《My halfbie - GwinamXreader》Chapter 3

Gwi nam walks ahead of me and checks all the corridors as we walk quietly through the school. Once we get to the stairs we look up to see a few zombies on the stairs. "We'll run past them" he says and goes to run but I pull him back. "I can't run as fast as you" I say as he seems to have forgotten that I had shorter legs than him. "Do you trust me" he says as I hesitate but nod a little.
"Come here I'll carry you" he says as I want to protest but also don't want to make much noise with all the zombies around. "Won't that just make us slower" I whisper as he shakes his head while looking around. "I'm much stronger now" he says as I hesitate so he just pulls me closer to him and lifts me up slightly. I quickly wrap my arms around his neck so I don't fall as he holds his arms around my waist. "A warning would be nice" I say quietly before pulling myself up as I let my legs wrap around his waist so he wouldn't have to hold me.
"You're like a koala" he whispers in my ear as I slap the back of his head. "Shut it pirate boy" I whisper back as he leans back so he can face me. "Ok that was uncalled for, it's funny but wow it's low" he says quietly as I hold back a laugh. "Sorry I'll make it up to you after by buying you a parrot" I say and end up having to hold back another laugh. "I forgot you're a horrible person" he says as I smile while he pulls me up slightly before tightening his grip around my waist. "Make sure not to let go idiot" he says as I give him a thumbs up before leaning my head on his shoulder and making sure my arms were wrapped around him so I wouldn't fall.
He starts running up the stairs while skipping about three steps every time. I just watched the floor in amazement since that shouldn't normally be possible. He then starts running down a corridor while I see zombies pass by us not really taking much notice. He stops running before I hear him open one of the doors and going in. I let myself down as he closes the door behind. I look around and see a zombie that's already noticed us and is now running at me. I manage to grab a metal tray from the counter and hit the zombie across the head with it. I step past and shove it to the floor before starting to hit it over and over again in the back of the head.
"Hey I think it's alright now" Gwi nam says while grabbing my arm lightly as I keep trying to swing at the zombie that wasn't moving anymore. I get up slowly still holding onto the tray tightly just in case it moves again. Gwi nam pulls me away from it before grabbing it by the back of the shirt and dragging it over to the window. "What are you" I start saying before he pushes open the window and throws the zombie out. "Sure that should work" I say and look around the room to make sure there wasn't anything else here.

After I glance around the room I walk over to a clean bed and fall onto it. "It's better than the apartment ones" I say before looking over to see Gwi nam already lying on one. I feel myself smile while looking over at him as it felt like we were just hanging out like before the whole zombie thing happened. "Sit up for a second" I say as I just hear him groan.
I walk over to the cabinets and find some rubbing alcohol. I grab some cloth as well before going over to Gwi nam. "I told you to sit up for a second" I say as he just groans again but this time pushes himself up. "This won't take long" I say as pour some rubbing alcohol and disinfectant onto the cloth. I reach up to his face and hold his cheek as he opens the good eye for a moment as I start wiping the bad eye. He tries to move away but I just move the cloth back over since it needed to be cleaned.
"I know it hurts but please try to keep quiet" I say as I keep rubbing some of the blood off it before he grabs my arm. "It's fine now" he says in a low tone as I feel his hand getting uncomfortably tight on my arm. "Just one moment" I say as I keep wiping the worst of the blood off. His hand tightens on my arm again as it now feels like it could break any second.
"Gwi nam your hand" I choke out as looks over and realises what he was doing before pulling his hand away quickly. "I'm so sorry, I didn't realise I was hurting you, I didn't mean to" he says while moving back to the edge of the bed and holding his hands closer to himself. "It's alright you didn't mean to, I know you wouldn't hurt me you're not like that" I say as he doesn't seem much better. "Hey it's fine, no harm done" I say trying again but he just stays leaning against the wall on the edge of the bed just staring at his hands.
"Get some sleep, you'll feel better then" I say before getting up and starting to look around the room for what might help. I end up piling all the things that might be useful on one bed while glancing over at Gwi nam every now and then to check if he was alright. Once I double check everywhere I look over at Gwi nam again to see that he ended up falling asleep. I walk over quietly before grabbing a blanket from another bed and pulling it over him as he sleeps peacefully.
I walk back and forth for a while just thinking of what I could do to help since I felt useless at the moment. I look out the window at the school yard that had zombies scattered everywhere. I lean against the window ledge and open the window a little before breathing in some of the air from outside. I let my mind drift as I feel some nerves settle since this was the first time I got a proper break since I left my apartment.

After a couple minutes I get bored so I start looking for some food but can't find anything edible. I glance over at Gwi nam to see that he was still fast asleep so I just walk over to another bed and sit down trying to think of anywhere nearby that might have food apart from the cafeteria since I can't even begin to imagine how many zombies are there. I decide to try and see if the corridor had many zombies since I could go to the classes down the hall and search for any sort of food. I make sure the jacket Gwi nam gave me was fully zipped up before going over to the door.
I grab the tray from before as well as a bottle that I could as a distraction if I needed it. I slide the door open a little and glance around just to check before going out. I slide the door open some more and check one more time before slipping out into the corridor and moving down the hallway until I reached a classroom. I check through the window of the door before slowly entering the room.
Once inside I close the door behind and start going over to the bags that were left around. I search through them and find a few lunch boxes here and there as well as some snacks. I empty one of the bags before putting the lunch boxes in it and grabbing the snacks as well and stuffing them on top of the boxes. Once I checked all the bags I zip the one I filled and pull it onto my back. I grab the tray and bottle before heading back to the door.
Before going out I decide to check the teachers desk for anything useful just in case. I go over and pull out the drawer on the stand and start moving some of the papers around. I pull out a lighter which might come in handy later so I slide it into my pocket carefully. I check the rest of the drawer before hearing a snarling noise from outside. I duck down so I was out of view from the windows before crawling over to the door since I needed to get back to the nurses office.
I listen for a bit before sliding the door open a little and glancing down the corridor. I notice a couple zombies at the end of the corridor which wouldn't be a problem but there was one much closer to the nurses office that made me hesitate. I could just call Gwi nam since he would probably hear me from the office but he needed to sleep so I just take a breath while clutching the tray tighter. I step out quickly and start bolting towards the nurses office as the one closest notices me straight away.
It rushes towards me as I keep running towards the office door. I reach for the door but before I can pull it open the zombie that noticed me lunged forward at me. I manage to side step it as I push it away once it was past. It coils around in an unnatural manner and flails it's arms at me. I raise the tray and hit it roughly across the head but it didn't seem to do anything. It snaps around and tries to lunge for me as I just back away and try to reach for the door.
It reaches it arm out and grabs at me which I manage to keep avoiding for the moment. I crouch a little before shoving the tray into the zombies open mouth before I grab it's mangled arm. I shove it to the side before tackling it roughly into the wall. I back away slightly before running at it again making sure to keep away from its mouth. I grab one of its legs and lift it slightly while pushing it out of the window as it starts falling to the ground.
"Sorry" I say quietly since I felt bad as I knew it used to be a student here. Before the large crowd of zombies get to me I turn and open the office door and go inside. I slide the door closed behind me and hold it closed as I can hear the scraping of nails against the wooden door. I keep holding it shut until the scraping noise stops and I can't hear any growling from the other side of the door.
I let out a sigh before letting my legs give way under me as I rake a hand through my hair. I look over at Gwi nam to make sure I didn't wake him since I thought he needed the sleep. He was still lying there sound asleep just moving a little every now and stern in his sleep. That was one thing I knew about him though from the times I hung out with him.
He was a restless sleeper so every now and then he would just roll over, move about and sometimes he'd kick the blanket off in his sleep. I found it quite funny that even when he was asleep he didn't seem to stop making a fuss. I let the bag slide off my shoulder into my palm as I push myself back to my feet and go over to the pile of stuff I found and placed the bag on top.
I go to over to the other clean bed and lie down while pulling my legs up to my chest to keep warm. I pull the jacket over my legs as I just lie there watching the door in case a zombie came in. I pull the lighter out of my pocket and lean over and place it on the floor just under the bed so I wouldn't step on it. I decide to stay awake until Gwi nam woke up so I knew he wouldn't get hurt in his sleep.
