I see behind those tired eyes

Someone I do not recognize

Bleary blue

Bloodshot through

Darkened rings

Daylight stings

What happened to the joy

All those jokes you employed

Now your dreary as the sea

Tumultuous in your destiny

You fluctuate as the tide

But this darkness you cannot hide

What happened to your cherubish smile

I think I have been living in denial

I still see those cheery days

And you in all your cheery ways

Those are the memories I will always see

When you finally float off to the sea.
