"so how'd i make it home before you?" osamu asked while sitting on the couch.
atsumu threw his jacket onto the hook and stretched his arms over his head. "her grandma convinced me to come inside the house and y/n wanted me to stay while she explained stuff with her grandma."
"how cute." osamu said and threw a chip into her mouth. "she actually wanted you to stay."
"she used the "i'm hurt" card on me." atsumu sighed and sat next to osamu.
"do we need to have the talk again?" osamu cleared his throat and clasped his hands together.
"no thanks."
"so now will you admit you like her? cause if you don't then you'll have to live with me talking about it everyday."
atsumu glared at his twin before answering. "fine, yes. is that what you wanted?"
"yup." osamu nodded and returned to his chips.
"okay bye." atsumu walked up the stairs and into his room. he checked his phone for any texts from you and didn't see anything.

: i'll try
: tell me when you're done
: okay
atsumu turned off his phone and went into the shower to pass time. he washed his hair twice and then his body twice for no reason. then spent his sweet time standing under the shower head, letting the water fall onto him.
once he was done and got into clothes he grabbed a towel to dry his hair with and picked up his phone. no texts.
"thought you drowned or something." osamu said when his twin walked out of the bathroom.
"you wish."
"i do wish that." osamu said before closing the door. "did you use all the hot water!" osamu shouted, but atsumu had walked into his room and got into his bunk. he turned on the lights and the teddy bear you loved to cuddle with when you came over.
he took out his school work and did his homework while waiting for you. he got through two assignments before your notification popped up.
: im freeeeeeeee
: you should feel special bc you're the first person i texted
: how was it
: whoa pretty boy
: you answered that text before i could look over mine for spelling errors
: ankle? swollen? fractured? broken? please say broken. i would love to see you walk in crutches. i bet you'd fall.

: "that's it"
: nationals?
: idk yet, depends on my recovery
: most likely not
: damn, that sucks
: yeah
: i can bring my teddy bear over for you
: you'd leave your house just to bring over a stuffed animal for me?
: you can use this as your "my ankle is sprained" excuse
: i would rather use it for a free piggyback ride or food
: you're saying that like i haven't been giving you free piggyback rides for the last month or so

y/n: are you actually gonna be there when i get home
y/n: you should climb through the window for extra effect
and after that text atsumu stopped answering. "is it uncomfortable?" your grandma asked.
"a little." you said and looked down at the cast.
"painful?"
"yup."
"i'll make you a special dinner tomorrow." she said and patted your knee. "atsumu can come over too he wants."
"i think he is." you said. your grandma watched as a smile grew on your face. she shook her head at you being oblivious to your own feeling.
you ignored the cast on your foot for the rest of the drive. when the taxi stopped in front of your house, you saw a familiar figure leaning against the gate.
you were now eager to get out of the car.
"hey sunshine." he said and opened your door.
"hi." he handed you the teddy bear and you took it. "wow, you actually bought it here."
"and i'll be leaving now." he turned around and waited for a few seconds to see if you would tell him to stay.
"wait." atsumu hid the happy expression off his face. "can you.. um... help me?"
"hmmm." atsumu turned around and pretended to think about it. "if i say no?"
"that'll be mean. i'm in pain and you're gonna leave me to limp into the house? what if i fall right in front of the taxi and the driver doesn't see and runs right over me?"
the taxi driver turned his head to you when said that. "she didn't mean it." atsumu grabbed one of your arms and pulled you out.
"byee!" you waved at the driver and leaned onto atsumu. "and thank you!"
atsumu helped you into the house and simply carried you up the stairs and let you down on your bed.
"at least i don't have to run anymore." you said and swung your legs back and forth.
"that's what you're thinking about?" atsumu asked and leaned against the wall. you looked behind your shoulder and was a little disappointed he didn't sit on the bed with you.
"trying to think positive here." you tapped your finger against your head and laid down with the bear on your chest.
"now you can be late to class with an excuse."
"it's gonna be so embrassing walking into school with this thing on. people are gonna think i'm faking it for attention. especially your fan girls."
"don't talk about them." atsumu walked over and pulled you up. you stayed still like a rag doll, letting him do all the work.
"that one girl that asked us to kiss that one time is gonna be all up in our faces again."
"yeah?"
"honestly we don't even act like a couple, i don't get why the only person who knows about the fake dating is osamu. maybe the guys volleyball team knows but is keeping it from us?"
"it's like they're waiting for us catch feelings so they can jump up and shout we told you so right in our faces. we haven't even kissed yet! you remember that ti-"
"let's change that."
"don't interrupt m- what the fuck did you just say?"
"making changes." was the last thing he said before crashing his lips against yours.

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
