I stare at these lines

My mind races, but nothing comes out

Focus is lacking

The brain isn't tracking

Frustration makes it worse and I lock

What came easy once

Now takes all my energy to put to paper

Instead of being therapeutic

I just feel angry

Depression sets in when I can't get it out

A head full of emotion and pictures

But no way to release them

It's a cage and what happens with a caged animal

What does it become when it can't act out its instincts

What will happen if I can't write

Will I become a caged animal

Broken and angry lashing out in misery

I can't become this

So I will force the lines

I will hate them like a bastard

But they will be out and mine.
