Wilbur waited patiently, tapping his foot anxiously until the girl answered.

"Hey loser. Act like you're talking to me."

He scrunched up his face, but did as he was told. "I'll just actually talk to you? Why'd you need me to ft?"

The girl had her black headphones plugged in her ears, just getting out of her class and walking through the crowded new york sidewalks. "Do you not want to talk to me?" She said, a small smile playing on her lips.

Wilbur shook his head immediately, laughing at her accusation. "That's not want I meant." Then he was hit with the realization. "Oh my god, did you ft me, so no one would come up and talk to you."

She dead-panned and scoffed. "What? No? That's ridiculous."

Wilbur set his phone phone against his monitor, propping his elbow up on the table and placing his head in his hands, staring at the girl apprehensively rushing around people.

"You know something?" Wilbur nodded as a response, anticipating what she was going to say, something he was doing often. "I was in class and the boy next to me started to sing your song. Like out loud. I told him I knew you, but he ended up not believing me, calling me a bitch and a liar. So, I'm forcing you to ft me the next time I have this class."

Wilbur chuckled, examining her frustrated face as she walked to wherever she lived.

He noticed she had a small birth mark that kissed one of her eyelids and smile wrinkles surrounding her mouth. He even made out the tiny freckles peppering across her nose.

The girl entered her empty apartment, setting down her heavy shit on the sofa and tiptoed to her bedroom. "Okay, you can go if you'd like."

Wilbur shook out of his trance, noticing she was now home and spoke before she could end the call. "I'm okay." She shrugged and set the phone on her bedside table, facing it to the ceiling and walked to her closet, changing into more comfy clothes.

"MILDRED!!"

The girl rushed to the phone, now in baggy sweatpants and a crewneck. "Yes, Wil?" He took his phone off his monitor and hopped onto his bed, ready to ask his question. "I feel like I have right to know your name."

"We're really on this again?" Wilbur flipped around on his stomach, death glaring into the phone. "Yes, come on." She rolled her eyes and sat on her bed.

"Fine, you promise you won't stalk me, kidnap me, or murder me? Because that's only reserved for Dylan." Wilbur lifted his pinky to the camera, smiling like a child. "Pinky promise."

The girl rolled her eyes, but the corners of her mouth were lifted. "It's Cora, okay?" Wilbur beamed, a proud gleam in his eyes. "Cora? It's charming." Now that he looks at her, it seems to fit so well.

Cora's eyes began to get heavy, closing longer then she wanted them to. "I think I'm gonna take a nap, Wil. Wake me up in an hour or two?" Wilbur nodded still smiling and not ending the call. Cora furrowed her eyebrows, smiling confusingly. "Okay, bye?"

Wilbur's face dropped, waving his hand as a no. "Let's just stay on call, it's easier that way." Cora wanted to ask how it was meant to be easier, but she decided against, just nodding, still puzzled. She awkwardly set the phone beside her pillow and laid against it, falling asleep almost immediately.

Wilbur listened to Cora's breathing as it became even and tiny breaths that could barely be heard. It calmed him, giving him a sense of peace. He took a deep breath and listened carefully, accidentally falling asleep on his own.
