After the small incident with the girl in the hall, me and Brandon went up the stairs to our right and headed to his office. I walked into his office and sat on the couch, facing the the floor to ceiling window, with the view of people enjoying their meals in the restuarant. My eyes instantly caught the same hazel eyes again. She was with two other girls enjoying their meals. She seemed to be enjoying their company, but looked a little worried about something.

I kept staring at her when I looked away realizing that brandon was sitting next to me. He kept his gaze on me for about a minute until he asked "So, who was that?" "Who? Who are you talking about?" I asked, pretending to not knowing who he was talking about, but no lie can pass through him for a fact. "Stop bullshiting with me. I saw everything Dan" he said with a smirk. I just laughed at him.

"What's so funny? Why are you laughing now?" He asked. "For no reason" I said raising my brows at him. "Okay. Then speak" he said. "I don't know her man. She just randomly bumped into me in the hallway, like you saw" I said.

"Really? I mean you never like it when women comes near you, unless you say so.... so why didn't you get mad at her? Like last few times?" He said. "Well, the last few times was different than this. They all were sluts trying to seduce me and you know that. This time it was by accident" I said to clear everything out.

"Yeah. I know its different based on your reaction and how you were staring at her. I mean she is pleasing to the eyes" he said with a smile. I clenched my jaw tight and stared at him showing him my deadly gaze. I don't know why but for some reason I did not like what Brandon just said. Seeing me staring at him he immediately put his arms up in the air "oh fuck man! I'm sorry bro, I didn't mean it that way. I was just saying tha-"

"You better fucking be. I dont want to hear anything regarding this now. End of discussion" I said. I looked back at the window to see if she was still there and she wasn't. She was gone now, I mean it wasn't like I knew her or something but it was mesmerizing. So, it's better off I forget about it and not think too much.

"Okay, where the hell is Alex though?" He asked. "He's on a mission, on the east side. Once he's done he'll be here" I said. I heard my phone ring suddenly. I checked to see who it was and it was Alex. I instantly picked it up "yes?" "Boss, there's a problem. The shipment is here, but the weapons and drugs are not on the ship" he said. "What? How's that possible?" I asked getting up from my seat and frustrated. "I don't know boss. It seems like someone probably raided the ship because the shipments are not here" he said. I was so confused and tried to think of something, but I couldn't.

"What the fuck? Get to the bottom of this and find out whose fucking responsible for it by tomorrow. Inform everyone that there will be a meeting tomorrow. Understood?" I said louder. "Yes boss, don't worry" he said. How's this possible? I though to myself, sitting down. How can someone find out about our secret trail for shipments and raid my products. This definitely has to be one of my enemies for sure and it's a lost of over twenty million dollars for me.

"What the fuck happened?" Asked Brandon. "Our ship has been raided with our shipment of weapons and drugs" I said. "That's a loss of over twenty million dollars for us. Fuck! Any idea who could it be?" He asked getting pissed. "I don't know. It's definitely one of our enemies though, but don't worry they will soon realize what a big mistake they made messing with me and my business" I said nodding my head.

I decided to leave since I have no reason to stay any longer now that Alex won't be coming.

"Anyways I'm going to head out then, I have to go see mom. She wants me to have dinner with her and Sofia" I said with a stern face. "You know it's going to be an hour and forty minute ride so I don't want to be late and you know how she is. I'll see you at the meeting tomorrow then" I said and gave him a fist bump. "Yeah bro, I'll see you there. Bye" he said and I headed out with my bodyguards.

I was in my car thinking about who could possibly be responsible for the raid on our ship. The only people I think could have done it are the either the French or the Spanish. My mafia has had many problems with them in the past. I cant wait to get rid of the Spanish with my own hands, for my own personal reasons and if it's the French I'll deal with them by myself.

The car headed straight to the main entrance of my mother and father's manor. Once it passed through the gate, the car stopped and I got out and headed to the main door. "Good evening Mr. Venttali" said Victor, the head of the security for the manor. I nodded my head at him. I went inside and found my mother in the family livingroom reading the her latest Vogue magazine.

"Good evening mom" I said. She looked up at me with a smile on her face "oh my god honey, you actually came. I thought you weren't able to come today?" She asked giving me a tight hug. "Well, I took time out to see you and now I'm here. Happy?" I asked. "Yes, I'm very happy, all of us will be together as a family after almost a month. Now go and freshen up. Sofia would be here any minute from university then we can have dinner together" she said. I nodded my head and walked up the stairs to my room here in the manor.

When I took over the company and mafia after my brother, I moved out of the manor to my mansion in the city because most of my mafia work resides there and the companies headquarters. It's better off that both mom and Sofia are away from my work for their own safety, I don't want them anywhere near it and put their lives in danger. I do come back to visit my mother and Sofia as much as I can. Atleast twice a month if possible, but because of my work it's sometimes impossible to have the long drives from the city to the Hamptons or by plane.

I quickly freshened up and headed to the family livingroom. My mother was there, as well as Sofia. "Look who decided to finally show up" I said looking at Sofia. She looked at me furiously. "Say's the one who even forgot that he has a mother and sister waiting to see him for so long" she said mockingly. She got up from her seat and hug me tightly. I hugged her back.

"I'm sorry, you know how busy I am with work. It's not easy" I said. "Yeah, whatever" she said rolling her eyes at me and smiling. "When will you be leaving though?" She asked. "Tonight, right after dinner. I just came to see you guys, since it's been so long" I said. "Daniel, what's the rush? You can stay tonight and leave tomorrow" my mother said. "No mom, I can't stay. I have a early meeting tomorrow" I tried to explain when we got interrupted by the head maid.

"Madam, dinner is ready" she said and left. "Mom come on, let's go. I promise I'll come and spend more time with you guys. Okay?" I said to her and Sofia and they both agreed.

We were having our dinner at the main dinning hall in the manor when suddenly my mother brought my marriage topic. She been trying to convince me to getting married, but I still haven't agreed to that one wish of hers and never will. She' been trying to set me up on blind dates when I don't even want to be in a committed relationship and because of those fucking paparazzi she found out about Amanda. Now this whole situation is messed up, were not even dating and my mother is already jumping to conclusions.

"Since you already know her, I think she will be perfect. Why don't we invite her over for dinner next time?" My mother asked me. "No mom" I said with a straight face. "There is nothing going on between us. She's just a close friend, mama. You know the paparazzi will take pictures of anyone to publish and make money off it" I said furiously.

"She's not my type also and I have already told you that I don't want to be in a committed relationship, so marriage is out of the books" I said a little louder. "Daniel, why? If you don't want to get married, at least get eng-" I cut her off "I dont want to speak about this topic again mom, so let's just end it here" I said and continued to finish my food.

I didn't want to ruin my mood on unimportant things so I tried to change the topic and talk about something else, but the conversation didn't go as planned. We all stayed silent for about ten minutes until I gave up and decided to take my leave, calling Anthony to get the car ready. I said goodbye to both of them and left.

I got into my car and headed back home, to the city. I don't know why my mother can't understand that I can't make her wish come true. I don't want to bound someone to me for the rest of their life because of my work. It's too dangerous for me to bring them into my world and set them as a target for my rivals. Especially at this time when my business and mafia are so powerful and prominent, with so many rivals trying to bring me down.

I never even loved anybody, except having the usual one night stands. I'm such a cold hearted beast that never will love because I don't want to show any feelings. I think that love makes a person weak and I don't care what people say because it's true.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to relax. I thought about everything that happened today, with our ships being raided by someone to the same argument again with my mother. Tomorrow will be heck of a busy day I thought with my eyes closed, an in a flash I started to see those same hazel eyes again with its long eyelashes kissing her undereyes of the beauty from the restaurant.

Those same hazel eyes that looked me in the eyes for a few seconds. Her innocent and radiant heart shaped face, full lips, cute button nose and high cheekbones had me fascinated. The way she squirmed and tried to get away from my hold had me feeling uneasy. Normally every woman would want to come closer to me, but she didn't which was rare in my case. I don't know why I'm thinking about that occurence, when I'm never going to see that person again.

Though it would've been nice to have her for some fun, but it's impossible for it to actually happen. I decided not to think too much about it again and tried to relax until I got home.
