《A Little Good Influence | Max Thunderman x Reader》Epilogue Pt. 2

You rummaged through the duffle you had packed, trying to go through a mental check list and make sure that you had packed everything that you would need. Although you did have the feeling that you were forgetting something; you just couldn't put a finger on what.

"Okay, I think I have everything ready. Am I forgetting something?" You called, zipping the bag shut and looking at your reflection in the mirror once again. Luckily, your hair didn't do that thing it usually did, where if you stepped away from the mirror for one second, it got completely messed up.

You heard soft footsteps of Max's sneakers before he appeared at the top of the staircase with both his hands full, "Um, your children?"

The twins were the most unexpected and the best part of your life. And that was quite a feat considering you found out you were a superhero at the age of 17. You and your husband, Max, really did think they were going to be non-supes, considering you went through a regular pregnancy and that they didn't have any super growth spurts.

That relieved you to no end because you were only 22 when they were born, and you did not want to be 22 with 10-year-old children. But they did begin to develop powers around a year and a half after being born and thankfully you had retained your powers as well. Now, Iris and Everleigh were a little older than 2 years and you loved them more than you could express.

You spared him a teasing smile, "No, that's not it."

He rolled his eyes and made his way down the stairs, handing you one of the twins and you smiled when you realized they were both already dressed, "Oh, thank you for getting them in the dresses. I really didn't want to go through that nightmare today."

"I keep telling my parents not to gift fancy dresses, the fancier the dress, the itchier the material and the more crying it takes to get them on." He complained and you noticed the way Everleigh's face was red and blotchy with dried tears on her chubby cheeks. No doubt she would've troubled Max while he was trying to get her in the dress.

You kissed her cheek, cooing when she buried her tiny head in your neck, holding onto the material of your dress in a tiny fist.

"Good thing I packed some extra clothes. We can just change them if they get fussy later."

You were going back to Hiddenville for Nora's birthday and while it wasn't the first time you were travelling with the twins; it didn't mean that it got easier. They usually troubled a lot when it came to sitting in their car seats for a long amount of time and you usually had to make a LOT of stops to change diapers.

Together, you both got into the car and once you were sure the twins were buckled in well, you pulled out of the driveway. Max was in the backseat because he had already gotten them dressed today, you couldn't expect him to drive for 3 hours either.

Just as you got onto the freeway and Iris began getting a little fussy did a thought flash in your head, "I forgot to pack their blankets."

Like she had understood you, Iris began crying and you groaned, turning on the blinker to exit and Max slapped his forehead, "Damn it, (Y/N)."

You stepped into the house with a giant smile on your face, excited to see the family again since it had been a while. Thankfully the twins had napped for majority of the ride and only woke up once you were 5 minutes away from their grandparents' house. Now, fully rested and fully awake, they were very restless and excited to begin walking around.

You and Max carried them into the house where they immediately ran to their grandparents, well they toddled in the clumsy and adorable way that you loved until Phoebe snatched Everleigh up and showered her with affection.

You grinned widely and hugged the Thundermans, wishing Nora a happy birthday and handing her present into her awaiting arms. After a lot of debate, you both decided that money would probably be the best thing for someone with high standards like Nora. She used to be an easy person to shop for but once she outgrew the bows, no one had any idea what she liked.

Billy quickly redirected Max, saying he was trying out for the baseball team and needed some batting practice. You were in the kitchen, helping Barb with the food and gladly offered your services as a taste tester. While Max and Billy practiced in the backyard, Hank, Nora, and Chloe played with the twins in the living room.

Just as Barb was finishing up with the veggie and ham patties for the burger barbeque outside, Nora's friends began arriving and you heard them excitedly scream and chatter while you tossed the salad, Phoebe got the homemade sauce ready, and Cherry began setting up the drinks.

Hank went back to set up the barbeque for a while before you heard a loud cry from the living room and it was like Max had a telepathic connection when he instantly came into the house again before you even had a chance to wipe your hands, "I got it."

One of the guests probably got a little too excited and freaked one of them out; they didn't do too well with strangers.

You watched him fondly as he picked up both Iris and Everleigh, and they were instantly calmed just by being in their fathers' arms again, wrapping their arms around his neck and babbling into his chest while he soothed them.

"I gotta say it (Y/N), you've done a great job." Phoebe spoke up, catching your attention and you chuckled, "I mean Max deserves equal credit."

"No, I meant with Max. I'll be honest, I was kind of worried about him, he didn't really seem like the paternal type but damn, you really wifed him up." She commented and you laughed. That was true, Max was very irresponsible and impulsive, and he still is but it's different when his daughters were involved.

Being married with two twin girls at the age of 24 was the last thing 17-year-old you would have expected but now you couldn't exactly imagine a better life.

"Yeah, I mean he is a total DILF!" Cherry exclaimed and you laughed when Phoebe sent her a disgusted glare.

"Cherry, his wife, mother and sister are in the room. Know your audience."

She merely laughed and went back to her task.

Max came in after, arms empty and you didn't even have to ask for him to tell you, "Chloe's looking after them in her room. Figured it was better than leaving them in the living room where they'd get trampled in the dance party."

He came behind you to wrap his arms around your waist and press a kiss to the back of your head and you smiled instantly, leaning into his chest.

"Can you believe not even 10 years ago; Max was trying to become a villain?" Phoebe brought up for no other reason than to embarrass your husband and you laughed when he groaned and hid his face in the crook of your neck.

"It's not a phase, mom! This is who I am!" You mocked, yelping when Max retaliated with a harsh bite to your skin.

Unfortunately, you didn't get much time to make fun of your husband when the doorbell rang once again and when Nora gave an alarmed call for her mother, you all immediately left the kitchen to see just what had caused such a commotion.

When your eyes landed on who was standing at the door, you couldn't help the shocked laugh that left you. Allison stood in the doorway of the house, smiling innocently at the rest of you and you couldn't help the giant grin on your face, which was odd considering that she was your husband's ex-girlfriend.

But you already won. So, now it was just funny to look at the competition.

"Hey Max. I just got back to town, and I thought we could talk?"

Oh, so she hadn't heard. She hadn't heard that you both moved out to Metroburg, got married and had two children. Well, that kind of relieved you. At least she wasn't a completely terrible person.

"I've literally never been this happy." You sighed and Max turned to glare at you, but you merely winked at him. The last time you had seen Allison, you had hit rock bottom. It felt so powerful to face her again after you managed to crawl out of your own mental space, and you've never felt healthier; physically and mentally.

"Oh, (Y/N), you're still here." She muttered, a little discouraged and you smiled, "Yep, that I am."

"Do you mind giving us a second?" She asked, admittedly a little meekly but you still didn't budge.

"Well, not really, but I do wanna watch what happens." You admitted, not moving from your place and Max ran a hand down his face in exasperation. This would be incredibly amusing to him if it wasn't also incredibly uncomfortable. The guests had cleared to the kitchen and backyard for lunch, so it was just the three of you in the living room.

Well, the family were hiding behind the wall and trying to listen in on everything.

"Max, I'm sorry for the way things ended between us. And I know it's kind of pathetic, but I think I still might have feelings for you." She admitted, playing with her hands and you chuckled.

"You're right. It is pathetic." You blurted before you even had a chance to stop yourself and you were so relieved that the twins weren't here to witness this. You were always scolding Max for not being 'A Good Influence' on them and you didn't want him to get back at you now when you were having so much fun.

Allison's face fell even further, and you did feel kind of guilty in finding pleasure in tormenting her, but you couldn't help yourself. She opened her mouth to say something when she was interrupted by Chloe calling out from upstairs.

"(Y/N)! Iris is crying!"

You spared a smile at her before walking to the staircase, "Well, I need to go tend to our daughters. Nice seeing you again."

Max hid a cringe at her heartbroken expression, "Yeah, about that, I'm married, and I have two daughters with (Y/N). Probably should have opened with that before you confessed. And I'm also sorry but I found the sight of my wife taunting you incredibly sexy. So, I'm gonna leave and you can show yourself out."

He quickly hurried to the stairs and ran up, calling out to Allison who was standing there in shock, "Also, I lied! I'm not really sorry!"

When he entered Chloe's bedroom to find you sitting on the floor with Iris in your lap, calmly playing with one of Chloe's stuffed animals, while Everleigh sat in his sister's lap, he couldn't help the playful glare.

"You just couldn't help yourself, could you?"

You grinned brightly, "No, I really couldn't."

"Chloe? Mind taking the girls down?" She smiled and nodded grabbing their hands before she flashed out of her bedroom. You were lucky they were already used to her teleporting, otherwise you were sure they would have burst into tears like they had the first time she did it.

You blinked up at him innocently, flashing your puppy eyes, "You're not mad at me right? Your beautiful wife and the mother to your treasured children."

He rolled his eyes and chuckled before he sat down on the carpeted floor beside you, cupping the back of your head to bring you into a kiss and you smiled against his lips. Max pulled you into his lap and deepened the kiss, gripping your waist tightly before nibbling gently at your bottom lip. You giggled when he groaned slightly at you tugging his hair, pinching your side in retaliation.

Too bad Allison wasn't still there to hear Max shout from upstairs to the rest of them, "Don't cut the cake without us!" Before the door slammed shut.
