《Please...》Chapter Twenty Three

"Daddy, no!" Harry exclaimed. "Don't wanna!"
"Why not, Harry? You seemed to like Draco last time," Severus said. He had just told Harry that Draco would be coming over for a few hours that day, and Harry did not seem to like the idea.
"Just don't wanna! I-I just want Daddy an' Pappy!"
Severus kneeled in front of Harry. "Stop yelling. Remember? Instead of yelling, we talk," he said.
"S-Sorry... I didn'..." Harry stuttered out, fear in his voice.
"It's alright, bambi. I know you don't try to. So, why don't you want Draco to come over?"
"B-Because you wanna 'place me with Draco!" Harry cried. "Y-You don' want me!"
"Oh, Harry. Is that really what you think?" Severus asked in disbelief.
Harry nodded. "W-Why else w-would Draco come!?"
Severus moved from his kneeling position, sat in the armchair behind him, and reached down and lifted Harry from the floor to sit on his lap. He started bouncing his knee as he spoke. "I want Draco to come over so you have someone to play with. Someone your age. I could never replace you, bambi."
"B-But-"
"No, listen. I will never replace you. It is impossible for me to replace you. I love you too much. You're my son, Harry. My bambi."
"B-But... But..."
"I promise, Hare. You are my son. I can not replace you, alright? I will never be able to replace you, and I would never want to, anyway."
"P-Promise!?"
Severus nodded. "I promise. Now, come here. You need a hug."
Harry rested his head against Severus' chest as the man tightly hugged him. "S-Sorry, Daddy... I-I... I don't wan' you to replace me..."
"It's okay, Harry, but I want you to listen to me, alright?" Harry nodded. "Draco is my godson. So I'm... I'm important to him, but I'm not his dad. I love him and I love you. And I will always love both of you, okay?"
"Forever?"
"Yes, bambi. Forever and ever." Severus kissed Harry's messy black curls and started rubbing the boy's back to soothe him.
"S-Sorry..."
"Oh, there is no need to be sorry. I should have asked if I could invite Draco over for the day. Do you want a day with Remus instead?"
Harry debated his options. On one hand, he could spend an entire day with Pappy! But on the other hand, he could play with Draco... who liked snakes and dragons and lions!
"Umm... I dunno..."
"Whichever one you want is okay, Harry," Severus pushed.
"I... I think Draco sounds... fun?"
"Is that a question, or your answer?"
"Answer..."
"Alright. Draco and Narcissa should be here in about an hour. Why don't you go get dressed, and then you and Remus can read for a bit."
"Where are you going?"
"I have to teach today, Hare. But Remus will be here all day, alright?"
Harry's lower lip quivered. "B-But... But I... You... You're leaving!?"
"No, no, not at all!" Severus exclaimed. "You can play with Draco for a bit, and then come down to my classroom, 'kay?"
"How long!?"
"Around two hours, honey. And you'll have Remus here, right? You'll be okay."
Harry shook his head. He didn't want the playdate anymore. "No."
"Harry, honey, please?"
Harry shook his head again. "No."
"What if we make a deal, huh?" Severus suggested. "What if, you do the playdate, tomorrow, you and I will have a day together? Just the two of us, unless you want Remus to come along. All day, just us. Could we do that?"

"D-Don't you gots to teach t'morrow?"
"Tomorrow? No, tomorrows Saturday. I don't have to teach. We could go sledding, see a movie, maybe try out a new cafe or restaurant? Maybe even look around a toy store for a bit?"
"J-Just us?"
"If that's what you want. I'm not promising that you'll get toys if we go, though, okay?"
"Uh-huh. Pappy comes, too?"
"If you want him to and he doesn't have anything to do. So, can we try the playdate? Draco's mother is home all day today, if we really needed to we could end it early."
Harry nodded. "'S long as Pappy stays and I-I can have Lily and Batty," he said quietly.
Severus kissed the boy's hair. "Of course. Draco will probably bring his own stuffie as well."
"Okay... I'll try. Love you, Daddy."
"I love you, too, my sweet boy. Now, why don't you go wake Pappy, and I'll set the table. How about chocolate chip waffles today?"
"Really!?"
"Sure. It's a big day! Your first playdate, you need some good food! Now go on and wake up Pappy, and I'll get started on breakfast."
"Can I dump in the coco chips!?!" Harry exclaimed.
"Of course."
Harry jumped off Severus' lap and ran down the hall, shouting 'YAY!!!' as he did so.
Severus let out a sigh and began to set the table. That was harder than he thought it was going to be.
Hopefully the playdate turned out okay.

Harry hid behind Remus' leg as Draco walked closer. He peeked out, and saw the blond smiling back and waving.
Soon Draco's mother left, leaving the three in the sitting room. "Alright, kids, what should we do? Or what do you two want to do?" Remus asked.
"Games!" was Draco's immediate answer.
"Games are okay..." Harry agreed.
"Alright, a game it is. Harry, why don't you go show Draco all of our games?" Remus suggested.
"O-Okay... It's o-over here." Harry led him to the bin where they stored the games, and the two went through them.
"What's Uh-noo?" Draco asked when Harry held the red box.
"A card game. A Muggle one," Harry replied. "And... Uh, it's called Uno, not Uh-noo. Do you... want to play that one?"
"Sure!"
The two sat on the floor in the sitting room, Lily carefully tucked under Harry's arm. Once they got started playing, Harry thought the playdate might not be so bad after all...
"I win!" Draco exclaimed for the second time in a row.
"Pappy, Draco beated me again!" Harry said in response.
"He did, did he?" Remus said from his spot on the sofa where he was reading a book. He had another migraine, but those usually came at this time of the month...
"I'm gettin' tired of Uno," Draco mumbled. Harry shrugged in agreement. They had been playing Uno for almost an hour, and even though it was quite fun, it did get a bit boring after a while.
"Hmm..." Harry thought for a moment. "I... I have a train set... We could play with it in my room!"
"You have a t'ain set!?"
"Yeah..."
"That's awesome!"
"Let's go!"
The two quickly cleaned up the cards, put them away, and started to run to Harry's room.
"Harry!" Remus said before they got to the hallway, cringing at how loud his voice was.
"Y-Yeah...?"
"Just make sure you only take out one toy at a time alright?"

"Okay!"
They both sat on the floor and began to set up the tracks all over the floor, going under the desk.
"Can I ask a question?" Draco asked. Harry nodded, and continued putting pieces together. "Why'e you with Uncle Sev now?"
"Oh... uh... I was with mean people befo'e... So Daddy took me 'way from them."
"Oh. Well... Since he's my godfathe', does that mean you' my godb'other?"
"Huh... Uh... I dunno, maybe?"
"Wouldn' that be kinda neat!"
"Maybe..."
"We got the tracks done!" Draco exclaimed. "Under the bed an' the chair!"
"Put the t'ain on!!" Harry said. He set Lily in his lap to watch the train. "Wait!" he ran into the hallway. "Pappy! Come look at what me and Dray did!! C'mon, c'mon!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" he heard from the sitting room. Soon Remus was in the hall, and Harry took his hand and dragged him into his room. They both sat on the floor.
"Ready?" Draco asked.
"Yeah!" Harry responded with joy.
The blond child turned it on, causing the train to move along the tracks.
"We got it under the bed and the desk this time, Pappy!!"
"Good job, boys!" Remus said.
"Dray, c'mere and do this!" Carefully, Harry stepped over the train tracks and sat in the middle of it. Draco copied. The two spun around, still sitting, making sure they were always watching the train, until they collapsed into a fit of giggle.
Remus shut off the train once he heard the fire go. "Draco, that's probably your mum," he said.
"Aww..." Draco groaned.
"Aww..." Harry copied.
"Come along, boys. We can set up for another playdate soon. How about next time we play outside, yeah? Go sledding and build forts and have fun hot chocolate?"
"Okay..." the two agreed simultaneously. They slowly walked to the sitting room, where Mrs. Malfoy was waiting patiently.
"Little dragon!" Mrs. Malfoy said when Draco ran and hugged her. "Did you have a good time?"
Draco nodded. "Yes, Mummy! Me an' Harry built a t'ain track and he teached me a new game to play an' I won two times!!"
"Did you now? And what game was it?"
"A Muggle one! Called Uno!!"
"Well, it sounds like the two of you had a blast!" she said. She turned to Remus. "Thank you so much for having Draco over today. He's been wanting a playdate with Harry since they met at the ice cream shop."
"It's no problem, really. Harry... Oh, come here, you silly boy." Remus picked Harry up off the floor, where he was hiding behind Remus' legs, and rested him on his hip. "Thank you for letting Draco come over Mrs. Malfoy."
"Call me Narcissa, really. Harry may call me Cissy if that is any easier."
"Thanks fo' lettin' Dray come over, Cissy," Harry said quietly. He gave her a small smile.
"I hope you two become great friends-"
"We a'e friends, right Harry!?" Draco interrupted.
"Yeah!" Harry agreed.
"See, Mummy! We al'eady are g'eat friends!"
"Well, that is really wonderful, dear. I apologize, but I do have some errands I need to finish before it gets too late, and he has some books he needs to return to the library..."
Draco gasped at this like it was the most horrible thing in the world. "Not the books!" he exclaimed.
"Oh, you will be alright. We can always go check them out again. Now, say goodbye to Harry. We have to go."
Draco smiled a toothy grin. "Buh-bye Harry!"
"Bye-bye, Dray."
The two disappeared into the green fire, leaving Remus and Harry alone once more.
"How was that?" Remus asked. "Better than you thought it would be?"
"Yeah, Pappy. But..." he was cut off by a yawn. "I'm tired."
"Want to go take a nap? I could use one as well."
"In Daddy's room?"
Remus shook his head. "No, cub. We'd have to go to my quarters if you want to sleep with me."
"Why?"
"Because. I'm not allowed in his room unless he's home. It's one of our rules."
"Okay... But what if Daddy comes back an' we're missing!?"
Remus chuckled a bit. "I'll leave him a note on the table, okay? A big one with big letters so he doesn't miss it."
"Okay... 'M tired, Pappy."
"Okay, cub. Let me write this note for him, and then we can go take our nap."
Harry tightened his hold on Lily as he let out another yawn. "Love you, Pappy."
"I love you, too, Harry."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey... Remus..."
Remus groaned in his sleep, refusing to open his eyes and see who was there. That would require turning over, and he was just too comfy lying on his stomach with his face in the pillow.
"Remus, baby, wake up."
With that he knew it was Severus there, so he simply turned his head a smidge and opened one eye. "Sev...?" he grumbled out.
"Yeah. Just thought I should wake you so you don't stay up all night tonight... especially since tonight's... you know..."
"Oh, shit..." Remus muttered. He noticed his pounding headache once he pushed himself to a sitting position. "Wha' time is it?"
"Almost one. I've made us all some lunch, if you're hungry?" Severus offered.
"Sure, let me wake-"
"No need, I brought it with. Harry fell back asleep a few minutes before I decided to wake you, so he already ate," Severus said as he handed the werewolf a bowl full of tomato soup and a spoon. "Would've made grilled cheese but I probably would've burned it..."
"'S fine..."
"So, Rem... I was thinking..." Severus fiddled with his thumbs as he tried to form the sentence. "I... I don't... Want... It's winter and I know you can handle it in your other form but when you're a human in the morning and at night it's just to cold I mean last time you were near freezing..." Severus spit out in one breath.
"You don't want me to go to the shack anymore?" Remus asked in disbelief. "Severus, that's the only thing that keeps me from hurting anyone! What if I bit someone!"
"But you won't! You have your potion, you've been taking it because I've been making it!" Severus said. "Please!? What if you get frostbite!? Or what if you get sick!?"
"Sev... I... I don't know. I don't want to take any risks..."
"You being out there all night is a risk! A huge risk!"
"Okay, Severus. I'll stay inside this time. But in my own quarters, and you are not to come in here unless it's an emergency, alright?"
"Thank you!"
"So..." Remus started talking in between bites. "Why aren't you in class? ...Isn't there one right now?"
"A second year pretty much destroyed all of the work desks. Made some concoction... Wasn't her fault, someone put a firework in her damn cauldron, so classes are cancelled for Potions until someone can figure out how the hell to get it off of everything."
"Damn... Teenagers are just mean," Remus said. "So mean."
"No shit Sherlock."
"Cheeky little prat."
"Yes, but I'm your cheeky little prat."
Remus nodded, because he knew that was the truth.
"Love you..." Severus said quietly. He brushed some hair out of Remus' face gently.
"Love you, too, cheeky prat..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remus put his bookmark in. Harry was playing with his animals in front of him, making a play of some sort for himself.
"Severus, I should be-" his voice was cut off by a small cry off pain.
He was too late.
He was about to transform in front of his son.
"Harry!" he heard Severus shout. "Come here!"
In the background he heard Severus explain to Harry that he had to go wait in his room for a minute and why, but he was more focused on how bloody terrible it hurt.
More small cries and screams escaped his lips until finally, after what seemed like weeks, it stopped.
He had transformed.
In his boyfriend's sitting room.
And almost in front of his son.
"Oh, Remus," Severus said. "I... Why don't you just stay here tonight?"
Remus glared at him as best he could.
"Oh. don't look at me like that. You took your potion, you aren't dangerous, and we all know Harry wanted you to stay over again. It'll be fine. You can sleep in here, I'll pile up a ton of blankets and pillows and make it really comfy!"
Remus rolled his eyes, but nodded his head anyway.
He knew both Harry and Severus would never let him leave, and fighting would only make things worse.
"Harry!" Severus called as he waved his wand in many patterns, causing pillows and blankets to make a nest shaped bed on the floor in front of the fireplace. "You may come out now."
Harry did so, and he had a small smile when he saw Remus. "Doggy!" he exclaimed. "Bu'... where's Pappy!? Pappy!? Pappy!!"
"Harry, honey, the doggy is Pappy. Remember, once a month..."
"Oh... Oh!" Harry said once he understood. "Sleep with Pappy t'night so he don't get cold or scared!"
"Only if Pappu says it's okay. So go ask Pappy really quick."
Harry walked over to the werewolf. "Pappy, can I pretty please sleep with you tonight! Then you won' be alone! And then Daddy can sleep he'e too, so none of us are alone!"
Remus glared even harder at Severus, but nodded nonetheless.
There was no getting out of this. He knew not to fight in battle's he'd never win.
"Well, bambi, let's have an early night, okay?" Severus said. "Why don't we all get situated."
Getting situated turned out to just be Remus lying in the 'nest', Harry against his chest, Severus on the other side of Harry, and Remus' long, fluffy tail curling around his small family.
Harry went to sleep almost instantly, probably because of how warm and fluffy Remus now was.
"I love you, Remus. And that means the wolf, too," Severus whispered. He pressed a kiss to Remus' furry forehead and looked at his family with love.
His family.
A family he belonged to, a family he was a part of, a family he would have forever and love forever and ever.
It was the only thing he ever wanted and he had it.
He fell asleep soon after, arm wrapped around Harry, other hand softly petting Remus' fur.
