"We don't any have batons."Oli,one of Kisaki's men, stated and Lucas, his colleague, looked at the baton in his hand.He frowned and looked around the room.
The basement where they held Sanzu captive was dark(obviously).Sanzu was chained up on a wall and,in the dark,on the corner, was a small table full of utensils used to torture the man.
As Lucas was looking around,he narrowed his eyes at the corner where the table was seated, trying to see if there is something or someone there.
"LUCAS,UNDER THE TABLE!"Before the man could even process what was happening,Sasha, who was hiding under that table all along, grabbed both of his legs and crushed him to the ground, making Lucas hit his head on the concrete floor.Blood started pouring from his head as he winced in pain and tried to get up.
Oli,who was shocked, tried to runaway, but when he turned around,he came face to face with you."Ah ah ah!"You shook your head.Oli tried to back away, but Kokonoi blocked his way."There is no way out of this,sweetie..."You said in a cute voice and took a gun with tranquilizer and shot him in the neck, making him collapse on the floor.
Meanwhile,Ran and Rindou tried to get the chains off of Sanzu who was full of blood, scratches, bruises and wounds.
"That fucking hurts,Rindou!"Sanzu growled when Rindou tried to help him up,since he was forced to kneel down throughout all the torture.
"Sorry."He quietly said.
More of Kisaki's men came into the basement, all pointing their guns at you.You scoffed and so did Sasha and Kokonoi.Suddenly, you ran towards the men, taking them by surprise. You and Sasha jumped in the air and spinned, and while doing it,the both of you sliced half of the men's throats;you with a pocket knife and Sasha with a bread knife.Kokonoi took out a gun and shot the other people who were trying to attack Sanzu or the brothers, while you and Sasha continued killing the people from the back.

After it was all done, you wiped your forehead and came towards Sanzu."Oh my macaroni and cheese!"You gasped."Dear god, what happened to you?!"You insepcted Sanzu's wounds. They looked bad.Very bad.
Sanzu on the other hand just chuckled."Y/n dear, don't worry,I am o-"He was cut off by his own cough. He was coughing blood.BLOOD!
You,same as the Haitanis,Kokonoi and Sasha widened your eyes."Hey,Sanzu, stay with me,ok?"His head rested on your lap as he collapsed from exhaustion. You softly caressed his hair and cheek.
He just smiled."You know...I-I thought I would be able to kill all those s-shits."He coughed, but still smiled while looking at you."L-looks like I won't be able t-to-"
"Hey hey hey,Sanzu.Stop talking shit and stop forcing yourself. All you have to do is breathe for me,ok?Thats all I need from you."You tried to talk to him,but he shook his head.
"I-I have a wish,Y/n..."He started."P-please find Sakura f-for me and tell her I-"Another cough."I actually had a crush on her back then."He softly smiled.
"Sanzu, you will tell her that when you will meet her.We need to get you back to a hideout and I will bandage up all of your wound-"
He cut you off."Please just do that f-for me,'kay?"
"Oi,Sanzu!Stop joking around and breathe like Y/n told you to."Ran panickly said when he saw that Sanzu was starting to loose consciousness.
"This isn't good."You mumbled and shook your head."Koko, call Mochi and tell him to prepare me everything that is needed for surgeries.I also need all the things sanitized,we can't risk an infection on him."Kokonoi nodded and took out his phone, dialling Mochi's number."Ran."You looked at the man."Call Mikey and inform him on the situation."

"Yup."
"Rindou,go prepare the cars.I want you to drive me and Sanzu to the closest hide out as fast as possible.Ran,you are coming with us."You looked at the brothers.Ran showed you a thumbs up while talking on the phone with Mikey while Rindou nodded and left."Sasha."You looked at the brunette."You will go with Koko and Takeomi in the car,but before that,do what Kakucho asked you to."She nodded and ran away.
As part of the plan,Kakucho came up with the idea of planting tracking devices on the guards that are currently asleep(Bonten did that apparently...) and also putting cameras and microphones in the building.A good idea indeed.
Since everyone was doing something, you carefully group and placed Sanzu on your back, walking with him to the car where Rindou was waiting for you.Ran opened the door from the backseat for you to put Sanzu there and closed it after you entered, then went in the front and Rindou drove off to the closest hide out.
Your attention was fully on Sanzu now, who, despite being unconscious, was breathing heavily. You looked at all the wounds he had over him.His chest and abdomen was covered in deep cuts and blood. His hands had lots of wounds and his face had bruises all over.
"What did these shits do to you?"You whispered to him.Ran turned and looked at you while Rindou glanced through the rearview mirror. You didn't realise this because you were too concentrated on Sanzu's wounds.
After some minutes you finally arrived at the closest hideout to Kisaki's base.Ran and Rindou quickly got out of the car and opened the back doors. You wanted to lift Sanzu up and go into the house, but Rindou, who was closer to you, placed his hand on yours.
"Brother will take him inside, don't worry."He whispered and smiled a little.Ran lifted Sanzu up and got him out of the car and into the house. You and Rindou went behind him.
I was fidgeting with my hands nervously when I entered the house.I need to calm down or else I won't be able to save Sanzu. He has lost lots of blood and that requires surgery.I also need to see up all the open wounds after I clean them.
It just breaks my heart seeing him like this.
Rindou might have noticed my worry, since he hugged me.I hugged him back."Thank you."I mumbled against him.He caressed my back softly.
Shortly after I backed away from the hug,Ran got out of the room where Sanzu was in,which meant that I must get to work.Mochi followed him and I bowed to him.He bowed back and I attempted to get in,but Ran stopped me.He placed his hand on my arm and made me face him.
"Is gonna be alright.Dont stress yourself,'kay?"He said with a lazy smiled and I nodded.I am pretty sure he saw that I was discouraged and concerned,so he hugged me and kissed my forehead.
"I know you can do it,love.Everything is gonna be alright."

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
