Raelynn's pov:

This morning, Cassandra sent me a link to a new place that opened recently. It was a restaurant in the middle of the woods and she wanted to try the food. Not gonna lie, it looked pretty cool.

We didn't want to go alone so we ended up telling Kyson and Valentino to join us. It's been a month now since Valentino and Cassandra were officially dating. We were going on a double date but then we remembered Ryker and Natalie, who made their relationship official three weeks ago.

Ryker didn't tell me that he asked Natalie out as he wanted to get back to me for not telling him about Kyson and me. Natalie was the one who told me and I went to kick Ryker's ass. Literally.

So right now we were having lunch together on a triple date.

Lunch was delicious.

However, during the whole time, Cassandra looked uneasy. She kept glancing at the corner of the room and when I look, there was no one. I figured that she saw something there and it seems to be upsetting her.

Ryker noticed it too and he glanced at me a few times.

When we finished eating, we made our way downstairs. I felt Kyson intertwining our fingers as we walk on the wooden path on the dirt. I gave him a smile, which he returns before rubbing his thumb on my skin.

He was feeling better now. After his dad's funeral, he took a few days to heal and to be back to his normal self.

Cassandra suddenly stopped making us halt in our steps. She looked at the woods beside us, her eyes scanning the area.

"What did you see?" Val asked her curiously.

"Something..." She said briefly.

"You mean an animal?" Natalie asked confusedly.

"No, nothing alive," Cassandra replied briefly.

"Should we worry?" Ryker asked her.

"I don't know. Ever since I stepped here I can feel the agony trapped around us and it's not a good feeling. It makes me wanna throw up." Cassandra explained before sighing.

"How about we get the heck out of here," I suggested.

"Yeah- what the fuck did you hear that?" Cassandra's head snapped toward the woods again. It sounded like a branch falling but we saw nothing.

"Okay, what's happening right now?" Kyson inquired alarmed.

"She's a medium, which means she can see, feel and get in contact with spirits. She's having a moment right now." Val told Kyson.

"Oh," both Kyson and Natalie said, surprised.

"Can we go over there?" Cassandra asked pointing at the woods.

"No!" Both Ryker and I replied instantly.

"Something is telling me to go over there." She added.

"That's exactly why we are going in the opposite direction." I pointed out.

"Fine, I'll go alone." She walked into the woods.

She's stubborn...

"Oh God,"

Val sighed before jogging behind her.

"We can't let her alone," I say turning toward Ryker.

He groaned, throwing his head back, "I fucking knew you were going to say that."

We all ended up following her into the woods, leaving the wooden path to the dirt road. As we walk deeper, this side of the forest was thicker and darker, the sunlight barely penetrating through the leaves and branches. Suddenly the wind picks up, making a whistle as it goes through the small gaps between the leaves and the branches.

"I hate this place," Ryker murmured.

"Careful with what you say, I feel like we are being watched," Cassandra told him.

A shiver runs through my body making me wrap my arms around Kyson's arm. Fifteen minutes later, we reached a small canal, full of water. There was a trail made by some big rocks and Cassandra was the first one to walk on them, crossing to the other side.

We followed her, even if this was a stupid thing to do.

"It feels heavier here," Cassandra murmured.

Five more minutes deeper into the woods and we were all shocked at the new sight.

"It's pretty but it's scary," Val commented.

"Don't tell me that we have to go inside." Ryker deadpan. I glanced at him and saw that Natalie was hanging on his arm, kinda like I was doing with Kyson.

Cassandra was about to talk when we heard a big splash. It was like someone throw a rock in the water but it was none of us, we were still standing at the same spot.

"Looks like it's a yes,"

Once again, we walked on the rocks but we had to be careful as it was slippery due to the algae on them before wandering inside the ruin.

"Wow,"

We heard something being thrown on the ground next to us making us quite alarmed.

"Is anyone here?" Cassandra spoke loudly.

She walked in the middle alone.

"You know I can see you and feel you. If you are the one who brought us here, make yourself known, please." Cassandra talked while looking around.

"You can knock, throw anything on the ground-"

We heard another rock being thrown away. This time it sounded far away from us.

"She's here," Cassandra spoke making us freeze on the spot.

"Who?" Val inquired.

"The one that I have been seeing in the restaurant, she's just floating there looking at us. She's in a white dress and a blue apron. She looks like a maid." Cassandra described as she looked into the distance.

"Well, we don't know the story of this place." I pointed out.

"It looks like a temple though," Kyson commented.

True.

"Why did you bring us here?" Cassandra asked the maid ghost.

She let out a sigh, "She just freaking disappeared."

Suddenly the wind picks up. Mind you, from the moment we stepped inside here, there was no breeze at all.

"Someone else just came through and this energy is not good," Cassandra spoke.

"So the maid ghost got scared and disappeared because of this energy?" Natalie asked intrigued.

"Yeah..."

Val walked behind Cassandra and put his hands on her forearms before swiftly turning her and pushing her toward us.

"What are you doing?" She asked Val confused.

"Getting our asses out of here before anyone of us get a freaking old spirit attachment." He stated.

"He's right," Ryker agreed.

We turned around ready to leave when we felt something heavy fall close to us.

We all jumped back startled.

"It looks like it doesn't want you to leave." Natalie pointed out as she looked at Cassandra with wide eyes.

"Uh huh, we are leaving." Val shook his head. He bend to the side, easily picking Cassandra up and threw her on his shoulder like she weighed nothing. She squealed, hanging onto his shirt.

"I can walk,"

He walked out, ignoring her.

As we walk away, we started to hear more stuff behind us and around us. We heard footsteps, branches falling and low cries and it only made us run faster to the canal.

"Whoever is here cannot follow us home. You have to stay here." Cassandra spoke as Val crossed the canal.

We successfully made it back on the wooden path. We took a break, breathing hard.

"Well that was interesting," Kyson spoke.
