Look deep within,

confront your gritty sins;

deal with the blemishes

that stop blending in.

When you try to

leave them concealed,

you lose control of the wheel,

steering your mind into

a burnt, abandoned field.

Now that your psyche

is holding on by a thread,

you schedule a

psychiatrist to be

prescribed potent meds.

See, the deeper you go,

the more the truth

may surprise you,

twisting and bending

your mind like a corkscrew.

You consistently try to

barricade the truth,

but you're mainly

scared of turning those

you love into a

monster like you.

The nightmares have continued

to linger for years,

leaving behind an

endless supply of tears;

a dreadful pattern

depicting that nobody cares.

You lose sight of how

to treat those

with empathy,

due to that void

in your chest becoming

ever so empty.

But that doesn't mean

that it can't be refilled,

for all you need is faith

and a little strong will.
