《The Words I've Never Said》Memory Lane

You treat me like I'm some exotic exhibit that's on display,

Like you have no clue who or what I'm about.

What hurts the most is knowing that you've done absolutely nothing wrong.

And you've sent nothing but love their way,

Showing them the upmost respect and empathy.

Yet you still push me away although I guided you on a path to success and glee.

Somehow you still see me as some sort of enemy,

An outsider.

We've been there for each other our entire lives,

During the harsh times you were there to make sure I was okay,

Especially when I was in the hospital staring death in the eyes.

I made sure nobody would hurt you,

Like when Miles said something and you didn't hear it.

I stood up to him and called him out.

I'd never let anyone slander your name.

We were always a team,

Your issues became my issues,

When I was upset you became my pillow to cry on.

Then one day you've decided to erase me from your life,

like I was never there.

Blocking my phone number,

Forcing me out of your mind,

Enduring the disorientation and confusion,

Internal suffering.

Forgetting that I was the one who listened when nobody else would,

I was your voice for you when you were too frightened or worried about saying something.

Then she came along, prancing around your mind and manipulated you,

And stole you away from me.

A female who was in your life for a year already means more to you than your own brother.

Who's been there since birth.

I remember riding scooters and playing with the neighborhood kids.

Playing football and baseball in the front of our town home,

Hitting tennis balls with sticks in the tennis court,

Breaking windows on cars and apartment buildings,

Sprinting home so we didn't get in trouble.

That time when you've pulled the fire alarm that I pretended I knew nothing about.

When we were kicking the ice on the pool trying to break it and I fell in.

You dragged me out and we got in trouble, yet we still laughed about it.

That time when we were super young and we ran away together to get McDonald's.

You had dads work boots on and I had moms purse,

Got found by some fire fighters and got to ride back home on a fire truck.

When you drove the car to school and dented the bumper and I took the fall for it.

So many memories that all the sudden mean nothing.

You sent me mentally exhausting text messages about disowning our own family,

Then you go to her family for comfort.

Simply because you have the thought that I don't want anything to do with you.

That will never happen.

Just tell me what's wrong,

So I can get an understanding.

Let's work on things that you're dealing with as a team,

Like we've been doing our entire lives together.

I just want my brother back.

You may have given up on me,

But remember you're not alone.

I'll always be here for you if you need a helping hand.

If you need someone to talk to and hide your secrets and be discreet.

No matter how much you hate me,

I'll always love you bro.
