There's a shadow in the corner

A part of me that used to be

It's always one drink away

From devouring

As hard as I might

It's still not far away

I can't give up the fight

Once I drop my guard

It's right by my side

Like a broken glass shard

Trying to put the chipped pieces together

But this is one cup I don't want complete

This is something that I shattered

In hopes that I would defeat

The darkness that's a part of me

But it's still there

One drink away

I can feel its stare.
