I fell in my couch as I huffed. I've been working all day. I mean I only have a morning shift at Jitters, but today I had to cover up for Iris because she needed to go meet someone. So I ended up having to work the rest of the afternoon and now here I am, at 9 pm, finally crashing on my couch after a long day, making a small oath to myself that I wouldn't get up.

I broke my little oath and walked up to my window, to see the particle accelerator, so many miles away from my apartment. But it was hard not to miss it because S.T.A.R. Labs is such a big laboratory. I watched as the bolt of energy flew up in the air, in a straight line with no problems. I smiled before walking to my kitchen thinking I wanted mac and cheese for dinner.

I turned on my stove, getting ready to boil the macaroni, before I was jerked forward with completely force, falling over, and onto the ground, and was knocked out.

-

I heard my phone vibrate next to me, which make me wake up from my unconsciousness. I slowly get up off the floor, my body in pain, as I grabbed my forever buzzing phone and answered the call.

"Hello?" I groggily say as I finally sit up.

"Zee! I've been calling you for hours! Barry-" Iris starts to blab but I cut her off.

"I was knocked out, now what happened to Barry?" I ask

"He was struck by lightening, and we are at the emergency room." She stated trying to sound calm but I could tell from her voice that she was freaking out. But I couldn't believe it.

"Struck by lightening? That's pretty- unrealistic in Central City-" I try, not wanting to believe that something like this could've actually happened. "Are you kidding me? I'm at the emergency room, right now Zee! He keeps flat lining!" She starts to shout but I cut her off. "Okay- I'm coming-" I hang up.

I drive over as quickly as possible, sloppily parking at any parking I could find, probably not the best idea.

I rush through the front doors and quickly made my way over to a crying Iris, and a worried Joe. "Is he okay?" Is the first question that leaves my mouth but am cut off the minute Iris hugs onto me for comfort. I wrap my arms around her and hold her as I watch different doctors rush into the room I assumed was Barry's. Now it's come to my attention that even the unrealistic can happen.

It was like everything was slow motion, as I watched other people being rushed through the huge doors, because of the huge blast that affected most of the city.

But there I stood, holding Iris as she cried, not knowing what had fully happened.

After hours of sitting there, we all decided to go home to get some rest. To my surprise, my car has been towed for a reason I had to end up dealing tomorrow morning. I decide to stay with Iris that night, knowing how upset she was, keeping my emotions back just so I could comfort her.

Everything went by quickly. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, I visited Barry in every piece of spare time I had. Half way throughout him being in coma, Harrison Wells, the man who created the particle accelerator, the man who Barry had been dying to meet, the man who probably ended up causing so many deaths and injuries after his invention exploded into the air.

I often visited S.T.A.R. Labs, talked to my new friends, Cisco and Caitlin, fearing Dr. Wells, checking up on Barry, etc.

"Refills?" I ask someone as she looked up to me and smiled.

"Please?" She says as I nodded pouring some hot coffee in her cup. I grab the empty pot and go behind the counter and set it by the coffee machine. I see Iris run in as she ran behind the counter.

"You're late." I stated the obvious as if I was one of those annoying bosses.

"I know, I know, I lost track of time doing something." She says as she put on her apron as I took mine off.

"I'm out. Iris come over to my place later." I say, grabbing my stuff and speed walking out of Jitters.

I ran over to my car and stared the engine while buckling my seat belt. I pull out and onto the road and drove down to my apartment.

I park and spill out of my car, closing the door, locking the car, and running to my building. I run up the stairs and unlock my apartment door. I close it leaving it unlocked, knowing that if someone even tried to come up in this house I'd know exactly how to defend myself.

I plop on my couch, huffing. I grab a couch pillow and snuggle my face into it. I felt sleep overcome me as I decided to take a nap. My eyes closed, now glassed with darkness as sleep took me away.

-

I awoke with my phone buzzing continuously. I look over to see I didn't just take a nap, I ended up sleeping for the rest of the night. I grab my phone to see millions of miss calls and text messages from Iris.

I put my phone down as I get up to stretch. I walk down the hallway and walk into the bathroom. I hover over the sink as my hands rest on the sides of the sink.

I sigh as I grab my toothbrush, gelling toothpaste on it and start brushing my teeth. I spit and rinse before splashing my face with water. I dry my face before running into my room and start rummaging through my dresser draw. I pull out a pair of high waisted light blue jeans, and a cropped hoodie.

I slip those on before grabbing a pair of black converse, slipping those on also. I grab my hair brush, brushing out all the knots, realizing I didn't even need to do my hair so I shrugged at myself in the mirror. I did a few more necessities before walking out the the kitchen. I look in the fridge, looking for something to eat.

There was a knock on my door as I don't even look up.

"It's open." I call out, as the person opens the door, I figured it was Iris.

"Hey- sorry. I actually fell asleep right when I got back, and I just woke up." I explained from my fridge.

"You are one to miss out on fun hang outs to sleep." I hear a completely different voice. The voice I've been longing to hear these past nine months. How was he even awake? Why wasn't I notified yet? Did he just get out?

I slowly stood up and closed my fridge door. I slowly faced him, my eyes wider than ever.

"Is it really you? Am I dreaming?" I ask

"If you were dreaming, I'd be shirtless and we'd be in bed, so no. Barry Allen in the flesh." He says as his hands dig deeper into his pockets.

I let out a small cry in happiness, as I sped to him jumping into his arms. It was amazing, he looked so good, he didn't even look like he was put into coma, he didn't even look a shaken from waking up.

"How the hell are you up now? How long ago did they release you and why didn't Iris tell me yet?" I ask in confusion as he still holds me, while we pull away from the hug half way so we could talk face to face.

"They released me a hour or two ago, and also you might wanna check your phone." He says laughing.

I let go and walk to my coffee table picking up my phone. I scroll down to see millions of messages, my eyes scanning over them. My eyes widen as I read only a few.

"Well Iris is really one to inform." I say as I set my phone down. He laughs as I smile.

"But seriously, you're breathing!" I clapped my hands.

"I'm breathing!" He cheers, laughing.

As I laugh lightly with him, backing away slightly, tripping over literal air and falling backwards.

I groaned lightly as I hit the ground, I look up to see Barry looking at me, then around me, with wide eyes. He looks as if he just saw a ghost.

"Barry?" I say but he's still looking around that his surroundings.

I say his name again as I get up onto my feet, waving my hand in his face.

"Barry!" I raise my voice as he finally snaps back into reality looking at me.

"Are you okay? What's wrong?" I continue as he cuts me off shaking his head.

"No, I'm fine. I just- listen I have to go I just remembered that I have to do something, I'll call you tonight I promise-" He says but cuts himself off and pulls at my door knob.

"Yeah I'll call you tonight alright, yeah." He says as he walks out of my apartment.

"Wait, Barry!" I say as I run to my room and look down the hall. He was gone so quickly.

-

"Did Barry seem a little off to you today?" I ask Iris as I shove a chip in my mouth.

"Honestly speaking, yeah kinda, when Tracy dropped her tray of coffee earlier, Barry looked like he saw a ghost or something he was so surprised by his surroundings or something." She says into her phone.

We were currently face timing.

"Well when he came and surprised me when he came to my place today, I tripped and fell he looked like he was looking at a whole new world or something, it was weird." I say shoving another chip in my mouth.

"Babe!" I heard the familiar voice in the background.

"Oh no, is that detective pretty boy?" I say my jaw dropping, while smiling, my eyes widened

Before Iris could speak I continued, "And did he just call you babe?"

"Well," she says but I cut her off again

"How could you not tell me?" I gasp playfully.

"Oh shut up, you know now." She says

"Yes, yes indeed I do, but the fact that you kept this from me." I fake sobbed into to my hand.

"Zee shut up!" She laughs as I laugh with her but my laughing is silenced when I hear a knock on my door.

I get up running over to the door, opening it as my eyes landed onto the cute dork himself, Barry.

"Barryyyy!" I trail loud enough for Iris to hear.

"Zeeeeee!" He mocks me as he walks in and closes the door.

"Look Iris, Barry's here!" I say as Iris moves away from Eddie. I got the message knowing she didn't want him to know that they were dating just yet.

"Hey Barry! Sorry I actually have to go, I have a late shift at Jitters." She makes up an excuse before smiling.

"Okayyy byeee!" I say as Barry's bye, echoed mine. She ended the FaceTime and now it was just Barry and I.

"I thought you said you'd call?" I question as I plop onto the couch as he does my exact same action.

"I actually just wanted to see you, so I brought food too." He says as he pulls out a bag from Big Belly Burger from behind his back.

"Oh- you're so great." I say, smiling lightly and sat down with him on the couch, opening the bag, giving him his food and taking my own.

I plop a fry in my mouth as I feed him one also.

"So how was your day?" was all that came from my mouth, and then we just sat, and spoke about everything. It was just a normal day, like nothing changed, and Barry never went into a coma.

Soon enough, we were both drifted into sleep.

that was a very sucky ending to the chapter but i didn't know how to end it cause I've done some major editing and taken some huge parts out sooooo !
