《My halfbie - GwinamXreader》Chapter 4

I wake up to the sounds of shuffling feet near by as I stay frozen while trying to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Once realising that it wasn't a dream I get up quickly and grab anything my arm could reach before swinging at whatever was making the noise. "What was that for" I hear a voice say clearly as I finally take a moment to open my eyes properly and look at who was there. All I see is Gwi nam standing there looking offended at me. "What's a pillow going to do against a zombie, you can't just suffocate them idiot" he says as I look down at my hand to see that I was holding a pillow.
"I thought you were asleep" I say while looking around and letting out a sigh. "What were you doing anyway, when I woke up you half hanging off the bed completely fast asleep" he says as I rub my eyes while letting out a yawn. "I didn't mean to fall asleep" I say as he walks over to me and starts petting my hair. "I'm not a dog" I say as he glares a little still moving strands of hair around. "But you are a bitch" he says as I raise my arm to slap him but he quickly moves away while giggling.
"Wow you're just hilarious" I say as he keeps laughing to himself. I roll my eyes before going over to the bag I grabbed before and pull out some lunch. "Here" I say and hold out the box to Gwi nam as he just looks at it and stops laughing. "I've already eaten" he says as I raise a brow but pull the box back to myself and start eating the contents. "I'm going to head out and look for more people alright but I'll be back in a bit" Gwi nam says while going over to the door.
"Don't open the door for anyone alright, if they were out there then they got bit so don't feel bad" he says as I go to say something but he's already left. "Why couldn't he just stay here and get better first it's not that hard" I say to myself but just go back to eating. After a while of just waiting around I hear a loud scream from nearby. I quickly get up and go over to the door. I pause for a moment just holding the door handle as I remember the one thing Gwi nam said about people outside.
"THEY'RE EVERYWHERE" I hear a voice shout through tears as I feel my heart break slightly for them. I end up opening the door and looking down the corridor. "OVER HERE" I shout as the three people see me and quickly run to the room. I glance over and see zombies running up from the other direction as I have a moment where I debate closing the door to keep myself safe but I can't bring myself to.
I have to reassure myself that the people will make it here before the zombies. Once they were close enough the girl in front gets in as one of the guys gets to the door before getting harshly shoved to one side and into the hoard that was an arm length away. The second guy rushes in and slams the door shut as I can hear the first guys screams from the other side of the door. "What was that for" I say as I stare at the guy that was now holding the door shut.

"He was in my way" the guy says still facing the door as the screams start dying out. I walk over to the window as I run a hand through my hair while breathing heavily. Since I was at home when the zombie breakout started I hadn't experienced what happened to the people before turning. I saw it once from a distance but that wasn't even close to it being on the other side of a door. Once it quieted down I look over at the two people now standing in the room. One was a girl I didn't recognise and the guy I vaguely remember since he was often around Gwi nam.
I stare in disbelief at him while he looks around the room. Once he spots the pile of stuff he goes over and starts digging through it just searching for something. I want to stop him but I felt like everything got caught in my throat. I couldn't even begin to form sentences as my mind was filled with that scream. I grab onto the bottom of the jacket sleeves as I bury as much of my face as I could into my hands to block the sound out. I drown out the noise before I feel a hand land on my shoulder lightly.
I gather my thoughts and pull the sleeves back down as I turn and see the girl looking at me concerned while she had some tears in her eyes. "Are you alright" she asks in a quiet voice as I nod while glancing over to the guy that's looking at something in his hand. "Are you hungry" I ask the girl while ignoring the guy to the best of my abilities. She seems hesitant to answer at first but nods a little after a moment to think. I go over to the pile of stuff that we're just scattered around now and pick up the bag with food in it.
I pull out some bread before getting up and going over to the girl and holding out the package. Her eyes light up a little before she thanks me and starts eating slowly. She obviously hadn't eaten in a while so even in the bad circumstances she managed to eat the little bit of food. "There's more if you want" I say to the girl as she thanks me but shakes her head. I wasn't going to push her to eat since there was no way someone could be hungry after what happened.
I look over to see the guy just eating like it was a normal day and nothing bad had happened at all. I feel slightly sick while looking at the food so I just turn away and go to the window and look out while trying to think on the bright side of things. "Thank you for helping earlier" the girl says in a small voice as she stands next to me just looking out. "No problem I'm sure anyone would've done the same" I say as she just nods slightly.
Before she can say anything else the guy coughs a little before going over to the door. "Oi girl open the door" the guy says as the girl next to me turns and grabs my wrist. She pulls me over to the door as she gives me an apologetic look before opening the door and running out ahead. She drags me along before I can protest but I shut my mouth in case there were zombies near by.

She keeps running ahead before pulling me down the stairs. I have no choice but to follow for now as she turns down a corridor once on the ground floor. She opens a door and goes in before letting my wrist go as I look around the room to find it empty. It was quite a small room with one door to get in and a small window on the other side. The girl was scurrying around the room checking everything as I just stand there confused as to what she was doing.
The door closes as I look over to see that it was just the guy from before. "Why did we leave the nurse's office" I finally say since there weren't any zombies around to hear. "Check the window already" the guy says as I look over to see him looking at me like he expected me to do it. "Who are you to tell me what to do" I say as he clicks his tongue and steps closer as I feel the girl grip my arm lightly and pull me back. "She's sorry" the girls voice says from behind as I look over becoming increasingly confused.
She just looks at the floor shaking slightly while I just stare at her not knowing why she's doing that. She steps back and goes back to checking things as I look back at the guy not ready to back down. "Who do you think you are treating people like that" I say angrily as I can tell he's terrified the girl to make her do everything. "Are you sure you want to talk back to me baby" he says and steps towards me while my fists tighten.
"You killed that guy and are terrifying this girl that's done nothing wrong" I say feeling angrier by the second at the nerve he has. "I think you should take a moment to think about what you're saying baby" he says while he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small knife. "You think that's going to scare me, theres zombies outside that can do so much worse than that little blade" I say as I want to laugh at how pathetic he seems.
Chances were that he didn't even know how to use a knife and wouldn't actually be able to do anything more than threaten people. "You think I won't use this" he says confidently as I laugh a little at his efforts to threaten me. I walk over to the window and look out wondering why we even came downstairs since it was more crowded. "Don't turn your back to me" he says obviously getting angrier as I just turn my head to face him while I laugh a little more.
"You're pathetic for threatening people while there's zombies everywhere" I say and turn back to the window while looking out. "Go out and look for this car" I hear his voice say so I look over to the girl as she walks over and grabs the keys from him. "You can't go out there, it's suicide" I say to the girl as I see her hands shaking. She doesn't say anything but walks over to the window and starts moving the glass to the side.
"Hey you don't have to listen to him, it's your life" I say but it doesn't seem like she heard me. I reach my hand out to her but before I can grab her arm I feel a painful and cold sensation in my leg. I try to ignore it but when I lean my weight over onto the leg i collapse to the floor. "It'll be alright" I hear the girl say to herself before jumping through the open window and starting to run to find the car. I try to push myself up but end up just falling back down.
I look down at my leg to see the small knife blade sticking out as blood pours out of the wound. It all sinks in as I start to realise the pain that I was managing to ignore due to the motivation to stop that girl. I didn't even know her name. I have to hold back a scream as I feel tears build up in my eyes while I reach over to the blade and pull it out. It wasn't that deep since the blade was small but it still hurt like hell and I couldn't clear my mind to ignore the pain.
"That's what happens when you don't listen" the guy hisses at me while clutching my hair tightly. "Make sure not to get on my bad side now baby" he says as he lets go of my hair as I glare at him. Now that he was closer I finally realise who he was. He was the guy at the school gate and the one I saw the morning I went to the nurse's office.
I'm sure his name was Myung-hwan since I remember Gwi nam saying something about him. He would always make remarks about the girls in school and tried to pick fights with some guys. I look down at my leg again as I can only reach down and hold the bleeding wound as it burned in the palm of my hand.
