"Granger!" Draco yelled, "wake up, damnit!" He shook her again, before looking over his shoulder at the door, hearing the spells being shot back and forth over and over again. "We have to go!"

Hermione woke up dazed, everything seeming blurry. All she could tell was their was a boy with platnum blonde hair shaking her. Not before long however her vision came back to her, "Malfoy what's wrong?" She muttered incoherently.

"Thank Merlin you're awake, we have to go. Now." He stressed.

"What about McGonagall?" Hermione asked in confusion.

"McGonagall needs fighters." A voice said from the other side of the room. She turned to see the woman herself, in her emerald green robes grabbing a few items from her desk. "We need to move now." McGonagall stated before moving to Hermione. "Are you okay to fight."

Hermione nodded, collecting herself as she stood, gripping her wand in hand. McGonagall headed for the door, wand ready. Draco and Hermione shared a look "Thank you," the Gryfinndor said, looking up at him.

"Don't mention it."He spoke in a humble voice, one of which she hadn't heard out of his mouth.

"Alright children, let's go." McGonagall said after looking out the door. As they walked out their could hear the battle coming from the Great Hall. "This way!" She said and they all headed in that direction. Finally as they corridor before the Great Hall, they could see just how bad this would truly be.

Death Eaters, Dementors, students over fifteen and teachers alike flooded the Great Hall, in full out battle.

Draco felt his whole body tense, it's just like another war.

McGonagall was out of sight before a spell could even be shot their way, Hermione began shooting spells left and right, pulling Draco's arm, leading them down the hallway, ducking out of the way. Once they got into the Great hall she lost grip on his arm as the fight progressed. But neither of them couldbe bothered with it.

Only moments later the Death Eaters began retreating, dissapearing into clouds of smoke and the dementors retreating out of the castle. It wasn't long before the battle was over, or at least, no one left to fight.

Hermione looked around in confusion, what had happened?

They sun peaked through the curtains in the Slytherin's boys dormitory. Draco let out a quiet groan before getting out of bed. The last night a blur, how was the whole event even possible, that he didnt know, but none the less, he got himself ready and headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast.

When Draco walked into the Great Hall, what he thought was a dream was confirmed as he set his sights on the room. Teachers and older students, including Hermione, all worked hard cleaning up and reparing the Great Hall with their magic. With a sigh, Draco pulled out his wand and got to work.

"Morning Malfoy," a voice said from behind him, he looked over his shoulder to see the shorter bushy-haired girl with her hair back in a frizzy pony tail. He felt his chest clench.

"Granger," He aknowladged her.

"Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?" She gave a playful smile as she continued cleaning. When he replied with only a scoff she looked at him, her eyebrows uptilitng in the center. "What's wrong Malfoy?"

"Nothing." He huffed, "just clean would you?" He snapped at her.

"What's with you?" She looked almost hurt. He almost broke, but he knew he couldn't rope her into this life, it simply wasn't fair to her. She was to keep her distance and live a good life, without his troubles waying her down.

"It shouldn't matter to you Granger, we're not friends." Malfoy snapped once again. His voice not quivering for even a moment, it took all his power to do even that.

She looked hurt now, fully and totally broken. "But you said..." She trailed off, not knowing what to think.

"I know what I said, and I was mistaken," He said coldly, "have a nice life Granger." Even though his words were harsh, he said the last part with some sincerity before walking off, leaving the Great Hall as if he was never there.

Hermione felt her heart ache as he walked away, only, she didn't know why.
