"Zyria!" Zyria's mother yelled from downstairs. Zyria groaned and got out of bed walking to the door and down stairs.
It is now thanksgiving day and Zyria really wished that her family didn't celebrate the stupid holiday.
"I'm here" Zyria said walking into the kitchen yawning. Her mother turned toward her mixing a bowl with a stressed look on her face.
"I need you to go to the store and get me some mushrooms" her mother said and Zyria nodded rubbing her face.
"Okay" she said softly before giving her mother a kiss on the cheek and walked back upstairs to get grab her shoes and keys.
She didn't feel the need to change her clothes since she was wearing grey Nike sweatpants and a white crop top. She grabbed a sweatshirt and pulled it on top of her crop top before putting her slides on.
"Anything else you want from the store mama" Zyria asked her mother before she left. Her mother nodded and wrote a list down before handling it to Zyria.
"Where Zaire?" Zyria asked her and she rolled her eyes.
"He got up early and left before I could even get him something to do" her mother replied and Zyria nodded before leaving the house and getting in her car.
Her phone rang making her look down at her phone and quickly answer it putting the phone on speaker.
"What's up" Zyria said as she pulled out of driveway.
"Why did my mama wake me up talking about get up and help" Kaia replied and Zyria smiled.
"My mom is making me go to the store"
"She is acting like we actually celebrate this stupid holiday" Kaia huffed and Zyria heard shuffling through the phone.
"Thanksgiving is a smack in the face to the Native Americans. They should change this holiday like they did with Columba's Day." Zyria said as she stopped at a red light.

"Exactly like I'm sorry but America is a fucked up country"
"On God" Zyria mumbled before looking out her window frowning. The light turned green and someone blew their horn making Zyria flick them the bird as she drove off.
"Look I'm going to call you back later. She's calling for me like I ain't hear her the first three fucking times" Kaia said before hanging up quickly. Zyria smiled and shook her head as she pulled into the store's parking lot.
"Okay this is a lot" Zyria mumbled looking at the list as she got out of the car after parking it. She sighed and locked the car doors before walking inside of the store grabbing a cart.
Zyria walked around the store grabbing everything her mother needed on the list but not before grabbing some snacks and drinks for herself. Zyria hummed a small tune as she walked around. She walked to the milk section and grabbed cartons of white and chocolate milk.
"So you're a fan of chocolate milk then" Someone said behind Zyria making her jump and almost drop the carton of milk.
She turned to see Knox standing in front of her with his hands in his usual black jeans, wearing a neon green sweatshirt that had the words blah written on it. Zyria's eyes casted up toward his hair that was in a messy style like he just woke up but was wet at the same time making Zyria think that he was in a shower not too long ago.
"Hi" she mumbled putting the two cartons in the basket. He looked down at her cart and nodded his head slowly before reaching around her to grab some chocolate milk for himself.
"Hey" he mumbled and Zyria looked down at her list to see that she was finished getting everything.

"Thanksgiving shopping?" He asked her and she nodded smiling.
"Yeah mom is stressing about everything needing to be perfect" Zyria mumbled shrugging and Knox nodded before scratching the back of his neck.
"Okay so you know how you invited me to eat thanksgiving with your family" Knox started before pausing as he looked away from Zyria and at her cart.
"Yeah"
"Is there a way Dakota can come too. If not that's fine but I don't want to leave her alone today. But if that isn't possible then that's fine I j-"
"She can come." Zyria said quickly interrupting Knox's little rant. He smiled and nodded.
"I haven't even told my mom that you were coming so when I tell her I'll just say that your sister is coming as well" Zyria said shrugging before walking around the cart getting behind it.
"Is your mom going to be okay with it?" Knox asked her and Zyria nodded.
"Of course and if she isn't then we can come eat out for thanksgiving just the three of us" Zyria mumbled and Knox frowned but nodded.
"Okay well what time do we need to be there?" Knox asked her and Zyria bit her lip thinking about it.
"Come around six" Knox nodded before saying a quick goodbye and leaving.
Zyria's eyes followed him and she saw him heading toward Octavia who was waiting by one of the aisles pushing around a cart. He put the milk in her basket making Zyria frown before sighing.
Zyria's attention reverted down to her phone as it began ringing. Zyria's hands quickly answered the call and put the phone to her ear.
"You are almost here?" Her mother's panic and stressed out voice sounded through the phone.
"I'm on my way out of the store" Zyria replied as she pushed the cart to the check out lines.
"Wait make sure to get the seven up-"
"The seven up soda for the seven up cake. I know. I have it mom" Zyria mumbled cutting her mother off. She heard her mother sigh a little before she mumbled a small good and hanged up.
"54.23" the lady said as she finished ringing up Zyria's items. Zyria's eyes widened before she sighed pulling out her credit card handling it to the girl.
"Have a nice day" The lady said after giving Zyria her card back when she was done. Zyria nodded and put her bags back in the cart before hurrying outside.
"Zaire better cash app me half of this cash" Zyria mumbled putting her bags into the car. Her phone began ringing again making Zyria groan as she struggled to grab it as she put the eggs in the car.
"Yes?" She mumbled and got in the car starting it.
