They decided to eat a small diner a block away from their apartment. The four were sat at a small booth in the corner, Wilbur sat across from Cora while Schlatt sat across from Eden. It felt like a double date in the most disturbing way possible.

Wilbur didn't seem to mind, staring right at Cora while stuffing his face with a chocolate pancake. Cora eyed both of them, suspicion rising to the surface while she sipped her black coffee. She peeked at Wilbur, seeing his intense look and mouthed "Stop." He smiled and looked away, gulping down his chocolate milk like a little kid.

"Are you drinking black coffee? That's disgusting, unspeakable, it's making me want to barf. No one will ever love you."

"Schlatt!" Eden snapped at him while Cora hit him in the shoulder. "I'm loveable."

"Hell yea she is." She looked to Wilbur, admiring the new grin plastered on his face. "Stop" He mouthed, mimicking her. She kicked his shin and faced back to Schlatt.

"You eat ketchup with your eggs. You're the unloveable one."

"Hey! I eat-"

"Not now, Wil."

"I'm so not unloveable. Talk to Wilbur or Weston or even Eden." Cora looked to Eden, hoping she would spill the beans.

She knew what was happening with Eden and Schlatt, but she wasn't going to push it. "No, I agree with Cora, gun guy. I would rather drink black coffee then kiss you." Well no one mentioned kissing.

Schlatt smiled at her, taking a big bite of his bloodied eggs. "That is not what you said last ni-"

"Anyways!!!! What did you guys do last night? We left before Wilbur got here and we definitely didn't stay to have a one on one with your parents, no offense"

"Trust me, none taken. We had alot sex."

Wilbur choked on his food while Schlatt started to laugh a little too hard. "Is that what that was? God, we came home a little late and I decided to not barge in because I thought you guys just finished a movie."

Oh I get it. White people clap after the movie ends. The disturbing joke has layers, She'll give him that.

"Schlatt ew, that was bad, even for you." He put his hands up in surrender, finishing off his last last peice of bacon and pushed his plate aside.

"Okay, I'm ready to go."

Cora looked down to her uneaten food and peered back up at him. "Bye?" He shrugged, motioning for Eden to get up, which she did and they left. Fucking odd.

"Okay, they are definitely fucking, right?"

"We're fucking."

"Wilbur. You're clingier than usual today. I'm trying to make a point here." She said, finally cutting into her waffle.

"This morning they were all touchy feely. There's something going on there. I mean it happens all the time. I third wheel too much, unless you're here. Which isn't often."

"Lmao true, you should move to Brighton with me." Cora stopped mid bite, looking up to Wilbur. He had no jokingly facial expression. "Did you say 'lmao' out loud. I think i'm starting to grow on you."

"Yeah we both know that you've already grown on me. I'm being serious Cor. The process to get a visa takes up to 3-12 weeks. It doesn't have to be soon. I'm just saying it's an option." He said, patting his mouth with the napkin laying in his lap.

"Are you asking me to move in with you? Uhhh Kachow? Get it, lightning mcqueen?"

"I'm not technically asking you to move in with me. Like I said, it doesn't have to be soon. You can't stay with them forever, though. I'm your boyfriend, I should be an option." He said, ignoring her poor joke.

"I'm not saying that. We've known each other for almost a year and you're asking me to move in with you?"

"Don't put it that way. I told you last night. I'm in love with you. I don't wanna put you in a weird spot if you don't reciprocate the feelings, but I think you're it for me. So I'm not pushing you to give me an answer to a question I'm not necessarily asking. Again, it's just an option I'm putting out there."

"Okay well don't say that 'if you don't reciprocate the feelings' bullshit. You know I do, it's just hard to express it. We're so young, Wil. I'm trying to not get too attached unless you find someone better. We all know there's someone out there that's better for you than me." She finished, pushing her plate aside, her appetite slowly withering away. Wilbur scoffed at this answer and leaned in.

"I disagree. I don't think there is anyone else for me. I don't care if it's quick, I'm calling out my gut feeling. Who cares if we're young."

"I'm not trying to cause a problem. I'm trying to protect myself from getting hurt. Everyone walks out on me and nothings stopping you from doing the same."

"Protect yourself from me? I literally shattered my skinny arm because some asshole touched you. I'm here because you're horrible excuse of parents showed up out of nowhere. I flew 11 hours here the only reason being you stopped talking to me because of a misunderstanding. You don't need to protect yourself from me. I'm no threat. I'm not planning to abandon you."

"I know you're not. This is all coming out wrong. I just think I have trust issues."

He scoffed again. "Think? I have done nothing to betray your trust. Listen, forget I said anything about anything. Don't move to Brighton, I couldn't care less. I'm gonna go." He dropped his fork onto his plate and stood up, grabbing his jacket and took off through the diner door.

"What are you gonna go do? Fucking write a song about me?" She grunted, the slight irritation bubbling up in side of her.

Okay, what the fuck just happened? He's being over dramatic right? What a good first fight.

The waitress walked up to her now empty table, and carefully set the check down on the table. "This is why I hate british people. So loud and talking weird with their dumb accents." she muttered, patting Cora on the head.

Cora let out a little awkward laugh, taking money out of her pocket and placing it on the table. "Keep the change." Cora said, standing up and leaving her half eaten waffle and a conversation she wished she never had.

...

When she got to her apartment, no one was there. She'd atleast expected Wilbur to be there since he didn't know his way around the city yet, but to her surprise he'd vanished.

She pulled out her phone and sent him a quick text.

i know you're mad, but don't do anything stupid. nyc is fucking dangerous and annoying so yeah. lmk if you're coming home or not because i need to text my side hoe if he can come over or not.

okay bad joke, yeah not very good

timing, but i was joking. i um love you.

don't cheat on me please

She closed out her phone and threw it onto the sofa. She quickly changed into the t-shirt she wore this morning and grabbed many blankets, deciding to have a movie marathon of her confort movies while waiting for someone to come home.

Cora started to watch Coraline with popcorn in hand and with the lights off. The second movie was 10 Things I Hate About You, which is basic, but a classic. The third was Lady Bird, which Cora based her whole personality off of one summer. The fourth was Call Me By Your Name which had her crying by the end. The 5th movie was the first Twilight which she could still watch over and over without getting tired. The 6th and final movie she had put on was her all time favorite, Perks of Being a Wallflower. She eventually nodded off through it, somehow exhausted from sitting on the sofa for a little more than 9 hours.

She was awoken with weight on her body, pushing her down into the couch. She squinted her eyes on the rolling credits of the movies and tried to sit up, but she couldn't budge.

She looked down to see Wilbur clinging on to her like no other. "Wil?" He said nothing, probably asleep due to his steady breathing. "Wilbur?" She whispered louder which in response he snuggled more into her, death gripping her waist.

"I'm sorry. Forget everything I said. I love you."

The fact he sounded like he was on the verge of crying made Cora more awake than ever. She pushed him off of her, so she could sit up to examine him. The light from the tv illuminated his tired filled face. She grabbed his face with both of her hands and tilted it so she could search him better.

"I feel like you cheated on me." He widened his eyes, putting his hands over hers.

"No, god no. I'm just a tiny tipsy and I get clingy when I'm drunk and I missed you and your touch and you're pretty and funny and mean and you're really good at sex. So can we forget everything until tomorrow and let's sleep because you smell good and I love you. I don't care about anything else right now."

"Okay."

He sighed out in relief, going back into the position they were in before and did what he said he would do, he fell straight asleep with his lips settled in the crook of her neck.
