《Invisible | Tsukishima Kei x Reader》Chapter 22

Its the last day of your break before you start up going to school again. Karasuno starts the spring tournament in almost a month. In the past week you've tried to contact Misawa, but no response. On the last day, you decide to take a lazy day and chill at home, watching a marathon of Disney movies. Wiping your tears, you sing along to Remember Me from Coco.
"ReMeMBER MEEE" You sing with your voice cracking. You wipe your puffy red eyes with tissues and throw them into the almost full trash can next to the couch. You hear the sound of your door bell ring. You stand up and walk over to the door. You open the door and to your surprise, Tsukishima is standing there.
"Were you... crying?" Tsukishima holds up his finger and points to your red eyes.
"Oh!" You smile and rub the back of your head. "Yep!"
"Are you binge watching sad Disney movies?"
"Uh.... maybeee" you look off to the side.
"Weirdo" the corner of Tsukishima's mouth rises.
"Wanna watch The Good Dinosaur?"
"Very tempting offer, but I'm here to see your... sister"
"Kiyoko?" You raise your eyebrow. 'Why would he want to meet with her?' "She's... in her room?"
"Oh Tsukishima." Kiyoko comes out of her room with her coat on. You hold the door open, confused.
"(Name), I'll be gone for a while. You can handle preparing dinner, right?"
"Uh.. sure.. Where are you two going?"
Kiyoko and Tsukishima look at eachother and nod. "Preparing things for the volleyball club"
You narrow your eyes and put your hand on your chin. "Okay..."
"I'll be going now" Kiyoko leaves as Tsukishima follows. You close the door slowly, peeking out. "Suspicious"
You hold the door knob and stare at the wooden door. You run ideas through your mind. Why do you want to know what they're doing?...

You run up to your room and change out of your pajamas. You grab sunglasses and a hat and stick it in a bag.
—
You run out of the house and quickly run to where you can see your sister and Tsukishima. You take out your disguise and put them on. You slowly tiptoe behind Tsukishima and Kiyoko, trying not to make a sound. A crack startles you. You raise your foot and see a broken stick.
What the hell is a stick doing in the middle of the road!??
You jump into the nearest bush. Tsukishima and Kiyoko turn around, looking for the cause of the sound. They shrug and continue their venture into town. You peek your head out of the bush and dust off the leaves. You climb out and follow them down the side walk.
In town, Suga and Daichi sit together at a cafe. Suga drinks herbal tea with cake while Daichi drinks coffee and a bagel. Kiyoko and Tsukishima enter a shop as Suga momentarily stops sipping his tea.
"Shit!" You look around to where your sister went. "I shouldn't have stopped to pet that dog"
"(Name)-chan what are you doing?" Suga says, tapping your shoulder. You jump back.
"S-s-suga-senpai!!" You stammer. Mission abort! Mission abort!! RUN!!
"Could it be?" Suga puts his hand to his mouth. You shake your head, ready to explain yourself.
"(Name)-chan is on her first stake out!!" the living angel cups his hand to his mouth as he begins to tear up. Daichi puts his hand on Suga's shoulders.
"They grow up so fast" Daichi nods his head as Suga cries into his shoulder.
"What..." you stand frozen, not knowing whether you should run or not.
"This must be the first time you've stalked someone isn't it" Suga takes the hat off your head. "This disguise is very tacky"

"I'm sorry..." You pout. You feel attacked, but Suga still looks like a bright beaming light of pureness. It surprises you he could be so criticizing.
"So who are you stalking?"
"I-I wouldn't say its stalking..." You mumble. Its definitely stalking. "I was following Tsukishima and Kiyoko..."
Suga puts his hands on his chin and nods. "Very interesting..."
"I-Its not for anything bad I swear!" You rub your arm. "I'm just curious"
Suga smiles as if he knows something you don't. "I see"
"And... I lost them" You pout, swiping the cap back.
"They went into that bakery over there" Daichi points to a posh building that is familiar to you.
"My favorite bakery?..." you murmur, lifting your sunglasses.
You walk over to the display window and see your sister and Tsukishima looking at the counter of sweets. They stand, shoulder to shoulder... close together. You narrow your eyes to see what cake they were looking at. The person behind the counter takes out a slice out of strawberry shortcake, your favorite pastry. Kiyoko takes a spoon and digs a small piece out. She holds it up for Tsukishima to eat. You feel a slight pain in your heart.
They look like a couple...
Tsukishima face lights up (as in his eyebrows were raised...you know he isn't a school girl). He nods at Kiyoko. You turn away, not wanting to watch anymore. For a reason unknown, you feel slightly queasy, which baffles you to the core. Suga and Daichi look at your unsettling face.
"(Name).."
"I think I'm going to head home and watch another Disney movie..." You smile. "See you guys tomorrow"
--
You take out your phone and text Misawa,
'Hey, are you busy? I need someone to talk to'
You throw your phone to the side. Why do I feel so.... I don't know what this feeling is.
Your phone vibrates with a response.
'Sorry babe I'm with Testuro so I'm busy'
You sigh and scroll through you're previous conversations.
'I'm at work today, sorry!'
'I'm a little busy'
'Testuro is making me help him practice volleyball'
Is this what people dating do?
You stare at the couch. "well last thing to do is be lazy again"
You dive into the couch, burying your face in the cushion. You turn your head to the side, facing the TV as your eyes flutter closed.
-
"Oi, wake up" You hear echo in your head.
You squint your eyes open, "begone..."
You see a blur of Tsukishima as your eyes try to focus.
"tsuki...shima?" you say as your cheek is squished against the couch.
"Yeah." You sit up as the first year sits next to you.
"Where's Kiyoko?" You rub your eyes.
"She went out grocery shopping" He looks at you.
You check your phone to see its 6:00 pm. You bounce up, "DINNER"
"did you forget and fall asleep?"
You laugh nervously, "Maybe"
Tsukishima sighs and stands up. "Let's go, I'll help you make it"
He walks to the kitchen as you stretch. You turn your attention to him. "Are you coming?"
You smile to yourself. "Mhm"

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
