"Out with it."

The two were on Cora's couch, facing each other. Both criss cross with barely any space between them to spare. Knees touching knees with Cora's dagger eyes peircing into Wilbur.

"You have to wait till I finish before you can say anything."

She gives a dead stare. "Take me out to dinner first, damn."

Wilbur smiles even with the situation they are in. "Okay, after I left the cafe, I wandered. I'm not from here, so I just went wherever my feet took me. I kicked a traffic cone on the way and pissed off a construction man, but I didn't get flashed or mugged. I found a sketchy bar. Real sketch. It kind of looked abandoned, but I went in anyways."

"Smart."

Wilbur gives her a look, but continues. "I don't know how long I was there, but I got pissed. Meaning drunk as shit, since I know you are just so american and don't know british terminology." She rolls her eyes, but says nothing, letting him get to the point.

"My phone died. That's why I didn't text back. I didn't have a charger, and didn't have enough energy to find one."

"Why'd you come back?"

"I'd always come back, Cora. But to answer your question, there was a girl. Well, the bartender." Wilbur feels her stiffen. She tries to get up, but he grips both of her thighs to keep her grounded. "Don't jump to conclusions." Cora has a worried glint in her eyes, but gives a curt nod, crossing her arms over her stomach.

"I'm not even sure how long I talked to her, but I know it was only about you. Our argument, how out of line I was, how we met, how quickly I fell in love with you." Cora doesn't budge from her dull expression so he carries on.

"She gave me a refill and kept her hand on mine. Caressing and shit like that."

"Can you just get to the fucking point, please?"

"Let me tell you, I almost threw up on her. Truly the most disgusted I've ever felt. It dawned on me that this girl could have been anyone. Like, I don't know how to explain it. I wasn't seeking for someone to be on my side, to comfort me, or for sex. I just needed to think out loud and she was just standing by me."

"I immediately got up, asked for a charger and went to the farthest booth away from her. When it finally turned on, by my telepathic powers by the way, I got your text messages. And holy fuck, it broke me."

Cora tilts her head to the side, biting her lower lip hard enough to draw blood. Wilbur notices and realizes he needs to finish the damn story.

"As soon as my phone had enough power, I left the bar and came to the apartment. Seeing you here, with credits rolling on the screen and you cuddled up on the couch killed me. Absolutely murdered me, Cora. I'm so sorry. For everything I said yesterday. For leaving you without letting you know where I was. For making you doubt me and our relationship. The fact that you think I would ever cheat on you shows me how little you know how much I'm in love with you. And it made me realize that I don't care where I am or where you are and that I'll always come back to you. Like you've ruined me in the best way possible. It's not an excuse and I'm so sorry for putting you through all this." Wilbur takes a breath like he hasn't breathed in the last 30 seconds. He peeks at Cora's face, waiting for her reaction to come. A slap, a kiss, a breakup.

"You are a fucking dumbass."

'Great' Wilbur thought. He's ruined this. He's a horrible boyfriend, friend, and he doesn't deserve her-

His thoughts are cut short by the grip of Cora's hand on his t-shirt and her lips brushing against his. "Don't do that again, okay?" A short kiss, but the feeling of it took every breath out of Wilbur. "If we have a argument, don't be a goddamn coward and stay to hash it out." He nods obediently and drags her enough to have her straddle him. Wilbur kisses her like he hasn't seen her in years, and she does the same. Cora wraps her long fingers around his neck and presses her fingertips into his skin. "Never ever again." He agrees, wrapping his arms around her waist, trying to pull her closer.

She pulls back, pats him on the cheek and wiggles out of his hold. "Good. Now I'm going to shower and you are going to take me to a fucking apology dinner."

Wilbur's wide eyed and fully hard, but he nods immediately. "Yes m'am." She smiles her perfect smile and walks away, swaying her hips, knowing he's watching. Wilbur is wrapped around her damn finger.
