Toothless sat and watched the small weak boy asleep in the bed in front of him.

His trainer. His best friend. That one that did everything with him.

His trainer had fallen in a battle with Toothless at his side to help him. Even to save his life or bring him back to life.

His breathing was steady and slow.

Toothless was sitting over the bed watching the boy carefully.

He snorted at the boy playfully. Hiccup only moved a little bit.

Toothless snorted again.

It was clear to him that Hiccup didn't want to wake up.

But he didn't know the boy was still unconscious from the battle with the Red Death.

To Toothless Hiccup appeared to be sleeping.

He growled licking Hiccup's cheek. He didn't budge.

He continued to lick him.

Still nothing.

Without even thinking he spat a Plasma Blast into Hiccup's face.

Hiccup slowly inhaled breathing in the fire.

The boy coughed weakly in his sleep. His eye lids tightened then relaxed again.

Toothless licked him once more to make sure he was okay.

He gently moved Hiccup's dark bangs away from his forehead with his snout to reveal more cuts and scars from the battle.

He gently began to lick them knowing his saliva had amazing healing properties.

Although one cut did not go away. He kept on licking it but it still wouldn't go.

Toothless examined it more closely.

He growled silently.

The cut that he was trying to heal wasn't a cut from the battle.

Toothless licked it once more.

The scar was something different.

Different from any cut Toothless has ever seen.
