Zyria sat in the passenger seat of Knox's car as he drove toward his house. After a filling meal and a lot of baby talk, Zyria asked Knox and Dakota if they could leave because she had enough.

"So are you and my grand baby dating?" Grandma Shania asked Knox as everyone ate their food talking to each other. Zyria's eyes widened as she coughed repeatedly choking on her piece of turkey.

"Mom don't ask him that" Zyria's mother said as she shook her head eating on some yams.

"It's just a question" Shania said to her daughter before reverting her attention back to Knox who was shocked at the older lady's question.

"No ma'am we aren't together" Knox said as he leaned back in his chair clearing his throat. Shania stared at Knox for a few seconds before forming the 'mhm' sound; not believing him for a second.

"Well then" Dakota mumbled awkwardly to herself staring at her food as she bit her lip. Zyria looked at her and Dakota mouthed a 'wow' to her before leaning back in her chair as she looked back to Zyria's grandmother.

"Well do you both like each other?" Grandma Chydé said looking at Zyria and Knox with a small frown plastered on her face.

"Nana" Zyria started as her cheeks grew red in embarrassment as she looked at the table. Knox raised his eyebrows at the question but didn't answer.

"I think it's none of our business and I'll like to go back to the less awkward dinner where we was having fun and just fine" Uncle Leo said as he rolled his eyes eating his turkey. Shania and Chydé both glared at him making him glare back.

"Be quiet" Chydé said to her son before looking back at Knox and Zyria as she waited for an answer.

"Well" Shania said clearly waiting as well.

"Um" Zyria started and Dakota cleared her throat making her turn her head to her.

"Don't answer that question Zyria" Leo said shaking his head in annoyance of his mother's nosiness.

"Leon do you want to get hit upside your head with this shoe" Chydé said pulling her black flat shoe off holding it in her hand as she looked at her son.

"Mama you are so damn nosey it's embarrassing" Leo said as he sat back in his seat crossing his arms over his chest.

"Um mama can we be excused" Zyria asked her mother referring to her and the two siblings sitting beside her.

"Sure honey" She replied and Zyria quickly stood up along with Knox and Dakota.

"Thank you so much for the wonderful meal" Dakota said smiling at Zyria's mother before excusing herself as she left the dining room.

"Nice to meet you all" Knox said nodding before excusing himself as well. Zyria looked at her grandmothers raising her eyebrow before sighing and leaving the table quietly.

"So you guys didn't answer the question" Dakota said suddenly from the back seat of the car as Knox pulled up to his and her house. Zyria looked at Knox and Knox rolled his eyes at his sister's eagerness.

"We aren't dating Dakota now get out the car" He said harshly and gripped his hands around the steering wheel tightly.

"You guys could have just said no you weren't then maybe we all would still be eating." Dakota said before getting out of the car, heading inside the house. Zyria sighed and bit her lip as she played with her hair nervously.

"I'm sorry about my grandmothers. They can be a little much sometimes." Zyria mumbled to Knox softly after a few minutes of silence. Knox sighed and nodded but didn't say anything.

"I hope you liked the food though. I'm sorry everything got ruined so fast" Zyria added and Knox pulled his hands from around the steering wheel putting them in his lap.

"Nothing was ruined Zyria. It wouldn't be a true family dinner without a little bit of chaos sometimes" He mumbled and Zyria nodded as she broke out into a small smile.

"True"

Scratching the back of his neck, Knox took in a sharp breath before saying slowly "Listen Um I know I took forever to answer their questions about us"

Cutting him off, Zyria put her hand on top of his as she shook her head. "It's fine Knox I think we both were just shocked and thrown off by their questions"

Knox shook his head and looked down at their hands making Zyria realize and slowly pull her hand away.

"Zyria I don't think you understand what I want to say" Knox mumbled and Zyria frown confused as she leaned against her door turning toward him more.

"What do you mean?"

"Zyria I have a cru-" Knox started but was cut off by Dakota banging loudly on the car window scaring Zyria.

"Knox! Knox! Ares fell and isn't responding!" Dakota yelled harshly in panic as she continued to bang on the window.

Knox's eyes widened and quickly took off his seatbelt hurrying out of the car quickly. He ran toward the front door and into the house in panic.

"Wait" Zyria yelled as she got out the car and Dakota stopped her shaking her head.

"Just wait here please" Dakota said before hurrying into the house after Knox. Zyria frowned confused on what was going on before sighing leaning against the car door as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Get in the car!" Zyria heard someone yelling and Zyria looked up to see Knox running out of the house with a small boy in his arms. He continued to yell and Zyria hurried to get in the car with Dakota getting in the back seat to sit next to the young boy.

"What's going on" Zyria asked as Knox got into the front seat after placing the boy in the back seat.

No one answered her and Zyria sighed as she looked at boy confused to everything.
