Addy's faces as they both fell to the ground with Axel's lifeless body. Addy's heart began to thump loudly in her ears, what was going on? Carol rolled over, using Axel's body as a shield and covering Addy's with her own. Shots fired, blood spilled and screams erupted. As you can imagine, the latter was from Carol and Addy.
Carl and Beth got down behind some bleachers, firing back at the man on the guard tower. Addy felt a liquid drip down her cheek, but she wasn't sure if it was blood or tears. Probably both.
The gunfire paused for a moment, and Addy took the time to realise her ears were ringing and her body was shaking uncontrollably. Maggie suddenly ran out from the building, shouting at Beth and handing her a few guns. The brunette woman got behind some old filing cabinets and began firing at their enemies, shouting at the two on the ground to move and get behind cover. The pair didn't wasn't a second, with Carol grabbing Addy's hand and pulling her up with her so they could get to cover quickly and safely.
Carl gave the girl a quick nod, and despite being scared out of her mind, Addy gave one back. Her and Carol grabbed a gun each and began firing whenever they could, dead set on getting revenge for Axel. Just as some shots stopped somewhere nearby, a deep rumbling sounded in the area. Addy's blue eyes widened as she realised what that meant.
A large truck came barrelling into their safe haven, driving through the chain link fence and coming to a halt in the field. The back suddenly sprung open, and even though Addy couldn't see them, she definitely heard them. Groans and moans emitted from the truck as dozens of walkers stumbled out and onto the field.

The driver, dressed in riot gear, hopped out and began firing at Michonne. Meanwhile, the group in the courtyard fired round after round at the attacker on the guard tower. Addy could hardly hear anything over the loud thumping in her ears and the gunfire, and everything was starting to become too much. Swallowing down all the fear and anxiety that had accumulated, Addy tried her hardest to not get shot.
Once the man on the guard tower was killed, the group made their way to the bottom of the courtyard to help the the others with the walkers in the field. Addy fired round after round, some missing her target and some going straight were she wanted them to.
From the corner of her eye, Addy saw Rick struggling with a couple walkers on the other side of the fence. She was about to point her gun at the one closest to the man, but a familiar crossbow bolt got there before she could.
Her face paled when she saw her dad, thankfully alive and breathing. But he wasn't alone, Merle was with him. Seriously, why did he bring Merle back to their home? When their matching eyes met, Daryl felt relief flood through him like a tidal wave. He wanted to run up and hug his daughter, wipe away all the blood on her freckled face and tell her everything was going to be okay.
But he couldn't, he had a job to do.
Instead, he and Merle continued killing walkers left right and centre.
Glenn, Hershel, and Michonne all piled into Glenn's car and drove up to the safe courtyard, the remaining walkers stumbling behind them and rattling at the closed chain link gate. Maggie hugged her father when he opened the car door, thanking the heavens above that he and Glenn were okay.

Addy reached for Carl's hand, the boy quickly accepting and giving hers a small squeeze of reassurance.
The truck and a few remaining walkers were still in the field, but the governor and his men had seemed to get the memo and retreat.

"We're not leaving!" Rick's voice echoed throughout the cell block. Addy moved so she was closer to her father, who was leaning against the railing on the overlook. Ever since the two Dixon's had come back, the youngest of the family hadn't been able to keep herself away from her dad.
"We can't stay here." Hershel snapped back.
"What if there's another sniper? A wood pallet wouldn't stop one of those rounds." Maggie huffed.
"We can't even go outside!" Beth said.
"Not in the daylight." Carol added.
"If Rick says we're not running, then we're not running." Glenn defended. Addy understood both sides — she didn't want to be a coward and run, but at the same time she didn't want to die by the hands of the governor.
"No, better to live like rats." Addy rolled her eyes at the sound of her uncle's voice.
"You got a better idea?" Rick craned his head to look at Merle, annoyed he was even in his presence.
"Yeah, we should have slid out of here last night, live to fight another day," Merle unfortunately continued, "But we lost that window, didn't we? I'm sure he's got scouts on every road out of this place by now."
Daryl walked down the overlook, eyeing his brother up and down, "We ain't scared of that prick."
"Y'all should be. That truck through the fence thing? That's just him ringing' the doorbell. We might have some thick walls to hide behind, but he's got the guns and the numbers. And if he takes the high ground around this place, shoot. He could just starve us out if he wanted to." We? Us? Who does Merle think he is?
Maggie grimaced, looking him up and down whilst wrapping her hand, "Let's put him in the other cell block."
"No," Daryl quickly interjected, "He's got a point."
"This is all you! You started this!" Maggie suddenly shouted at Merle.
"What's the difference who's fault it is? What do we do?"
"I say we should leave," Hershel's stern voice echoed, "Now Axels dead. We can't just sit here." Rick shook his head walking away towards Merle.
"Get back here!" Rick halted in his tracks, "You're slipping Rick, we've all seen it. We understand why, but now is not the time. You once said this isn't a democracy, now you have to own up to that. I put my family's life in your hands. So get your head clear and do something."

School-life & Swordfights: A Clubs and Stubs Tale
Warning: Clubs and Stubs contains strong language and situations throughout that may not be suitable for younger readers. "This story takes place in a fantasy world with a modernish setting. It mainly follows four students of Hardires High School who are members of one of the greatest Team Arena Squads in the history of gladiatorial school athletics. Already two-time high-school world champions, they have entered their fourth and final year of high school in hopes of capturing a third straight world championship—something that no other school on the continent has accomplished. As they prepare for an upcoming match with a rival school, it becomes evident that keeping their two-and-a-half-year winning streak alive will be tougher than expected. As both personal and external problems abound for the student-gladiators, can they manage to keep it together under the constant pressure of being the perfect fighting unit? A blend of action, drama, adventure, and humor collide in this brand-new series!" Thanks so much for checking out my story! This is the first time that I've released any of my work to a public space so any feedback, be it positive or negative (but please be respectful if so) would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that this story is only the beginning of a long-running series of short stories set in the Clubs and Stubs universe. Temporary Book Cover Design by David Watson The release schedule is rather tentative, but the goal is to release a chapter every 2-4 days. I want to make sure that every scene is the best it can be before it’s released, so it may take a bit longer especially if it's a longer chapter. However, no chapter should take more than a week to be released. Each scene varies in length, but are usually between 1,000 to 2,000 words.

8.18 137Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.
