《Harfan Maula》1.5 • Giggles & Glares

“So how was your first day at the office?” Aarini asked Anika while serving herself a big spoon of Veg Biryani.
“It was good. I didn't cross paths with your Angry Bird.” Anika giggled while uttering the last two words.
Ameer too joined her giggle club. But their giggles offended Aarini. Her Angry Bird was not that much of an Angry Bird.
“Both of you, don't make fun of my fiance in front of me.”She tried to sound angry but it came out more like a whine which made the other two giggle harder.
“Sorry, but I can't help it. ” Anika raised her hands in surrender.
They heard the doorbell ring.
“Let me check.” Ameer stood up from his chair while shoving a big spoon of Biryani in his mouth and went to open the door.
As the door was opened, a bulky man wearing a black suit came into Ameer's sight. The stranger was holding a few shopping bags, wearing a poker face. Plus, his bald head and black shades cover his eyes. He looked like a bodyguard. And Ameer had an idea whose bodyguard he was.
“This is for Aarini Madam.” The man forwarded the shopping bags he was holding.
Ameer held them from him and the man moved to leave.
Ameer shuddered thinking how that Angry Bird spends more than half of his day with these robots.
He returned to the dining table with the bags and a quizzical look.
“These are for you, Rini.” He put the bags beside her almost empty plate.
Aarini had a big question mark on her face as she pulled open the bag. It had a box with a logo of an international fashion brand. Means it had a dress, which she didn't want to ruin with her oily fingers. So she first finished her food and right after putting her dishes into the sink she ran to the guestroom with Anika accompanying her.

While Ameer was left to wash dishes. Oops, it hurt him.

“Wow! This is so beautiful!” Anika was awed looking at the beautiful dress laying on the bed.
It was a shimmery black party dress with shiny beads all over it.
Aarini was holding a tiny note which read ‘Be ready by nine.’
Which meant her Angry Bird will be there in an hour. And she was still wearing Ameer's loose t-shirt and pajamas.
“Rini, you need to rush! Come on, wear this dress.” Saying so Anika rushed outside so that Rini could change into the dress.
Rini gave a deep exhale and undressed. Soon the black dress hugged her figure. It suited her slim body. It didn't make her look like a pole, but a beautiful young woman with what those beauty-obsessed people call zero figure.
“I need to gain some weight.” She murmured to herself. Because she noticed her stomach was flat. And her flat stomach meant she is not eating enough and will end up puking on the first day of her period.
She stepped out of the room to find Ameer and Anika cleaning the kitchen.
“Anika, can you please help me with makeup?” She asked.
The couple looked at her and were in awe.
“You look so beautiful!” Anika gushed.
“You look stunning, Rini.”Ameer smiled.
“Thank you.” She blushed.
“C'mon, let me help you with your makeup,” Anika said excitedly.
And both the girls left for Anika's flat. Leaving poor Ameer to clean the kitchen alone. Oops, it hurt him, again.

Aadi was looking like a lady-killer in his black tuxedo. He reached outside Ameer's building and was contemplating if he should go inside or not. He had a repulsion towards Ameer, he envied him. Because Rini trusted Ameer more than him. And trust has a greater value than love.

Nonetheless, he entered the building. After five or more minutes he was standing in front of Ameer's apartment. He was about to ring the doorbell when the door of the apartment opposite Ameer's swung open.
“Aadi.” He heard her voice and turned around.
And her sight left him breathless. The shimmery black dress fitted her slim body like a second skin. Beautifying her skinny appearance. Her eyes look more black than brown with black eyeliner. Her lips dipped in the light shades of innocence. Her hair was left open, swinging on her back. The low-cut neckline gives a good view of her cleavage.
At that moment, he was so angry with her for running away from their wedding. If she didn't run away, they would have been married by then. And he could have done all those things he wanted to do with her right then.
Rini knew what was going on in his mind and that only made her glue to her spot.
While Anika was feeling like a third wheel standing behind Rini. So she went back inside her apartment after mumbling a ‘Best of Luck’ to Rini.
“We should leave.” Rini tried to end this awkward staring session.
“Yeah, of course.”
