing.

The stranger came in an hour later with a tray of food and tea. I looked at him shocked. When he came closer to me I threw the tray off my lap, making it go everywhere. "Stop!" my sore voice tried yelling. But I was drained of energy, so I slumped back and began crying.
What happened. Why was I here with no memories? I tried my hardest to remember as he cleaned up the mess. Why was I so hurt? Both physically and mentally.
Stop crying
I heard a voice inside of my head. "Who's there!"
"My wolf!? And how the hell... I'm not an Alpha!" I whispered yelled.
"But I don't want this! I don't. I don't! I DON'T!" I yelled, crying even more and sobbing. I had no idea what happened. All this happened and all that time I was gone? I was here but my mind was not. My so called wolf tried talking to me again but I refused to listen. Instead I tried telling him to shut up until he began getting louder. I was now hitting my head with my free hand like a crazy person as I tried to get him out of my head.
He growled in my mind, loudly. Then, memories, memories began to flood my mind. It was a rewind button and now I was feeling Luca close to me. Then I felt pleasure. But then... I saw blood dripping from my mouth. "I didn't kill somebody.... I didn't." I closed my eyes and pushed myself up on the headboard. Panting hard, I was scared. I didn't want this yet Luca was forcing me too and now I was helpless.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
