So much is left unsaid

All the quick retorts and truthful hurts

A lack luster and languishing in regret

If they could see the hurt in my eyes

That I can never verbalize

All those biting words

That slither shedding scales in my unconscious

When I finally gain the fortitude

To tell you that you’ve been rude

That my heart is bleeding from your razor tongue

I trip and stumble

The eloquent formation of injuries in my mind cannot come out coherent

Instead it’s just a scream

A nonsensical echo of pain

Of all the things I have swallowed

Walled up and shoved deep inside

The words I want to say

Are like trying to build the monument in biblical Babylon

A creation never completed.
