《A Little Good Influence | Max Thunderman x Reader》Chapter 49

"Actually, super powers are genetic. They're created by the cells that get activated by an enzyme that only a super hero's body can produce because it's in their genetics. Most likely, when Dark Mayhem used the orb, he was just shining an ultra violet light or something to destroy the enzyme, but it can be easily replicated and injected so the powers can be restored." Adam informed from behind his cell bars.
You turned to President Kickbutt with the most infuriating smirk, "Ha! I told you so! In your face Kickbutt!"
She glared at you, "You know, I could have you thrown out of her."
You scoffed, "You know, I could make it so that you could never take a shower again but always have wet socks."
She rolled her eyes, trying to condescend you, "What amazing powers you have."
"Well my powers defeated the most powerful villain to ever exist while yours were helping you sit on your ass, so, ha." You replied haughtily.
"You defeated a villain?" Asked Adam, surprised and you nodded excitedly, "Not just any villain! I killed Dark Mayhem baby!"
"Hey that's my thing!" Whined Chloe and you giggled, "Whoops, sorry sweetie."
"Nice job (Y/N)! That's my girl!" Your god brother grinned and held out his hand between the bars to give you a high five which you gladly returned.
"Now, if you want me to restore the Thundermans powers, I'm gonna need lab equipment." He told Kickbutt and you turned to her smirking, "I told you he'd be able to do it."
She just rolled her eyes in the most insulting way and walked away from you. Narrowing your eyes at her back, you stuck her tongue out at her.
Max rolled his eyes at you, "Stop that."
You huffed but did so anyway, turning back to Adam to find him staring at you with a fond smile, "I really missed you, you know?"

"I missed you too. I'm sorry about last time, I almost killed you."
"No," He shook his head, "It wasn't your fault. And it doesn't matter now anyway. I'm okay now."
You nodded gently, smiling at Max when he rubbed your arm in a comforting way. It was an action that wasn't missed by Adam who just smiled knowingly at the two of you, "Can I trust you to get her back safely?"
You scoffed, "I can get back just fine on my own, I don't know if you heard but I—"
"Defeated the most powerful villain to ever exist. We know." They both deadpanned simultaneously and you giggled at their surprised faces.
"Okay then, let's go see Phoebe. See you soon Adam!" You called, turning around when Max wrapped an arm around your shoulder and began guiding you to the door.
Adam was downright grinning at you when you turned around and excitedly waved at him.
"That's my girl."
When Phoebe had been lying in her hospital bed, she felt like she was conscious, even though she wasn't. She felt stuck in her own head but it gave her the time to think about what happened with Max.
Sure, she was beyond happy that Max had chosen a different path, the path of good.
But she was still upset. She wasn't upset at her brother, but just sad that you weren't here to share the happiness she had.
She missed you beyond reason and the thought of you brought tears to her eyes. But the more she thought about you in her unconscious state, the stiffer she became. She tried to wake up, but her body wasn't having it.
She was scared that she never would wake up, and the thought of leaving her family behind and leaving Cherry all alone scared her. It scared her so bad.
She hated being stuck, she hated not being able to reassure everyone that she was okay and it scared her. What is she was dead? What if none of this was real? Every theory and plot roamed in her head to a point where she had to ignore herself.

'If I had one wish, it would be for me to wake up.' She thought miserably, knowing that if she woke up, all her worries would be gone. But nothing happened.
'Maybe it's because when I wake up, nothing will be solved. Everyone will still be unhappy.'
With a new, fresher mentality she made her wish again and wished with all the energy in her body and all the strength in her heart, 'I wish that everyone will be happy. Even if I never wake up again.'
And maybe it was by God's grace, that she began to feel her eyelids flutter open.
Phoebe woke up to her best friend and her brother sitting on the side of her bed. You were snoozing adorably curled up in Max's lap, resting your head against his chest as his arms were steadily wrapped around you and he slept quietly with his head resting on yours.
The sight brought tears to her eyes as she noticed the peace in your face that had been missing for a while. She had missed you so much. And you were back now.
You snored softly as your hands were gently settled above Max's heart, unconsciously seeking out his heart beat. Your breathing was in sync and the two of you looked so united that Phoebe couldn't believe that you haven't seen each other in almost 3 months.
She wanted to wake you up and talk to you, but she also wanted to stare at the two of you until the end. Because right now, this was enough. Having 2 of the most important people to her be happy this way and be at peace was enough for her.
"My wish came true."
"So, what have you been doing for so long?" Cherry asked from the other side of Phoebe. The three of you were curled up on Phoebe's bed and though it was quite congested, you just made sure not to move and were tightly hugging each other to stop anyone from falling.
"It doesn't really matter. I don't want this to be about me anyway." You said, gently brushing a strand away from Phoebe's face, "You guys tell me first. How've you been doing these past few months?"
"We're fine." Answered Cherry, Max and Phoebe in unison and then turned to you with sparkling eyes, "Your turn."
Giving them an amused smile, you decided to satisfy their curiosity, "Okay, well I've been living on a remote island somewhere south from here. It's one of the most beautiful places you'll ever see. I should take you someday." You told them, remembering the cool ocean and warm sand before you remembered something.
"Oh my god!" You gasped, sitting up so quickly Cherry fell off the bed.
"What?" Max asked, helping Cherry up off the floor.
"I left Rudolph there!"
"And Rudolph is?"
"My dolphin! Ugh! I left Mushu and Mulan there too."
"And they are?"
"The stingrays. Oh my god, my poor babies. They must be missing me so much." You pouted, running a hand through your hair.
"Well, you left us way before you left them, so we missed you way more than they could have." Phoebe huffed, laying her head in your lap and Cherry followed her lead, wrapping her arms around you.
You rolled your eyes and just patted their heads, smiling fondly when they snuggled closer to you, "I missed you guys too."
