Raelynn's pov:
Around 10 30 pm, Val came to pick me up. Ryker has a spare key to the house so I put my keys in my bag. Val stepped out of the car and another individual stepped from the passenger seat taking me by surprise.
"Cassandra," I spoke.
She smiled at me, "Hi."
"She's coming with us," Val told me.
Oh.
I walked to her while Val came to pick up my suitcase and put it in the trunk.
"Val told me everything. Are you ready to meet Kyson's dad?" She asked, pumping her shoulder against mine.
I sighed, "It's the first time that I'm feeling nervous."
She chuckled, wrapping her arm around my shoulder, "It'll be alright."
I hope so...
"So, what excuse did you tell your dad?" I asked Cassandra curiously.
"I told him that I will be staying at your place for a few days." She replied with a nervous smile.
Of course, she used me as a scapegoat.
"Alright, ladies let's go," Val said before closing the trunk. We all sat in the car and Val drove us to the airport. I wasn't surprised when he drove to one of the big private jets.
During the day after that I finished packing, I read a few things about Mr Lucero, both in the mafia world and the normal world.
I learned that he was a powerful ex-mafia leader and he was wealthy. I also found a few articles where people mention his houses, his cars collection, his weapon collection and of course, his wealth.
"Oh my God," Cassandra gasped mesmerised by the jet.
Val smiled," If that's your reaction to the jet, I wonder how you will react to the inside."
Cassandra never saw or travelled by a private jet before but Ryker and I did. It was for a mission and dad was able to ask one of his friends to lend us his jet.

Now we have money to buy our own private jet but we chose not to buy one. Travelling on common planes make it easier to stay low-key and easier to do mission.
Val parked the car and two guys came to us. One started to take our suitcases while the other grab the keys and sat in the driver's seat.
"Come on,"
Val walked first to the stairs and we follow him. Cassandra was right behind him while I was behind her. Once inside, I watched as her eyes widened slightly.
"Damn," she commented.
Val put his hand forward in front of Cassandra. She put her hand on his and he guided her to one of the seats. I walked and sat on the other side, near one of the windows.
We didn't have to wait for too long before the jet took off. We were served a drink and we got to watch a movie on the screen in front of us.
----
Surprisingly, I slept well on the plane. I woke up with Cassandra's giggles and the pilot announcing that we will land shortly. Val was making all types of jokes about a character in the movie that they were watching and Cassandra was cracking up badly.
I'm happy that she was finally letting herself be happy and carefree.
Fifteen minutes later, the jet landed. We stepped out and there was a black colour van waiting for us. A man got our suitcases and load them in the trunk while we sat in the back of the van, which was spacious.
"Mr Lucero told me to bring you to his lake house. So we will be heading there." Val informed me and I gave him a nod.
"This man is wealthy," Cassandra murmured.
"That he is." Val agreed.

The driver started to drive and soon the scenery changed. We left the city full of buildings to a more wood, forestry area. The road was empty, long and quiet. There were woods on both sides of the way, making the air feel fresher and chilly.
It took us forty minutes to finally see the mansion.
The car stopped and we stepped out. Both Cassandra and I looked around at our surroundings.
"Let's go inside," Val told us.
This morning when I came to see dad in the backyard, he was acting weird. Yesterday he asked me again to bring Raelynn here and I refused. During the whole day, he ignored me and was grumpy.
Alec and Tobias were quite amused by the situation and they kept taunting me the entire day.
However, today dad was happy and back to his cheerful self. I know dad and I know that he doesn't forgive and forget easily. Right now, we were by the deck drinking our coffee. Both my brothers were giving him sneaky smirks, which made me feel like they were hiding something from me.
"Ok, what are you hiding?" I inquired.
"Nothing," Both Alec and Tobias said at the same time.
"You just prove me right," I pointed out. Whenever they lie, they tend to speak together and quick.
"Fine, we have a surprise for you." Dad started making me look at him.
"What surprise?" I inquired.
"Well since you refuse to bring your girlfriend here, I made her come here." Dad shrugged.
My heart skip a beat.
"What do you mean you made her come here?" I asked quite alarmed.
"I got her kidnap and I sent the jet to get her here." Dad explained before looking at his watch," She should be here right now."
I abruptly stood up," You kidnap her!"
What the heck?
"Yes and don't worry I ask your friend to do it, I didn't send any stranger or a dangerous man to get her here," Dad reassured me.
"You ask my friend... May I know which friend you are talking about right now?" I questioned.
Whoever he is, he's dead. I mean if Raelynn didn't kill him first, I'll take care of him.
Dad opened his mouth but then he closed it, his eyes fixed on something or someone behind me. I turned around and my eyes landed on her.
(Raelynn's outfit⬆)
Woah.
"Well damnnn," I heard Alex murmur. I wanted to turn around to smack his head but my eyes refused to move elsewhere.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
