《Obliviate (Dramione)》Chapter 5

Time passed an it was now the day for the ball.
There was no classes just incase that students had to go last-minute shopping and packing for the holidays. Harry and Ron were going with the Patil twins since they waited too long to ask someone else.
Ron had tried by saying, "oh Hermione, you're a girl." That had offended Hermione and Harry was scared for Ron because of the look she gave him. She had informed that she had a date already but he didn't believe her. Victor Krum had also tried asking her but she kindly rejected.
She put her hair up in a fancy style and did her natural makeup and put her mask on. She put her dress on and waited for Ginny. Ginny wore a light red dress and flats.
They went down to meet up with Neville. "Hi Ginny." He said shyly, "who is This?" Ginny looked at Hermione who nodded. "Neville, it's Hermione."
They walked Down the stair leading to the Great Hall when Hermione saw Draco patiently waiting for her. His grey eyes widened and his jaw dropped when he saw how she looked. "Herm- uh- you look umm wow." He could hardly make out any words looking at her. Beautiful wasn't enough to describe her even on the days her hair looked like a squirrel's nest to everyone else. To him Hermione was more than beautiful. He extended his hand for her to grab and guided her in. They waited for the 4 champions to begin the dance and they joined.
They danced and danced, having the time of their lives. Nothing could ever ruin it, or so Hermione thought.
As she went to get a drink her mask fell down and Ron saw her. "Hermione is that you?" He gave her a strange look, "I never thought you actually had a date. I mean you're not exactly beautiful and the type of girl some guys drooled over. You have frizzy hair and it's not the best at this moment. Face it, you only have smarts in your favor. Maybe your date is another annoying know-at-all that had no friends like you."

Hermione's eyes filed with tears that threatened to escape. She couldn't believe her own friend would say that. Luckily Draco had heard everything Ron had said. He walked up to her grabbing both cups of punch from her hands and spilled them over Ron. "Don't. . Say. That. Again. Weasel." Draco warned and turned to Hermione leading her out to their secret place.
"I can't believe that git. How dare he call you not beautiful. Actually you're not beautiful, you're more than that. Mione don't let his words get to you. I know the part that hurt you the most was the last. You know you had me Hermione. Plus you're not an annoying know-at-all, you're smart and that's adorable."
By the time he had finished Hermione smiled brightly. She put her arms around his torso and hugged him tightly. "Thank you Draco." He returned the hug pulling her closer to him. They knew it was safe to stay later than usual because of the ball. Draco decided to show her something else he liked.
He guided her to the astronomy tower where they gazed at the stars. He got close to her and whispered constellation names to her while pointing at them. He filled her up with interesting facts he knew she'd like.
Soon they left and went to sleep dreaming of everything that had just happened.

Hermione did what she always did in the summer which was meet up with Draco. They have been dating for quite a while but they weren't official.
This time when Draco had appeared wearing long sleeve shirt and some casual pants, he asked to ask to talk to her dad. She waited patiently in the living room. Finally Draco and her dad came in with a huge smile on their faces. Draco had been hiding things in his back so she wouldn't see it.

"Hermione Jean Granger, I've been your friend since we were eleven. In fourth year I finally had the guts to ask you out somewhere. Then during the ball I had the best time I ever had. Mione you're beautiful and smart and funny and kind and just amazing. That is why I've been waiting for this and I hope you don't break me now. Hermione would you do me the honor and become my girlfriend?"
Hermione couldn't make out any words from her mouth. She was just speechless so she nodded her head a bunch of times with excitement. He handed her flowers he had bought for her. Hermione's warm brown eyes filled up with tears of happiness looked at him and smiled.
"Hermione, can we talk about something in private?" He didn't want to do this but he had to tell her. She nodded and guided him to her bedroom.
"What do you want to talk about?" She smiled innocently at him. He debated between telling her his secret or not. "Well I'm going to stay this year in Hogwarts. I don't want to be around my family that you saw last year. I've hardly talked to my dad ever since." He looked down feeling ashamed of his family and how craven he was.
Hermione took his hand and squeezed it. "If you want I could ask my parents if you could stay. We have a guest room and my dad pretty much likes you by now." Draco nodded feeling a pang of guilt. He tried his best to smile but it only made his grey stormy eyes tearful. Hermione not wanting to pressure him into telling her what's wrong just hugged him. After a while Draco hugged her back feeling better. Her hugs made him feel better, like everything in the world that bothered him disappeared with her contact. He looked down with his nose in her hair getting the smell of vanilla he loved so much. "Let's go out for a bit. Being out in the sun and all would do your skin some good." She giggled after stating that. She looked at his face as he pretended to be offended and saw how different he was from the rest of his family.
They ended up walking around her neighborhood, then going to the park. He pushed her when she was on the swing after she explained what a swing was. They watched ducks swimming in an out of the pond and described how the clouds looked. They had a competition of who runs faster which Draco won. He wanted it to stay this perfect but he didn't know how she would react after hearing what he is. He didn't have a choice but to become one, he would never be one willingly. He looked a her and saw how her eyes lit up and how her smile was so innocent and so pure even after all the adventures she had.
They walked back home and in hand laughing and talking. When they got home, Hermione asked her dad if Draco could come for the holidays and her dad gladly accepted.
Sadly Draco had to leave or his parents would arrive home soon. Hermione kissed his cheek and waved goodbye as he disappeared.

The Forgotten Hero
Long ago, in the world of Thyne, the Alliance of the Free Races, a name they had given themselves, summoned a hundred humans from another dimension. Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Legends say that, upon ambushing the Demon Lord in his castle, they finally understood the plight of the world, and in the last act of heroism, sacrificed their lives, sealing him in an eternal prison so his essence would not be able to create another. With the loss of the Demon Lord, and no chance for another to be born, the dark races quickly surrendered and the free races celebrated, honouring the noble sacrifice of the heroes before quickly forgetting about them as they returned to their everyday lives. However, legends are rarely truthful, embellished by the victors in order to earn praise as well as hide the less desirable aspects of their deeds. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
