"Alright, so maybe it was a lose-lose-win situation? I'm going to let myself out." Eden said, pushing Cora towards the boy in front of her and did as she said, showing herself out.
"What are you doing here-" Cora got interrupted by Wilbur gathering her in a bone crushing hug. Her arms laid limp by her sides, not knowing what to do. Wilbur didn't let go, he hadn't seen her in a week and needed her in his arms. She eventually gave in, missing his warmth and circled her arms around his neck, pulling him as close as she could.
When they finally untangled themselves, Wilbur was the first to speak, pacing around the apartment. "Cora, what in your right mind did you think it was a good idea to block me? Cut me out? Did you think I wasn't going to come down here? Come talk to you? You're a literal idio-"
This time Cora cut him off by running up to him and grabbing his face, crushing her lips against his. She only did this because she was afraid it might be the last time. He was here, meaning she would have to eventually tell him.
He immediately replied, grabbing both sides of her face and pushing her up against the apartment door. The kiss was rough, but gentle at the same time. Wilbur was angry, but missed everything about her, savoring the feeling of her close.
Cora pulled away, an attempt to take a needed breath before pecking his lips again. "I'm sorry." She breathed out, tracing his olive skinned face.
He removed himself from her and started to pace again. "What do you have to be sorry about? You did nothing wrong. It was me, it was all me."
She sighed, going to sit on the sofa while he had a panic attack in front of her.
"I don't understand what went so wrong. Why'd you leave? Why didn't you answer any of my texts? I mean I understand why you left, but why couldnt you just talk to me?"
"Wilbur"
"It didn't have to go so far. I literally haven't been able to do anything. I'm one stress filled son of a bitch."
"Wilbur."
"What happened? Just tell me what's wrong?"
"Wilbur! Sit down before you have a heart attack. Just because you have a receding hairline does not mean your old enough to have a heart attack."
Wilbur gave her a blank and humorless stare, sitting down beside her.
Cora sat criss cross on the sofa and faced him, taking a deep breath. "Alright, I have to tell you something." He mimicked the girl, sitting criss cross and facing her.
Wilbur looked into her broken up eyes, now scared of what she was about to say. He tucked a piece her hair behind her ear and tenderly grazed the under her eyes with the pad of his thumb, trying to comfort her.
She took another deep breath and spoke. "When I texted you back, I was at a bar with, um, Jared. I felt numb with what I thought had happened. I wanted to feel something, even if it had to happen with me drunk. Which makes me sound like I'm in tenth grade because it's not like you slept with her or anything. So, honestly I was just being over dramatic at the time. Anyways, I could barely stand or think, but I could dance. And I did. Eden, the girl I just walked in with, she saw it. Eventually Jared started to dance with me, I think. I thought it was you and- Wil, I'm so sorry."

Wilbur took her hand and kissed her knuckles, trying to calm her down. You could see Cora swollen eyes and puffy cheeks.
"He kissed me. Again, I thought it was you so I led him on, but I obviously figured out it wasn't you and pushed him away. It's my fault. He said I dressed inappropriately and I was engaging in it. God, I'm so sorry. I came straight home and baricaded myself in. And I blocked you because you didn't deserve that, Wil. You don't deserve any of that. I was so upset at you for what happened with Niki which didn't actually happen. So, it all got fucked up." Wilbur said nothing, tracing small circles onto her skin with one hand and fiddling with her fingers with the other.
"You're kidding me, right?"
Oh, god. Here it is, the big blow up. How Cora's the hypocrite, how much of an idiot she is, it's all coming out at once. "I'm so sorr-"
"Where the fuck is he?" Wilbur said, alarmingly calm, still comforting the girl.
"Wait what?"
"Where the fuck is he? Jared? You think I'm okay with him taking advantage of you? Yeah, I'm going to beat the shit out of him." If this was a cartoon, you would be able to see the steam blowing out of his ears.
Cora took his wrist in her hand and waved it front of his face. "I could break you like a stick Wil, I don't think you could beat him up, but thanks for the effort, I guess?" Wilbur rolled his eyes, ripping his hand out of her grip.
"Wait, you aren't mad at me?"
"Cora, my love. Idiot, but my love, of course I'm not mad at you. Is this what everything was about? You think I would be mad at you for being assulted by someone you trusted? It's not your fault. I always had a bad feeling about him." Cora shrugged, dusting a piece of hair out of his face. "I was just expecting it. You sound like my dad btw, which is not good because of my intense daddy issues."
He took ahold of her hand that was in front of his face and kissed her palm. "Cora, shut up. Anyways, I'm not. Never would I be mad at that."
"You're kinda gross. Well, cheesy is a better word."
" I really don't care." He started to gently kiss up her arm, making a shoot of nerves travel up her spine.
"I'm sorry about believing Niki and not trusting you. I just, the way you too look at each other, it just eats at me."
"How dumb are you?"
"Hey fuck you. You know I punched Jared and I can punch you too."
The 'L word' was on the tip of both of their tongues, but they didn't want to scare each other away, Wilbur was afraid he would lose her again while Cora felt like she could mess up any second. It was too early.
"Well, I'm proud. He really deserves to have his ass kicked."
"Stop, my praising kink is going to come out." He let out a small laugh, fiddling with a strand of her hair. He felt the need to touch her, especially now.

"And about Niki, that's literally never happening. It never was going to happen. I'm sorry I made you doubt so much. I only want you. And I want you, like, really badly." He finished his sentence off with yet another peck on her lips. He missed her lips, how they perfectly fit with his. Cora made a gagging sound.
"This is like super cringe, but I'm touch starved, so I guess I'll let it slide, whore."
"Fine, I kinda missed you, bitch. And you're only a little bearable to be around"
"Ah much bette-"
The front swung open making the two look over their shoulders to see Jared, holding flowers and a teddy bear.
"Cora!?" He yelled, not realizing she was on the couch, in front of him. Wilbur started to get up, but was stopped, being pulled down by Cora.
"Look, can we pretend we aren't here? I really don't want to see him. Pretty please?" Wilbur hesitantly nodded, bending back onto the couch. They both ducked down in hopes Jared wouldn't see.
"Thank you for unlocking the damn door. Why'd you even do that? I know I messed up, but I was literally homeless for a week. That was a bitch move."
Wilbur tightened his fists, while Cora physically had to hold him down. Cora honestly didn't care.
"Cora?"
"I'm going." Wilbur whispered. "No, no, please." She whispered back, only gaining the attention of the elephant in the room.
"Cora? What are you doing?"
She was caught.
Cora hopped up from in front of the couch while keeping a knee on Wilbur. "Hey."
"What were you doing?"
"Looking for the remote." Cora waved her hand which Wilbur responded, putting the small remote in her hand. She waved it in front of her, showing she wasn't lying. He nodded, retreating back to get his lousy presents, and walking back to her.
"Listen, I'm really sorry for what happened. I didn't mean anything by it. I know you aren't ready after that douche, but I'll wait. Of course I'll wait. So, I'm sorry." Jared said with sincere eyes, presenting his half hearted present.
Cora pursed her lips and almost laughed at the boy in front of her. She was frustrated, but also found it funny how stupid he is.
"I'm not sure you understand. I don't like you. I love you as a friend, but that's all this is. I've never liked you that way. I don't mean to be harsh, but apparently you're too stupid to get it through your head. You've assulted me more then I can coun-"
"Are you fucking kidding me, Cora? I've assulted you? Please." He set the present down and started to wave his hands around, about to deny everything. Cora knew he was about to lie through his teeth, he's always done this when he doesn't get what he wants. He was a privileged white kid with money from his daddy.
"I kissed you a couple times because you wanted it, not me. You think you're all that, when literally no one wants you. You're parents didn't want you and a famous person didn't want you. I only try to get with you because I'm bored, but It's a waste of time, I never noticed how boring you really are. "
Cora felt her leg lift up, alerting her it was time for Wilbur to get up, but she pushed him back down, knowing it was only going to add fuel to the fire.
"That's cool and all, I just need you to stop 'trying to get with me' because I really couldn't care less."
"Really? You couldn't care less? Why'd you lock yourself in this damn apartment all week? Did you starve yourself, only go to the bathroom when it was too hard too handle, stay in bed unless it was to let Netflix know you were still watching. You're pathetic and sad."
Jared's words did zero damage to Cora. She knew all this already and had no patience to be told it.
"Lookey here you pea brained son of a bitch. You and you're micro penis that's begging to be sucked, can get the fuck out of here. I will kick your dick until you can't have children. Oh wait, I forgot. You're cousin called, she has a 4 year old son and it's yours. Congrats!!"
Jared didn't move, he only had a forced smirk on his face. "Alright, you wanna talk shit? You think I assulted you? You wanna see what real assult looks like, whore?"
"Woah, buckeroo-" Wilbur grabbed Cora's foot and yanked her, making her fall to her side.
He finally stood up, immediately throwing a punch to Jared's nose. He blanked out, surprised to see another person here and stumbled across the room. Wilbur grunted, holding his knuckles.
"I fucking told you, ya twig."
Wilbur didn't listen, and walked from behind the couch, to Jared. He didn't hesitate to punch again. And again, and again, and again, and again.
Wilbur woke up and chose violence, today.
Cora watched in awe, hating that this moment, was the most she's been attracted to Wilbur. She has some serious problems.
Cora yelled Wilbur's name a couple times and tried to pull him off of Jared, but gave up after the boy showed no sign of stopping.
She sighed when she saw neighbours gathering around her front door, looking in.
A lady watched in horror with her kids beside her and pulled out her phone, calling a simple 3 number phone.
Ah fuck.
