《Harfan Maula》1.2 • Her Fiance

“Oh, so your fiance was cheating on you with his ex-girlfriend.”Anika wanted to beat Aarini's fiance with her six inches long heel after listening to the whole story.
Aarini silently nodded while drinking some orange juice. She visibly looked sad.
Ameer had also joined the gossip girls and was quietly listening to their talks.
“By the way, you didn't mention his name. What's his name?”Anika asked while munching on her toast.
“Aadijay Chauhan.”Aarini replied.
“WHAT!?”Anika choked on her food and began coughing hysterically.
“Yeah, what happened?”Aarini asked seeing Anika's shocked reaction.
Anika grabbed the glass of juice and gulped it's content in one go. And then looked at the two pairs of eyes curiously looking at her.
“Today is my first day of job as a receptionist at Rana Sangha Group of Industries' office, whose CEO is Aadijay Chauhan.”She revealed.
And Ameer burst into fits of laughter.
“Means technically you were cursing your boss for the last fifteen minutes.”
“Ameer, be quiet. And Anika, it's irrelevant. Just don't behave weirdly when he is around. He is quite sharp. Moreover, there are no chances he will get to know that we are neighbours for a while. Alright?”Aarini was confident in her words.
“Well, you are right. He can't know about us knowing each other unless he is a mind reader.” Anika agreed.
“Which he isn't.”Aarini added.
Like that three of them continued with their chats over breakfast. Well, Aarini and Anika talking while Ameer silently listening. Because girl talks are not his cup of tea.

“Sir, as you said I have got all the information about your fiancee. And she had no affair behind your back. However, she had dated a guy three years ago for a couple of years.”

“Who?”Aadijay asked to the detective he had hired.
“Ameer Akram Chaudhary.”
“Alright, you can go.”
And the detective left.
Aarini was nowhere to be found. She had no friends, which left her with no chance to find a place to hide away from him. Talking about boyfriends and affairs, he was quite relieved to know she had none. Yeah, just an ex-boyfriend.
“Ameer Akram Chaudhary.”He mumbled.
There are very less chances of finding Rini at her ex-boyfriend's place. But there is a hope to find her.
So he pulled out his phone and called his security chief.
“Ameer Akram Chaudhary. Get his information from the detective who has just left my cabin and we are heading to his place in the next ten minutes.”He ordered and cut the call.
•••
Ameer was getting ready for the office. He was a very simple person. No addictions or bad habits. He was trying to get closer to the God. And he was liking the journey of spirituality.
The sound of doorbell ringing brought him back to the reality. He went to open the door. It would be either the milkman who was very late that day or Aarini who was at Anika's apartment to help her getting ready for her first day at the office.
However, as he opened the main door, he saw whom he had never imagined to see in his wildest of wildest dreams.
Aadijay Chauhan.
Ameer was literally paralyzed seeing him.
In his very professional office suit, Aadijay Chauhan looked very intimidating and powerful. His arrogant gaze and perfect facial features giving him a sense of superiority all the times.
“How may I help you?”Ameer dared to ask when he simply wanted to shut the door at his face.
“Aarini Mathur. Where is she?”Aadi asked, looking straight into Ameer's eyes.

“Rini!? I am sorry, but I haven't met her for the last three years.”He smoothly lied in a confident tone, only he knew how scared he felt at that moment.
Aadi wasn't going to buy his words. He beckoned his men, who immediately barged into the apartment.
“Hey, what the hell are you doing?”Ameer asked angrily, pretending to be angry.
Aarini was absent, her bridal dress and jewellery was kept in the trunk placed in the store room. No chance they will find any clue of her presence anywhere.
Fifteen minutes passed but no avail.
“Sir, she isn't here.”Aadi's security chief informed.
Ameer internally smirked and spoke,
“Mr... whatever, because of you I am already late for the office. Mind leaving so that I can continue with my day peacefully?”
Aadi glared at him for his audacious words. However, he signalled his men to leave as he himself moved to the exit of the apartment.
•••
“Hmm, now you look like a professional. Anika, being a good receptionist is a very big deal. Always keep a bright and genuine smile on your face while talking to visitors, because you are the one responsible for the first impression of the company in front of the outsiders.”Aarini gave few tips to Anika as technically Anika was going to work in a company whose half of the shares belonged to her father.
“Alright, I can do this.”Anika motivated herself.
“Very good. Now you should leave for work and I should head back to Ameer's apartment. Best of luck!”
“Thank you, Rini.”
Both the girls headed to the main door. Aarini opened the door and moved towards Ameer's apartment, about to ring the doorbell when the door opened from the inside.
She was expecting to see Ameer, all set to leave for work. However, she saw someone she didn't expect or I say she didn't wish to see.
Aadijay Chauhan.
Her fiance.
Hopefully, her ex-fiance.
His eyes collided with hers.
A smirk curled up on his lips.
A fear invaded her mind.
The moment paused.
Their eyes were accusing each other.
And the accusations kept going on as no one dared to utter a word.
Suddenly she stepped back and continued moving away from him. However, he grabbed her wrist, stopping her from moving away.
“Not again, Rini. Not. Again.”His tone held clear warning for her.
And she understood he won't let her go.
Her fiance.
Not ex-fiance, sadly.
