I was awoken the next morning, feeling a pile of clothes on top of the blanket I was engulfed under in, the pile from my knees down, as a small yawn leaves my mouth, rubbing my eyes as I slowly propped myself up onto my elbows, the shirt I had stolen from Barry last night riding up to my stomach, exposing my underwear as the blanket slipped down my body and folded inwards, as my eyes fell onto Barry, who had a shirt in his hands, sniffing it, before a sigh leaves his mouth, before tossing it in my direction, not even turning a little to the side to see if I was awake, thinking it would land in the huge pile, but instead, it hits my face, causing a small gasp to leave my mouth, holding back a giggle.
"Oh-" I heard Barry say, as he quickly jogs over to me, removing the shirt from my face, tossing it into the pile, holding my face with one hand, "Sorry, hun." He pecks my lips, before standing up straight again.
"You getting ready for work?" I ask him, sitting up fully, as he gives me a sly nod, before grabbing onto a red crewneck, a white t shirt and a pair of jeans, putting them on, changing out of his sweat shorts and long sleeve.
"Do you want to take my car?" I ask him, slipping out of bed, starting to put his clothes back into his closet, looking back at him, "So- you don't have to take the bus?"
"I don't want you to be left with no ride to work-" Barry says, fixing his hair.
"I'll figure it out- just take it." I grab my keys from his dresser and toss it to him, as he catches it, after putting on his converse, a small smile coming my way as he walks over to me, grabbing my waist, turning me slightly, pressing his lips into mine, as I drop his clothes that I had in my hand, kissing back.
I pull away lightly, "I haven't brushed my teeth yet-" I start, but he kisses me lightly again, his lips pressing against mine for a few seconds before he mumbles between the kiss, "I don't care."

He pulls me close, our bodies up against each other's, as he held the kiss as long as he could, not letting me pull away until he did. Once he pulls away, he kisses my forehead, "I love y-" he clears his throat, "Thank you- for letting me use your car. I'll see you later- okay?" He pecks my lips once more, before leaving the room, retreating to my car and driving away.
I was left in his room, my eyes slightly wide, due to the fact that he almost told me he loved me.
It probably just almost slipped out.
He didn't actually mean it.

I walked into Barry's lab at ccpd after getting off of work, dressed in a pair of black jeans that had a few rips here and there, a white long sleeve that was tucked into it, my hair curled and my feet wearing black heeled ankle boots, the laces tight on the shoes. I see him working on a case, his usual cup of coffee not sitting next to him, causing myself to assume he had either dropped it on accident, spill the coffee and broke the cup, or he had finished the coffee and replaced the cup.
"Hey, how's it going?" I ask him, as I walk over to him, wrapping my arms around him from behind, putting my chin on his head, before moving and nuzzling my face into his soft hair.
"Even if I don't want to admit it- because I did this to save Wally- I miss being a speedster." Barry muttered quietly, dropping his pencil in frustration.
I let out a breath through my nose, "It's going to be hard for you to get back into the hang of things- because you're back to normal."
He barely nods as I let go of him, moving around his chair, leaning back against his desk, facing him, "Could I run something by you really quick?"
"Of course." He says, looking up at me, his eyes fixed on me.
I spoke, "When you were- running- and your speed was transferring into that vial- Jay pulled me to the side to speak with me."

Barry sits up slowly, "What did he say?"
"Well- first of all- he called me his sister. Said- even if he was from a different earth- I was his sister." I told him, "Then he said that- my doppelganger and I are more alike than I think. He said- we both had the same traits and are very similar but the only differences were that I changed who I was- when she didn't, and that I was holding back on my powers- that I could be so much more than I am putting out- that I could feel so much more power from my powers- but I hold back."
"And you believe him?" Barry questioned.
"Kinda?" I say, "I know- that I'm not trying to be at my full capability."
"Do you think you're anything like her?" Barry asks me, as I go silent.
He notices my silence, as his opens his arms wide, "Come here." He told me, as I stood up, him grabbing my waist and pulling me into his lap, wrapping his arms around my waist, looking up at me, "You're nothing like her."
A small sigh leaves my mouth, as my arm wraps around his shoulders, as I mess with the part of the crewneck he was wearing that rested on his shoulder, "I know- I just- I feel like an idiot for even- thinking about any of this but- still. When I get angry- or upset- I feel like I'm on a hanging thread- and I'm so close to breaking. What if- that's how I become like her- ya know?"
"She didn't have Joe to raise her. She didn't have Iris as a best friend- she didn't have me. You- have me. You have all- of my love and affection- you have our entire family. There is no way you will ever become like her." Barry told me, as my cheeks lightly flushed as he spoke, "You aren't who you were when you were younger. You changed- you made something of yourself- you pushed yourself into being the person you are today- and we all love you so much- and know- that you couldn't be able to turn into her."
I stay silent, as I held eye contact with him, as he continued, "Zee- she used the fact that she looked exactly like you- she used that as leverage- to break me. You can't physically stoop to a level like that. You're care about people's feelings- you put other people before yourself. You help- so much- you're a detective without even being a detective." A small smile played on his face as he said the last sentence, causing me to break out a smile, a giggle leaving my lips.
"Okay- okay." I say, pecking his lips, as he pulled me closer.
He smiles lightly, probably pleased with himself with everything he had just said, as I spoke up, "Need any help with these cases?"
"If that means spending time with you- yes." He tells me, pecking my lips again, the smile on my face remaining.

That day was spent very eventfully. Harry had found his daughter, but eventually Harry had gotten kidnapped from a man who was affected by the particular accelerator, thinking that Harry was Wells from this Earth. He kidnapped him, to try and make Harry make some sort of cure, to cure his meta human abilities, due to every time he used it, it made him older, and closer to his own death. Barry had gone in without any of his powers, and somehow had helped defeat the meta.
Although, I was laying in bed with Barry Allen after a long day, as he held onto me, I couldn't help but think before I fell asleep.
He almost told me he loved me today.
He had the capability to help and save Harry today, even without his powers.
The only thing on my mind was Barry.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

A Portal Fantasy Comedy Poem
Mix an adolescent shepherd boy in love with a girl who wants to meet existentialists, a Viscount in need of an adventure, and a bland psychic. Add in a flippant god. Put them in a land made up of the after-lives of various different cultures. Stir gently. Sprinkle in some random Midgard Serpent, Genghis Khan, Scheherazade, and a cussing mocking bird. Fry lightly. Season to taste and serve with desired garnishes. Bon apetit! A comic fantasy poetic epic, filled with misfits, slapstick routines, light romance, people shouting out the names of their battle skills before using them, old philosopher dudes running around naked, a very serious lamb, demonic knitting, battery operated magic swords and even more traumatising stuff! I experimented with different styles in the beginning and finally settled on an ABABBCBC rhyme scheme (Give me your 0.5s. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I'm collecting them, seriously)
