I was seated on my living room couch that night, dressed in one of Barry's crewnecks that I had stole, and my own black joggers, my hands wrapped around a mug that was filled with hot chocolate, the one I made for Barry sitting on the coffee table.
I heard the door lock click, signaling he had unlocked the door with the spare key I had given him, and my eyes hand on the door as he opens it, walking in slowly, closing and locking the doors, dropping the keys in the bowl on the small table by the door.
He walks into the living room and spots me, "You stole my crewneck?"
"I made you hot cocoa- so I thought you'd let it slip." I shrug lightly, trying to lighten the mood, getting up, putting down my own cup and grabbing his, heating it up; before handing it to him.
My eyes glanced at the time, as it was almost midnight.
He quieted thanked me before sitting down on the couch next to where I was sitting, as I saw down also, grabbing the blanket on the side and spreading it neatly across out laps so that we were sharing, and grab my mug, sipping my hot cocoa.
"Are you okay?" I ask quietly, as he clears his throat lightly, "My throat hurts from screaming at nothing for a half an hour." He replies to me.
"Oh." I simply say, my hands right around the mug I still had in my hands, as he slowly sips his.
I stay quiet for a while, thinking it's best not to talk, he breaks the silence, looking at me, a small weak smile plastered on his lips, "Go on."
"Hm?" I hum, my eyes snapping right up to him, my eyes slightly wide due to seeing him smile after finding out something like this.
"Oh, come on." He says, "I know you've been holding it in since we found out what you knew was true." Barry lightly teases me, as a small smile grows on my face as I set down my mug, clapping my hands together.
"Okay-" I say, a small laugh sounding from my mouth, as he was letting me boast about being correct, "I knew it- I knew it- I knew it."
He presses his lips together, as I could tell he was holding back a laugh, the smile he had on previously remaining on his lips.

"No one believed me-" I say, "No- one. I knew it from the second he stepped foot and looked exactly like Hunter- that he was going to screw us all over." I speak.
My excitement got the best of me, as I continued to speak, his gaze on me, his smile slowly growing, "I mean- come on. Reign being Zoom's younger sister? I being Hunter's younger sister? Zoom legitimately telling me he couldn't kill me? That man in that cell spelling out Jay? Jay literally looking exactly like Hunter? He had to be lying about something-" I say, clapping my hands together again, smiling giddily from how I had just put that together, "I could really be a detective."
"Detective Young. I kinda like that." Barry laughs quietly.
"And since this is a serious topic- I'm going to stop babbling- in three- two- one." I quiet down, calming myself down.
"You're too adorable." He simply says to me, the smile still plastered on his face.
I smile lightly before he sets his mug down, "I kinda like Reporter Young more, though. She speaks very highly of the Flash in her articles- you can be Detective Young when we're working on a meta problem."
I go quiet, knowing what was coming.
As if right on cue, he speaks, "You do realize- I never want you to go out on the field again- right?"
"This was only my second time-" I lightly shrug, "And- even though I could've almost died- I did good."
"Zee- you could've actually gotten killed. The bridge- literally- collapsed on you." Barry recalls what had happened, "You almost drowned."
"But I saved a father and his son in the progress." A pout falls onto my lips, "I did good."
"I'm not saying you didn't- because you really did. You helped me save hundreds of people that night. But- I don't want you risking your life- like I already am." He replies to me, his hands moving to my forearms, holding onto them and squeezing them in a comforting manner.
"Exactly- so you need back up." I reason with him.
Barry shoots me a look, "How about this." He starts, "When I really need help- you can come along with me. Other than that, if I don't let you go out there- you're staying back with Cisco and Caitlin. Understood?"

"Fine." I say quietly, as he speaks, "It's better if you stay back and figure out all the mysteries, rather than get yourself killed."
I simply nod, "Are you okay?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" Barry asks dumbfounded.
"With- everything with Jay." I mention, as a small sigh leaves his lips.
"It kind of sucks- I mean I should've listened to you. You knew better- he looks exactly like Hunter. There was no way I could've possibly been able to make up some logical explanation to why he looked like Hunter, but was Jay Garrick." He says, "I should've listened to you- instead of letting another person in- just to have them betray that trust and support we had all given him."
"Mistakes happen." I try to defend him, not wanting to see him beat himself up about it.
He speaks up, "This mistake shouldn't have happened again. It happened with Wells- and it happened again with Jay- I'm just so-"
I cut him off, "Don't."
He goes quiet, looking at me in silence.
I move closer without realizing, as I spoke, "If anything we all trusted him. I found him starting to grow on me slightly before he died- okay? It wasn't just you. Don't carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Don't- be like Oliver Queen." I say to him, "Although, he is really hot-"
He cuts me off, a look on his face, "Zee."
"Three- two- one." I count down, stopping myself from rambling on.
A small chuckle leaves his lips as he lightly shakes his head, before going quiet, as do I.
I barely nod, as I stay quiet, just looking at him, as he does the same.
"My clothes look- really good on you, ya know." Barry's voice was dangerously low, as he scoots somewhat closer to me, as I felt my heart stop at his sudden movement, his hands staying on my forearms.
"Do- they?" I ask, staying put, not stopping him from coming closer, not knowing where this would lead.
"Mhm-" he hums in response, as he moves his hands, one moving to my lower back, the other putting a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"Oh-" I barely let out, as a small smirk comes upon his lips, as he starts to lean in, as I pull back lightly.
"Wow- looks like you're about to kiss me-" I state the obvious; my voice quiet, as I let out a nervous laugh.
"Yeah- it does, doesn't it?" A smile crosses his lips as my nervousness and confusion, not bothered by how I was reacting to this.
"Definitely-" I reply, as he lets out a chuckle, wrapping his one arm that's hand was on my lower back around my waist, picking me up as if I weighed nothing, a small squeal leaving my mouth, as he proceeded, laying me down on the couch where I was previously sitting, his arm remaining there, him now on top of me, in between my legs; propping himself on his left elbow that was beside my head; the blanket shifting at our movements, now only on our lower halves.
"Absolutely." He says, his voice once again, dangerously low, the mixture of a smile and smirk playing on his lips still.
"Your arm is around my waist-" I state the obvious, as he speaks, "Really? I didn't notice- how did it get itself there?"
"Mm- I don't know." I shrug, a smile growing onto my lips.
"Mm- I don't know either." He hums, "It's crazy."
I giggle lightly in response as he leans down slowly, his nose touching mine, "I'm gonna kiss you now, is that okay?" He asks me quietly, the smile on his face widening, as if regardless of my answer, he would do it anyway.
"I think so-" I playfully say quietly, ignoring the nervousness and confusion firing up in my chest, as my heart beat a hundred miles per second.
"You think so?" He repeats what I said, another chuckle leaving his lips, as he leant in closer.
"Yeah-" I say to him.
"Yeah?" He replies, repeating my words again, before leaning down and pressing his lips into mine, as I could find myself kissing back right away, one hand going to his face, holding it, the other going to the back of his head and into his hair, melting into the kiss.
