"I have to go," I told Natalie as I read the message.
"Ryker?" She asked me and I gave her a nod.
"At least he's replying to your messages." She murmured but I heard it. I gave her a questioning look.
"What do you mean?" I inquired.
She hesitated to talk, "He left me on read since the morning."
Right now, it was 3 15 pm.
"Oh," I spoke, "I'll try to talk-"
She stopped me.
"No, I don't want him to think that I'm complaining about him to his sister." She explained, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Don't worry, he isn't like that. I think what might have happened was that he read the message, went to work and then he forgot to reply." I try to explain.
I wasn't making up excuses for Ryker. He did the same thing to me a lot of times in the past and honestly, it never bothered me since I'm his sister but I understand Natalie and I wasn't going to take my brother's side.
"Right," she said not believing me.
"I'll get going, see you around."
"See ya."
----
I reached my mansion and I parked my car. I stepped out, making my way to our office upstairs. The whole mansion was silent and empty as most of the guys were out working and some were in their rooms relaxing.
I opened the door and stepped inside. Ryker was sitting on his chair, eating some chicken nuggets as his eyes were fixed on his laptop's screen.
"Hello,"
I spoke as I made my way to my chair.
"Where were you?" He inquired briefly glancing at me.
"Out," I replied briefly.
He leaned in his seat, turning to me, "That's so informative. I wouldn't have thought of it."

His sarcasm was on point.
I shrugged, "Take the hint bro."
He reached to grab something on the side and lightly threw it on my lap. I looked down and it was one of the chicken wraps that I usually order.
Thankfully it was wrapped tightly in the paper and nothing spilt on my clothes.
I unwrapped it and started to eat.
"So what's up?" I asked him casually.
"Nothing much, same old routine and you?" He asked, his focus on me.
"Same thing..." I replied.
We both remained quiet as I continued to eat and he was now sipping on some sprite, his eyes were back on the laptop's screen.
"So... why didn't you reply to Natalie?" I casually asked. As the words sink in, he choked on his drink making him coughed a few times before he looked at me wide-eyed.
"Shit! I forgot to reply." He spoke.
"You are screwed," I commented.
He put the drink on the table and rushed to grab his phone. I leaned in my seat, looking at him struggling to unlock his phone.
"Damn fingerprint!" He cursed.
I laughed.
"Yeah, laugh at my misery." He stated glaring at me.
"Oh and don't be surprised if she doesn't text you back," I added.
He paused for a second.
"I'm calling her." He stated.
"Again, don't be surprised if she doesn't pick up on the first ring," I said.
I spent the next hour looking at Ryker trying to talk to Natalie. She didn't pick up any of his calls or answered his messages but Ryker went on and continued. In the end, he stood up and grabbed his keys.
"Are you going to her house?" I asked him.
"Yes," he answered as he opened the door, going out.

"Bring her some flowers and chocolate or any snacks," I called out as he left.
"Got it!" He yelled back.
Stupid boy.
I stayed at the mansion for a few more minutes before I drove to my house. I know Ryker wouldn't be back soon and I was getting bored there, so I came home. I took a shower, got in my crop top t-shirt and shorts before jumping on my bed.
I grabbed a random book from the bedtable's drawer and leaned back to read. I only made it to five pages before I heard my phone ring. I reached to grab it from my bed table.
Kyson...
"Hey," I said as I pick up. I put the book down, the pages against the sheets.
"Hi," he responded, his voice was calm.
"How did things go?" I asked him. I pulled my leg against my chest, my arm wrapped loosely around my leg.
"Could have gone better. We lost Pierre but Erica is out and everyone is drinking to celebrate that." He replied making me chuckle.
"At least you are at peace now," I commented.
"Hmm,"
"Aren't you going to drink to celebrate?" I asked him.
"Well, I was hoping to drink with you," His answer made me smile.
"Then come home," I said.
"I am, can you open the door please?"
That made my heart skip a beat. Was he seriously here?
"You are kidding," I said.
"Not really,"
"Seriously?"
I heard him chuckle, "Yes."
I hurriedly made my way downstairs and opened the front door. There he was standing in a grey t-shirt and black sweatpants. He was holding a bottle of wine in his hand.
"Hi," he smiled.
I chuckled, "Hi."
He walked in and I closed the door behind him. I also realised that we were still on the call, so I hang up. We both made our way to the kitchen where I took out two wine glasses while he opened the bottle of wine.
He pours the drink and gave me mine.
"Thank you," I said.
"Thanks to you for finding her truth, I still can't believe that they got me so easily. Once I find Pierre, he's a dead man." He said before lightly tapping his glass against mine.
"He might be already on his next target," I commented.
"I know but I'll get him."
I know he will...
I walked to the couch with him following me. I let him sit down first and motioned for him to put his leg up on the couch. He gave me a questioning look but did it anyways. Once he did, I settled myself in between his legs, my back against his front. He let one of his arms wrap loosely around my neck, his hand falling on my chest.
I felt him kiss my temple.
We both lightly tap our wine glasses together before sipping on the drink. We stayed in this comfortable position for a while, just silent and drinking our wine.
"I want to take you on a date." He spoke, breaking the silence.
"That sounds nice." I smiled.
"It'll be nice." He promised.
"Hmm, can we wait till my face is less bruised though?" I asked him.
"Sure,"
