《How to be a dragon [HTTYD Fanfiction] [Toothcup]》Chapter 4

Toothless' POV
Laying on the bed, thinking about things. I felt really frustrated. Hiccup didn't tell me who he loved. That made me upset. I was jealous because I really liked Hiccup. His mate would probably be Astrid. She was beautiful and strong...well I didn't say that I was weak. Was there any chance that he loved me? I turned to face Hiccup who was sleeping beside me. He looked so peaceful when he was sleeping.
Then I thought of another thing. Should I tell him about his human parents. But I was afraid that he would refuse to meet them. He had his family as dragons. He belonged to them. He couldn't live in two worlds at the same time. And how would Valka and Stoick react to the fact that their son was still alive and sided with the dragons.
"I smell your anxieties" I snapped out of my thoughts as Hiccup spoke up. He was starring at me like an owl. "What's bothering you?"
"It's just dragon training" I replied quickly.
"Why would you, Vikings, train dragons?" Hiccup asked but he didn't seem to bought the lie I told him.
"No.. It's how you kill dragons" I explained.
Hiccup closed his yes and stayed quiet for a minute and I heard him snoring. "Sleepy head" I said and chuckled.
"I'm not" The sudden action of Hiccup startled me and I fell off the bed. "I'm sorry!"
I sat up before replying to him. "It's okay"
"I was just thinking... Where should I be at when you are training?" Hiccup asked. I scratched at the back of my head, thinking. He could help at the storage but that seemed like a bad idea, seeing that Stoick usually went there to check on the stocks.
"Hmm... Maybe at the forge? So that you could learn how to forge. How does that sound?" I told him. Being at Gobber's forge was, at least, the best chore for him right now.
Hiccup's eyes widen in excitement. "Okay!" He jumped out of the bed before dragging me out of the house to the forge. He seemed to know this place very well. Well...scratch that. He had always been here when the dragons raided Berk for two years.
Trying to keep up to Hiccup's speed, we reached the forge with me nearly tripped on my own legs. Hiccup whistled "Never thought I could be here. I have always wanted to learn how to forge!" With that I walked inside the forge with an overly excited dragon boy.
"Gobber!" I called, and then yelled the thick accent back. " 'ere!"
"That's a thick accent.." Hiccup murmured and I chuckled at his statement.
"You'll get use to it, Hiccup" I said and we approached Gobber, the blond blacksmith of Berk. "Hey Gobber"

"Ya Lad?" Gobber responded.
I pulled Hiccup to the front. "Can I leave Hatch here while we're training?"
"Yeah, but if da lad blow things up you pay" Gobber said and I nodded.
"Okay! Hatch! We're leaving to the arena now. And please, for my sake, don't blow the forge up" I said an Hiccup nodded rapidly before going off to find some tools.
Gobber and I walked out of the forge to the arena together. There was an awkward silence between. But fortunately Gobber eventually got rid of it. "What's with da lad?"
"Hi-...Hatch? His boat crashed here. He told me he was a traveler" I replied while glancing away.
Gobber seemed to buy it and that left me wondering if he always bought the lies so easily. "Da lad looked very smart. He reminded me of someone"
My face went pale as Gobber said that. He was still not over Hiccup. I had to be careful around Gobber or the secret would be revealed "It's not true Gobber. I How could he remind you of the chief's son?" I said and chuckled nervously.
Gobber shrugged before saying "I just feel it on my left hand. I just want a nephew. You know... never have a child of my own"
I let out a pfft "You don't have a left hand, Gobber"
We laughed at that and arrived at the arena.
----------------------------------------
I had just finished the lecture of how to forge when I heard yelps from the arena. The trainees must be training right now. I looked around the forge and saw some of the blunt swords. I took them and started sharpening them professionally. When I finished them I walked over to the iron bars and stated making my own sword. The fire didn't bother me at all.
"Gobber?!" I heard a yell of Valka. "Hatch?"
I turned to look at her and a pile of weapons she placed on the counter. "Hello, Toothless's mother" I greeted her and she gave me a look.
"You could just call me by my name. I don't mind" She said and grinned warmly. That smile somehow familiar to me. But I swore I had never seen one since I had been with dragons all the time. "Anyway. Where is Gobber?"
"He has just left to train the vikings" I replied as I continued to tweaked my half-completed sword.
Valka came in and looked at me tweaking a sword. I could sense her curiosity "You can do smith?" She said "This's amazing"
I grinned softly "Thanks!"
She looked a bit sad when she spoke up "You look like the image of my son...well my real son. Toothless was adopted. His name is Hiccup... And he was so wee when he was baby. But I had always known that he was a smart boy. Unfortunately...he was taken away and killed by the dragon"

The baby's name was just like mine. But there was no way she could be my mother. So I asked "How could you know he's dead?"
"Even if the dragons didn't kill him. He had no one to take care of him" Valka said sadly.
I nodded understandingly. There were chances that she was my biological mother. And the other chief...what was his name? Stoick, was my biological father. But hey I had my dragon father's blood. So that meant I had two biological fathers? Nah... I still didn't want to know about my biological parents. I should focus on the sword I was making right now.
Valka decided to leave to do her chief's duties, leaving me in the forge. Then I remembered when I told my mate my full name. He looked surprise and somehow knew something. What was this hatchling Hiccup's last name?
I finally finished my sword and I took a look at it impressively. Not bad for my first invention. A thing to make my mate love me.
---------------------------------------
What was wrong with this guy? Toothless had been always zoned out when he was training and somehow always got in my way. This was so annoying. I couldn't have a wimp like him pulling me down like this. I would talk to him after I survived the last shot of the Gronckle. I meant I would be only one last stand.
Toothless looked didn't care about the Gronckle because he wasn't in its sight. He didn't even have a shield but that could make him more lighter and dodge the fire shot. His unviking-like made me angry. Why would the chiefs adopt this carefree man? I really hated the fact that he was faster than me in every way. It had always to be him beating me at some points.
I then looked the brunette teen who was standing right beside Gobber. He always looked at Toothless and Toothless gave him a grinned like they had known each other. I swore I had never seen that guy on Berk.
"Astrid! Look out" I heard Gobber yelled and a fire shot was shot at me. I pulled up my shield and the explosion made me fell to the ground.
"Astrid! You're out!" I scowled at this and watched the Gronckle turned to Toothless. Here you go wimp!
Toothless somehow rolled toward an knocked the hilt of the sword against the Gronckle's forehead and it went unconscious. Again he won. How dared him! At first he looked carefree. But then out of nowhere he could brought that dragon down. And why didn't the Gronckle shoot at him?
"Very well Toothless!" Gobber shouted and then came down to drag the dragon into its cage. I let out a tsk and left the arena with Toothless being dragged by me.
I pinned him against a wooden wall of someone's house and said "What's with you?! You were so carefree and then all of the sudden you could bring down that Gronckle? You acted like this isn't important to you!"
Toothless gave me a duh look and then said "Of course I don't care! I didn't even think to come to the training at first. Who would stand up against Stoick The Vast?"
That made sense. He was forced into the training. "But why did you get in my way all the time?!"
"Please for the sake of Odin. Could you please lower your voice?" Toothless said quickly "I didn't get in your way. You put me in your way"
"That's not true" I stated and punched him. No one refused me. Especially this guy.
"Hey don't hurt him!!" The boy's voice was heard and I spin around to see the boy who was watching us training. I chuckled at how scrawny he was.
"Then what would you do?" I said and gripped at Toothless's collar. "Bite me?"
Then I yelp as I slipped and let go of the collar. "Let's go Hatch. Someone is being arrogant" Toothless said and grabbed the boy's hand before walked off.
I sat up and noticed the ice pattern that made me slipping. Where did that come from?
I scowled and got up before heading to my house.
--------------------------------
I smiled at Hiccup and he smiled back before we let our giggles out. "You did a good job there Hiccup" I applauded.
"I don't really like her. She has a really low temper" Hiccup said an huffed.
That meant Hiccup didn't like Astrid. Then Astrid wasn't his mate. Them who is it. There was no way he chose Ruffnut. Seriously? "So...Astrid isn't your mate?"
"What?! No way she would be!!" Hiccup said quickly but his face didn't heat up so I assumed it was true.
"Then your mate is Ruffnut?" I asked.
Hiccup raised his brows "That crazy viking? Nope. Here's a hint. My mate is a guy" He said and I gagged.
"What?! How could-" Hiccup cut me off.
"Male dragon is impregnable. If the population of female dragon isn't available" Hiccup said and grinned. "As I said. Destined mate.... It could be anyone. No matter what they are"
"That's exotic..." I stuttered.
"That's not" Hiccup retorted.
"For human.. It's weird" I said.
"You humans are so weird.." Hiccup murmured. Then suddenly he pulled out a beautiful sword. "I made it by myself. I want you to have it"
I took the sword and found it very handy for me. "Thank you Hiccup" I said and hugged him. I could hear a happy sigh from Hiccup. Man..this boy knew how to make my day.
