《Psych | C.H. AU》Session 5

"This is great, Mr. Hood." The smile on Doctor Gram's face scared me a little.

"How could this possibly be good?" I stared up at him in confusion. "I just admitted to you that I know what I did."

He held up a hand to stop me. "Yes, but now we also know why you did it. This is a breakthrough, Calum!"

The man's excitement toward my guilty confession didn't sit well as I leaned back into my chair. "So this means I'm going to jail."

"Not quite," He shook his head and I was yet again confused as to why. "I think it is very important that we try hypnotherapy in our next session."

"But," I felt nervous all of a sudden. "We know now. What else is there?"

"As wrong as it is for me to say, I think reliving the experience might trigger the full story out of the depths of your subconscious." He nodded his head like he was agreeing with himself. "Everything is going to be fine."

It was hard to tell whether Doctor Gram was on my side or if he was secretly trying to put me away for what I had done. Or maybe he was in it because he had never had a case quite like mine and was only interested in what my memories could tell him about a person's inner psyche.

Were my actions justified because I had tried to protect someone else? Or would that be over looked because of how horribly I had disfigured the other boy? I didn't know and I was scared to find out, but I trusted Doctor Gram. I had to.

"Okay," I agreed.

He smiled reassuringly as my mind switched from my own problems to Skyler's.

"He did it again," I spoke quietly.

"Who did what?" Doctor Gram looked up from a few forms he was now filling out.

"Skyler." I stared up at him sheepishly. "I ran into her this weekend and blamed her for what her boyfriend did to her... Again."

"Calum," There was sympathy written all over his face. "I understand how her situation resonates with you, but like I said before, only she can choose to help herself."

"I'm just worried." I nodded my head as I acknowledged his words.

"Good." And for what felt like the hundredth time this session I was confused by his words.

"She needs someone to be worried about her. Because now that she see's there are other people willing to fight for her well being, she might take action and fight back as well."

A smile appeared on my face and I hoped that what he said would come true. She didn't deserve what was happening to her, no one did.
