It isn't my job to fix you;

hand and teach you

how to be yourself.

You have to learn

how to do that on your own.

Your insecurities got

the best of you and

ruined something beautiful

between us.

I tried to show you

what real love is but

there was no getting

through to you.

I've seen the dark side

of you and I've accepted it

without hesitation or a

barrage of questions about your past.

All that mattered to me

was our future together,

yet you were still blind

to the concept of love.

You didn't know what that was,

but you liked the thought of it.

The attention.

The sympathy.

The meaningless apologies.

You needed something

to fill that void in your chest.

I've seen all the cuts

and bruises left from

the past and I've

been your shoulder to cry on.

Yet you still chose to view

me as the enemy,

like I was out to hurt you

and had ill intentions.

I'm the one who was there

for you when

nobody else was.

So stop with the comparisons,

there's only one me.

Don't judge me,

we all have our

own faults and scars.

What's done in the past is history.

Don't project the

hatred you have towards

yourself upon me

with your mind games

and toxicity.

That's selfish and inconsiderate.

But I've realized that

you fucked with

my emotions because you

didn't know your own.

I forgive you but

I will not allow

myself to be miserable.

I know my self worth.
