《Possessive Vampire (boyxboy) [Completed]》Chapter Twenty-One

I walked down the empty cold streets of this city. It was now night time and I was in search for my prey for the night. It's been a while since I had something good to kill and bite. My parents have been strict with me being careful of where prey so I go to different cities each time so no one would suspect a thing. But this city was calling my name for some reason and I couldn't help it. Even though I've already been here, I needed to see what all the fuss was about. I entered it and it was empty, everyone must have been asleep for obvious reasons.
As I kept walking down, further. I heard some crying and a scent hit me. It was full force and it smelled so sweet. Whatever it was. It was full of innocence. So warm and welcoming. But this smell also came with distress and I was to figure out what it was. As I followed the wonderful smell I found myself stopped in front of a church. There was a baby in a blue blanket. The only thing visible was his face. I carefully reached for him, then hugged him close to me. Trying to keep him warm. I touched his chubby cheeks with my finger and smiled at him.
At this moment I knew,I needed to protect this baby. I couldn't leave him with humans. I carried him out of the city. But I know if I kept him with me, they would eat him alive. I entered woods where I knew a pack would be. They would most likely take him as their own since they have the caring hearts. While in a way, I am dead. I went all the way to the borderline and put him in a pile of leaves, but not before kissing his forehead.

"I'll come back for you, I promise."
"When were hunting in the woods for some food. It was almost winter and most animals would hibernate and we needed to get as much food as possible. Then we found you, crying and cold. The only thing you had was a warm blanket. The smell of Luca too. We had already known him. But he left you in the cold and we couldn't forgive him for leaving an almost newborn baby there. So we kept him away. Then you turned fourteen and Luca became more persistent because now he wanted to get to know you. But you were so young, Luca became obsessed. Then you grew older and it became harder since you were on your own and all."
"You were hunting? Are you saying you guys are too- vampires?" I gulped and looked at them with scared eyes.
"No, we are werewolves. We took you in as our own and ever since you've been part of this pack." dad explained. "We always loved you, ever since we found you." I couldn't believe this.
"Please try to understand Darren, all we ever wanted was the best for you. We would have accepted Luca but he was long gone when we met him and he would lock you down and force his mark on you. We never wanted this for you."
"I- just need time alone to think." At this point. I had no idea what to think. It meant that he wasn't my real dad. These weren't my real brothers. Then who were my real family, I wasn't good enough for them? Instead they leave me in the woods with wolves that were looking for food? There are so many questions that will go unanswered and all I have to do was accept it? No way in hell will I ever accept this.

But all this didn't stop my parents and sibling from still keeping a good eye on me. "You need to eat Darren." I would eat in my room. Not with people who lied to me.

Ghosts and spirits are outside of his specialty, and heaven help him if he has to cast actual spells, but Riordan isn't going to make this easy on his enemies. Even if that means breaking his long exile, turning to the local shifter community for help, and dealing with a bureaucratic department of mages. And don't even get him started on getting licked by a damn spirit bear. Now he just needs to figure out what will kill him first: his enemies, his past, or his own attempts at using magic? Or will Riordan beat the odds and prove that honey badgers really are that hard to kill? If so, what will he do with a life once hung upon a tree that's more than a tree? A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
