"atsumu!" the whole boys team looked at the doors when ayame walked through.

"yeah?" he panting, trying to regain his breath from all the running he just did.

"we have.. issues at our gym and need your help." she said, unsure of what words to use.

"issues?"

"y/n."

"ah, makes sense. i'll be back." atsumu threw the volleyball over to aran before following ayame out. "so what's up with her?"

"you'll see." ayame opened the door to the girls gym to reveal you laying on the floor.

"she dead?"

"nope, ankle." ayame informed and atsumu immediately got concerned.

he walked over to you and crouched down, leaning over you. "hey pretty boy. nice to see you left your practice just to see me."

"sunshine, why are you on the floor?"

"it's comfortable here." you answered.

"so there's nothing wrong with your ankle?"

"nope."

"so can you stand up."

"yup."

"can you walk?"

"yup."

"then how about you show me, yeah?"

"i'd rather stay on the floor."

atsumu looked down to your ankle and then back at you. he slid his arms under your arms and pulled you up.

"up."

you let him drag you up and leaned your body weight on one foot. " i'm up."

"walk."

"no thanks."

"ayame! what's wrong with her?" atsumu called out.

"she fell on her ankle, but at the worst angle possible!" ayame answered while bouncing the ball on the floor.

"so." atsumu leaned forward and grabbed your arm, pulling you forward.

"ow, fuck. you stupid b-" you cursed when that forced you to walk forwards. "completely fine." you recovered and stood back up.

"real nice, let's take acting out of your career choices." atsumu wrapped one of your arms over his shoulders.

"you called us good actors on friday." you reminded him.

"i take that back. i'm the only good actor out of us two." atsumu gave him with you limping behind him and threw you into his back.

"i can walk."

"you looked pitiful." he grunted and leaned down to grab your bag.

"did not." you denied and wrapped your legs around his torso.

"you did."

"did not." you reached over and took your bag from his hands so it would be easier for him.

"what even happened?" he asked while walking to the nurse. he wasn't even sure what the nurse would do to help besides ice.

"i jumped up and then one of the first years jumped up and then she fell onto me and my foot just fell at a weird position." you explained.

"i feel like you should be more upset about this." assume said, looking at your completely neutral face. "nationals aren't that far away."

"it'll hit me some time later." you said and laid the side of your face on his shoulder, looking at his side profile.

"kinda concerning." he said and tried not to look at you. he could feel your gaze drilling into the side of his face, but didn't look.

"yeah." you agreed and sighed. "do you think i'll go to nationals. probably not. the nurse will probably say if i do keep practicing then i'll hurt it even more."

atsumu didn't interrupt your rambling.

"you know a couple weeks ago you would've shut me up by now." you said and poked his cheek.

"yeah. means i don't hate you anymore."

"aw, you even admitted to it." you said and hugged him the best you could without falling off his back.

"congratulations." atsumu said dryly.

he didn't hate you anymore, but liked you more than he should. not that he would ever admit to it though.

he opened the door to the nurse's office and was relieved to see she was still there. "oh my, what happened?" she said and walked out from behind her desk.

"fell on her ankle." atsumu said and let you off on the bed. he sat down in the chair next to you and watched the nurse look at your swollen ankle.

"can you show me what position it was in when you fell?" she asked.

"something like this." you replied and tilted your foot a little to show where you fell.

with your foot pointing to the left and you pointed at the spot. "oh, that's not good." she said and went to the freezer.

"ice, what surprise." atsumu said quietly so the nurse couldn't hear, but you could.

"you'll probably need a brace for that, but for now I can give you ice so the swelling." she handed you the ice pack and you put it on your foot.

"thank you."

"of course, you can either sit here or you can leave with help from him." she said and nodded over at atsumu.

you raised your arms up and atsumu walked over and picked you up. "can we get food on the way home?" you asked.

"i have to stop by the gym." he said.

"after that?"

"maybe."

"please."

"if you stop talking." the walk to the gym was quiet until you were met with the squeaking of shoes and sound of volleyballs being hit.

"hey kita! i have to go!" atsumu called out after getting his backpack.

"wh- what happened?" kita asked and looked at you.

"you fell?" suna asked, looking like he was holding in his laugh.

"no, a first year accidentally collided with me and then i fell. completely out of my control." you answer and took atsumu's bad.

"you still fell." suna said.

"yeah and now i have to get a brace for my ankle, isn't that fun?" you asked, giving him a bright and sarcastic smile.

"the best." hs shot you two thumbs up.

"don't throw her in the water again." osamu said and came over to you two.

"why would you ever think i would do that." atsumu asked.

"because you would."

"to you yeah."

"oh, so you would throw me in the water, but not y/n?" osamu asked.

"yes."

"wow okay."

"can we go yet. i'm hungry. and tired. and want to tell my grandma about the first year." you said, grabbing atsumu's attention.

"yeah. see you guys later." atsumu said and you waved at everyone. "does it hurt?"

"i'm trying not to to think about it so it doesn't hurt and you're not helping." you said and dropped your head onto his shoulder.

"whoops."

"now i have to go to the doctor, for an ankle. that's just sad." you mumbled.

"would you rather have a broken foot?"

"it would save me a trip to the doctor."

"then followed by many more trips." he said.

"food?"

"there's snacks in my backpack." you lifted your head up and opened his backpack. "hey."

"hm?"

"text me when you get back home."

"okay. why?"

"i wanna know you're okay and didn't fall into the sewer or something." he said. "or maybe you will and then i'll be single again."

"you're not getting rid of me that easily."

"and neither are you."
